Okay, so in Romans 11:32 it says:
QuoteFor God has consigned (penned up) all men to disobedience, only that He may have mercy on them all [alike].
Do you think that mankind has been penned up in their physical bodies? Not so much that we're "trapped" in our bodies. But do you think that God purposely created man as human beings knowing that this would lead to our disobedience? Because, and I don't know about you, but it seems like so many of my mistakes are brought about because of body. Such as sexual lusts ("hormones raging"), and getting angry when I haven't eaten enough food, and getting depressed/angry because of my OCD.
(I'm not saying anger in itself is a sin, simply that anger often leads to sin.) Sometimes it seems more like my body is what is causing me to sin, as opposed to my thoughts. Because, I know that my thoughts are generally on the good side of things, but my body seems like it likes to mess with me. So, when Paul talks about the war between the flesh and the Spirit, sometimes it really feels like it's my physical flesh!
What do you guys think of this idea?

Maybe the answer is: If you know the answer you are no longer trapped. :dontknow:
I have an article in my files somewhere on this,
but there is a scripture that SAYS
'OTHER LORDS BESIDE THEE HAVE HAD DOMINION OVER OUR BODIES>
and then we are waiting for the redemption of our "bodies."

Thanks RLV,
It's fascinating how the obvious can be so obscure.
QuoteWhat do you guys think of this idea?
Dear brother TimB
It was the Apostle Paul himself who wrote to the Thessalonians saying; "....[that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness." (2Thess.2:9-12).
Indeed we are penned up in disobedience because the deluding spirit we are under makes sure that we believe the LIE and reject the TRUTH.
But the answer to this is also given; "But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." (2Thess.2:13-15).
Question:- Are we being obedient? We think we are because of the deluding spirit, but are we really? Are we following the example set out for us by the Apostles and by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself; 1)..... "
I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." ( Jn.5:30)
2)..... "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even
come on My own initiative, but He sent Me." (Jn.8:42)
3).....
"For I did not speak on My own initiative , but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." (Jn.12:49-50).
4)....."Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you
I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works". (Jn.14:10).
5)......"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth;
for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." (Jn.16:13).
When we in our hearts can honestly say that we do all the Father's will as our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ so obediently displayed then we can expect the veil of the deluding spirit to be lifted and see the TRUTH clearly. "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART AND DO NOT LEAN ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING" (Pro.3:5)
Love is of God....... Love is God....... This comes to all in love

yeah,
and Jesus warned there would be those thinking they were
doing the Father's will and would kill you,too
I think you got it backwards,Bro. I think the deluding spirit has
to be removed before you can be obediant to God's will.
