I was thinking today about the utter absurdity of the 'age of accountability' used to explain away the obvious ET consequence of babies and children being burned alive in hell. Indeed, one could probably prove UR from this point alone, as ET cannot follow itself to it's own logical conclusion in this matter, having to completely invent a doctrine that is not mentioned once in the context of the New Covenant. For if there were an age of accountability, the following would naturally be true:
1 - There would be a whole separate manner of coming to God outside of Christ (by being young enough when one dies). Some have posited, with the amount of infant and youthful deaths in history, that even 50% or more of those 'going to heaven' would be saved this way!
2 - This age of accountability would be very much emphasized in the New Testament, so that parents were aware of what point their kids were now potentially hell bound, and the kids themselves would have no excuse.
3 - Abortion and infant death would become sources of salvation instead of grief.
4 - Many would be 'saved' without ever having become conformed to the image of Christ, or being tested in the refiner's fire.
If this doctrine were true, you could have a hypothetical situation where a certain person dies one minute after midnight on the exact age of accountability, with that one minute making the whole difference between an eternity in heaven or hell. Can anybody say 'arbitrary'?
Of course, this is sheer silliness, and just another example of extra-curricular nonsense that has to be created to justify the natural absurdity of ET. For indeed, our God is merciful, causing His sun to shine on the just and the unjust, and He loves the little children, demanding that they be allowed to come to Him! UR shows the harmony of His character, and reveals that, rather than justice and mercy being opposed to one another, they are intertwined in the very divine nature. To be merciful IS to be just, and to be just IS to be merciful!

The ironic thing is that the ET "age of accountability" theory inadvertently makes Planned Parenthood the heroes and justifies abortion considering those babies could choose the wrong path when they reach a certain age. If that's true, then why even risk our own children for eternal damnation if we can give them a free ticket to Heaven by aborting them. That's why the ET perspective on the age of accountability theory is filled with hypocrisy.
..amen.. and I believe there was in the national news (usa) a (delusional, to say the least) mother did away with her children for that very reason... or so she said.. some few years ago..
We can tell something by its fruit.. including ideas and doctrines.. By, as Shev pointed out, following the 'logic'... oR lack thereof..
:Peace2: :smile:

I believe this becomes irrelevant, in light of the fact, that God sees our hearts, and knows us intimately. He made us, and is our Father, who loves us.
He knows what we think and why we think it. He knows our motives, which are of the utmost importance.
So, age of accountability is, to me, a construct of this world, trying to keep everything in its 'box', which is not how God operates.

About 20 years ago, a woman by the name of Susan Smith put her 6 children in a car and drove it into a lake and watched them all drown. She said this was the only way to make sure her kids would go to heaven.
Amazing thoughts everyone , good post Shev as always making us all think differently .
I love how the bible explains '' age of accountability '' lol
Not how the carnal mind deals with Spirituality , this makes them dangerous and causing harm to themselves and others .. [kingdom of heaven come by violence till John , carnal in nature and How God dealt with carnality ] no flesh please God .
The letters of 1 John 2 babes ,young men and fathers , Babes or addressed as little children in the Spirit 1 John 3
After reading the bible this explained a lot to me of how in the old testament we see most if not all were just babes in the Spirit and still very carnal men & women as they ''slept with their fathers ''sleeping in sorrow , this means died in Christ/anointed for a purpose not receiving the full as we have been given now by the new testament of promises being fulfilled Spiritually in the here and now in Jesus Christ /Word of God hear Him speaking, to the end .
It was ever supposed to be any other way till Christ come in the fulness of time to complete the Fulness to the end .
I believe John is speaking of spiritual maturity [ fulness of Christ]
I am still a babe in Christ spiritually speaking , because I have not overcome my own carnality yet .
For me the young men in the Spirit are the warriors in Gods army of heavenly hosts having the full armor on and battling this spiritual warfare
and the fathers are those chosen to be from the beginning as the elect of God sent for a very exact and special purpose of God .
The Lord said He always has 7000 reserved at all times A Remnant of Israel
...3"Lord, THEY HAVE KILLED YOUR PROPHETS, THEY HAVE TORN DOWN YOUR ALTARS, AND I ALONE AM LEFT, AND THEY ARE SEEKING MY LIFE." 4But what is the divine response to him? "I HAVE KEPT for Myself SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL." 5In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God's gracious choice....
Dealing with our own carnality is a battle of itself and many of ''young men '' come though overcoming weakness of the flesh though the Spirit of God
The Word of God says , we are judged by the WORD spoken to us and how we handle the Word of Life and this is Spiritual
Because we can see how the carnal handles it and always have though violence .
For me it is the Love that explains pure maturity and selflessness , Like Christ having it all and pouring out Himself completely so all could have ''some ''
Poured out His Spirit on all flesh and we are in those last days according to the prophecy of the WORD
Acts 2 16but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:
17'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND;
AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
18EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy....
The testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy and why Paul was desiring all would have have prophecy / Christ word to the full to me anyways
