You know, I know that the word says we should have a spirit of peace, power, and a sound mind. But I find myself here lately becoming more and more fearful and afraid of the fact that there is SO much confusion and disorder in the church world.. and even more so about the fact that the economy is about to tumble and society will descend into chaos.
Some days I just want to die, because I am so tired of being in the middle of everything.
I guess I need a new focus, and I know that focus is supposed to be Yahshua, but I am having a hard time seeing through all of this crud!
:dontknow: :sigh: :mfrown:
I agree, it is sometimes very difficult and confusing to not only look at "the world", but also within the very body, the ecclesia. Even the strongest in the faith must at times be tempted to withdraw, give up, and walk away--"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. —1 Corinthians 10:13.
There's an old song by the Imperials from the 80's that says, "are you weary in well-doing, walking on the road to New Jeruselam...sometimes you just have to take a stand...standing's not another word for quittin', it's just taking the time to hold to His hand...so keep on walkin'..."
I don't know brother, sometimes we do just have to stand and let Him do the work in us...sometimes we're painfully aware that we're just not able and have to trust His good will, good intentions, and ability to do and give us what we need...trust...that when it's all said and done, it's about what He has done, not what we're able to do. I actually believe it's at those/these times, that in a paradoxical way, we're in our strongest position, because that's when we're "allowing"/recognizing His strength, as in "Your grace is sufficient", and "in my weakness You can be strong". God's blessing.
eirinikos,
I love your musical monkey
The best we can do is just know that God is in control and hand our cares to Him. In the end, Gods desire and plan for us is Good :HeartThrob:
eirinikos,
I can relate somewhat to what you are feeling. I'm facing a potential crisis myself right now, but I have decided just to place it on God's hands. It does help to know what kind of God he is. Years ago, I have fought with the angry God concept, and therefore the last person I would want to cast my cares upon is God. However, I have become more peaceful in recent years. Don't lose hope brother  In spite of my own trials, the last thing I want to do right now is die, even though I sometimes wonder if death is lurking around the corner.

:cloud9: Me too; I think most people are going thru a tribulation of some sort, as He finishes the work in us. We are fortunate in that we recognize what it is, and most of the world does not. Just have to keep your eyes on Him and bury yourself in the Word and meditate on that. It looks totally hopeless in the natural if I look at my own circumstances, much less the world's out there, but I refuse to look at it, and in so doing keep myself from despair by looking at Him. Keep your head up, it's always darkest before the dawn. Blessings to you.......
One verse of scripture that has brought me comfort when dealing with the subject of this thread or during times of doubt and feeling down is: Psalms 46:10
Be still and know I am God
the message of the word in the beginning of that verse has brought me more rest than I can measure. Reminds me of when I was a boy of about 12 years I got very upset
with something mean and hurtful our nieghbors son and his father had said about me that was not true, later at home I became angry and shaking, my father told me "be still, still yourself and forget what they said to you and by tomorrow it will be forgotten' and sure enough what my father had said that day was true, time itself heals many wounds.
Some are called to preach, some are called to teach, some are called to minister in some area or another and I believe some of us are called to simply be laborers, some do these things naturaly without forcing themselves or putting up a traditional stero type front, remembering that all Glory goes to God puts teeth on being still and knowing God is in control, so some of us are called to just be still and know God is God and know that the flesh profits nothing weather it is busy working in rest or just being still in rest.
Peace,
Fire Walker
Hi Eirinikos,
1Pe 1:7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Maybe sometimes just living in a fallen world is a test by fire. Just being a witness to the hurt and pain of the world can be abusive.
Stay in the race.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but this is exactly what happened to me when I finally decided I could never be a member of an ET denomination. Over my 30 or so years of church attendance, I picked up all kinds of doctrines, beliefs, truths and untruths. When it was just me and God I felt so raw.....kind of like someone had rubbed my skin with sandpaper and left my wounds wide open.
Give yourself time Erinikos.....it can take a few years to sort it out. But, we are all different and only God knows what you need to know and when you need to know it. Just remember too that the more you know the less you know. In other words your journey with God will never end until you see Him as He is in all His glory and splendour.
