Title: Adam judged God.
Post by: dajomaco on November 19, 2014, 09:51:21 PM
Then, it was as if their eyes were opened. They realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made something to cover themselves.
8 Then they heard the LORD God walking in the garden during the cool part of the day, and the man and his wife hid from the LORD God among the trees in the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man and said, "Where are you?"
10 The man answered, "I heard you walking in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid."

Adam made a judgment about God .
He judge that God was someone to hide from.

Adam did not know that part of the character of God is Mercy.
If Adam thought that God would have Mercy
he could have gone to God and confessed rather than hiding.

God always preferred Mercy over judgment
except when God's Mercy was seen as weakness.

Somehow Jesus naked on the cross is Adam crying out to God
My God My God why have you forsaken me.

Yes better   to confess  Bro Dale , I do not think you can hide from God ever

Gods asked them ,who told you  that you were  naked ?

Hebrews 4 ;13  And there is no created thing hidden from before him,

but everything is naked and open before the eyes of him to whom we give an account.

I may not be understanding correctly, but it seems that Adam had a point in hiding. Did he find mercy? The Adamic life is a hard one of death and separation. I can hear humanity also in Christ's cry. It seems like God has dealt with us harshly and we are helpless without Him. I am grateful that Christ has reconciled us to God, but I will admit that sometimes life's experiences make that hard to believe.

Yes. Blood sacrifice/slave is the first of the 4 covenants that become marriage.
A wedding garment has 4 layers. The first layer's name in Hebrew is the same word as:
Gen 3:21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them

So imo God instantly started fixing things....

/EDIT I highlighted 'skin' but I should have highlighted 'garments'.

כּתּנת  /  כּתנת
kethôneth  /  kûttôneth
BDB Definition:
1) tunic, under-garment
1a) a long shirt-like garment usually of linen
Part of Speech: noun feminine
A Related Word by BDB/Strong's Number: from an unused root meaning to cover [compare H3802]
Same Word by TWOT Number: 1058a

  Hi Deena
I do believe this was the  first time Adam experienced   fear  of the Lord . Which is the beginning of Wisdom
But lost something more,  innocence .
Oh that tree of knowledge  :sigh: and becoming ''aware''

My nature  changed  and   remember  very well  when I  was in the wrong, I run from God and not to Him
and  only  regret not running to Him sooner

Yes the  cup of suffering , you do good and your crushed   you do evil your crushed
Sometimes feel this  world  is hell /grave  the  darkness and unseen  described in the Word of God

And  believe  our own thoughts can torment us ,  as it appears   at times

and Agree with Dale  we  do not realize  Gods wrath is for a moment and  His mercy endures forever
I think of this life as a   blink of an eye
its short here on   the earth  even if   80 plus years   , when you compare it to endlessness

Mercy is of Gods  true nature ,  He sent Jesus Christ here  in the flesh to make    make us ''aware ''

even though we are only here for a short time  , That is mercy !    and cutting back our days of flesh and blood   from  almost a 1000  years  to    70 or 80 more or less   again that is   mercy to me     big time .

:2c:  Adam after sin entered...was bearing the image of the corrupt one[that rebellious original serpent spirit that slandered

God]and through Adam's fear of death become a slave to sin.  Jesus through His death showed us to trust God and His mercy

to deliver/raise us from the death state.  Adam was not deceived that 'he would not die" as Eve was. note Cain"s fear as a

wanderer and death seeking him.....  removing the 'fears' of God's judgememnts..and knowing Him as love..as our Father...

gives us 'courage' to draw near Him..which our very healing depends on.   Law and grace..judgement and mercy......

discipline and love..from our Father.  You can't discern a servant from a son when the son is immature...but come around

to the time of discipline..a servant loses his position in the household...and the son remains[even though disciplined, too]

there is a distinction a Father makes..'to a son that has served him"  Sarah..Typifying the free woman said'cast out that

bond woman and her son..for they shall not inherit"  God was showing that HIS SONS OF ADAM/MAN[SON OF GOD]

IN THEIR IMMATURITY[THE LITTLE CHILDREN WERE PARTAKERS OF FLESH AND BLOOD...AND SO,TOO,HE PARTOOK]

WERE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM A SERVANT[NO ISSUE FROM HIM]

GOD HAS POWER TO RAISE UP CHILDREN....RAISE A CHILD UP RIGHT AND HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM THE WAY

I AM THE WAY...WISDOM IS PROVED RIGHT BY ALL HER CHILDREN.......

Pre-existed the bite.
Adam and Eve ,the serpent and God.

The lie the serpent put forward was you will not die.
This lie Satan enjoyed giving to Eve.

Adam ,Eve and the serpent all had the knowledge of Good and Evil.

But they had no knowledge of God's mercy.

Man only truly realized the depth of God's mercy on the day of Calvary.

Before the cross Satan did not know of God's mercy.
He relentlessly accused man through the Law.
Trying to force God to his tipping point.

Satan still tries to get man to go to God through the Law.

Does the enemy know God is merciful.
The enemy now is laboring to convince man otherwise.

Does the enemy know more about God's justice.
He works through religion getting as many people as possible,
to continue to eat from the tree of knowledge of Good and evil.

Religion is the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Watch the churches and mosques and temples as they grow.

Mercy is God's nature he created it.
Mercy Mercy Mercy

The Holy Spirit revealing the cross. The tree of life.
His brother Jesus reintroduced him to his father,Adam calls God Abba once again.

IMO, God's mercy was revealed to man from the beginning, but it was not until Calvary that it was revealed in fulness. And it was not until the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that it was fully accessible.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,

Perhaps some of the greatest expressions of God's mercy are found in Psalms.

Psalm 51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Psalm 32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

Yes God provided access to his Mercy.
There was no one who went to God looking for Mercy, that did not find it.

But now God has given Mercy to all even those you do not believe .

God will have Mercy, and is having Mercy on those you do not teach the Mercy of God.
Those you teach the judgements of God without Mercy.
Even these are covered by the blood of the Lord.
