The few verse in 2 Cor. 5 have me wondering about the depth of meaning of what Paul has told us.
2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
What does it mean to have known Christ after the flesh? And then what does it mean that henceforth know we Him no more?
My first observation is that when we know Christ after the flesh we acknowledge Him as the one who died for the sin of the world and "accept" Him as personal saviour. Still carnal and not spiritual. First step in the conversion process. But later, when we no longer know Him that way, we are in Christ and He in us. Now spiritual, a new creature.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
CLV - 16 So that we, from now on, are acquainted with no one according to flesh. Yet even if we have known Christ according to flesh, nevertheless now we know Him so no longer.
17 So that, if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: the primitive passed by. Lo! there has come new!
Second question: What does it mean to Know no man after the flesh?

I think you answered the second question already: first step in the conversion process. But later, when we know him no longer that way we are in Christ and he is in us. Now spiritual, a new creature all having to do with verse 17: if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. The old has passed away and the new has come. Because the new has come, we no longer know eachother after the flesh.
..after the flesh.. the old and carnal nature, the lower nature (and mind) which is at enmity with God.. Not matter for God said "behold it's all good".. the gnostics thought rather than needing to be saved from sin/imperfect nature, we and the world had to be saved from being matter or 'in matter'.. such were the nico-laitans who taught that since the body, eating, everything was evil, than sin didn't matter because it was all bad so what they hey.. nico-laity-ans (nico-victory over-laity-ppl, nico-leaders, lording over, superior, hidden knowledge/gnosis)
remedy to the lower nature is Christ in us.. the law (Pentecost, the date of law given from Sinai Mt) was replaced by the Holy Spirit poured out on belivers at Pentecost
