Title: BELLY BUTTONS?
Post by: Hennessey on November 15, 2007, 08:58:22 AM
Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?  :dontknow:

LOL. I think we have too much time on our hands, Bro.

I would say yes. Although they obviously did not need belly buttons as never having had an umbilical chord, we all have born the image of the first Adam and we have them.

:cloud9: Yes, this probably does mean we have too much time on our hands, but that is an excellent question anyway. Never thought about it, but I feel an unction to think on it in my spirit. I have to say no, not until after Satan paid them a visit, but I'll have to wait on the Spirit to tell me why. The umbilical cord is a "key" if you will of some other Truth He showed me, but I'll have to let Him add to that with this. Good point though......Blessings to you......

Cool Card, you can take the "post-umbilicism" position and if we can find someone to stand on the "mid umbilicism" belief we can have a heated discussion.  :laughing7:

Seriously it is a good question.

Hey Card I sent you PM days ago.

This is like the light bulb thread.

I would have to say I am pre-umbilical but of course that could be a RCC myth too :laughing7:

Could it be belly buttons are vain imaginations?

When God finished Adam He poked him in the stomache with a sort of tickle, love "noodge" gesture and created what looks like an inny.  I guess I'm a pseudo-umbilicist?

BELLY BUTTON BLUES

My belly center's really bare:
My belly button isn't there!
I got no innie, got no outie.
Every day it makes me pouty.

I wouldn't mind a belly snap,
A zipper, hook, or belly flap.
Still, most of all, I'd like a button,
But sad to say, friend, I got nuttin'.

I actually heard a story once about a congregation that split over whether or not A & E had navels or not.

Those who believed they did formed The First Church of the Navelites.  :mshock:

He worked tirelesslly extracting navel lint all day and in the evenings he hung out at the bar drinking "Fuzzy Navels."  :laughing7:

Ya'll are funny.

Off topic here:  My hubby one easter got lint out of the dryer and put it in a baggie.  At our home fellowship that morning he put it in the center of the floor and told everyone to look at it.

Then he stated, "We are observing lint."   :mshock:    :bgdance:

If ever the silver chord is broken............Spiritual DNA umbilicial chord.......

I heard a good teaching the other day on that, can't remember where, exactly,
I am such a scavenger for truth.....but it made sense, it said the Spiritual DNA
of the IMAGE of God in us "unfurls" in us when we WALK it out!  It's there, but
to see it, we must WALK with God!  Of course, man can find that natural DNA
but the Spiritual One must be hidden in the hidden man of the heart, or the one
extra cell in the woman's brain.  Just had to say that. ha

Sometimes it seems like that unfurling is tripping us as we try to walk...   :mshock:

Just as you have recieved Christ~ so walk in Him.

:cloud9: Those lint comments were just hilarious!  :laughing7:
And RLV, that's interesting and it makes sense........unfurling like a scroll, perhaps? I know the natural heavens unfurl like a scroll. The first vision He ever gave me I was saved 7 months and didn't even know such a thing was possible. I was asleep, knew I was on my back in bed, and next thing I know He opens my spiritual eyes to see the star canopy of the heavens split and curl at the edges of the split, revealing this glorious light coming thru. I wasn't walking too straight yet, and I thought to myself, I'm not ready for this yet.......then it stopped, and I jolted awake. Got stoned for sharing that one in church, LOL.........Blessings to you.......

isn't the silver cord the umbilical cord that connects the spirit that God gives us to our physical bodies?

Hi Firewalker !    Good question

ECC12 ...5Furthermore, men are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags himself along, and the caperberry is ineffective.

For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street.

6Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed,

the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed;

7then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it....

Those seem to be the  symbols of God use of vessels for his service ........ imo
