I was watching an episode of "Paladin" or actually, it was called "have gun will travel"... Anybody seen that show? It's likely from the 60's? Black and white.. Boy they wrote good stories in those days. The bad guys were the bad guys and they got their butts whupped in the end! And that, I'm prone to thinking, is the way it should be..

Not a mean God! :laughing7: He is, really, quite the 'softy' though, don't you think? I can't possibly buy into that whole scenario where our heavenly Father wakes up all those who passed away without ever being reconciled to Him through Jesus.. great and small.. all those throughout history who never heard the gospel. Gonna wake 'em up, judge 'em all harshly, and dump 'em in the lake of fire?

He endowed us with thinking ability. But how easily it is overthrown! :laughing7:

Thanks! I felt like posting a rant!

I'm thinking these two poles between judgment and mercy/love, in God, are balanced! ..perfectly..

I'm going to re-read EW's post about Yahweh's administration God is using, starting this age, next age, and the age after that.. (?I think)
After that being the age of "all in all"..

.."who then is the faithful servant who will be found of Him when He comes giving food.." (mt 24) "lovest thou me? ...feed my sheep.." (Jn)

As soon as one enters God's kingdom (believes & follows Jesus) it begins.. what an adventure! Even the process of purification (repentance) is beautiful.. full of grace.. No reason for anyone to "fear" (terribly) Him.. Even the most despicable abuser of people after going through the washing, will be His child..

But what of all those people all through history who mostly were for large part "the abused"..? Will God be harsh? Was He with you? With me? ..not too.. not at all, actually.. How terrible has He been really? I'm thinking not much..

Ooops! gotta run! :Peace2:   happy sunday..

I recall a brief    little book about ''  Your God is to small  ''

and how the modern man has    very little room left for the TRUE AND LIVING GOD  :sigh:

Staying in His Word as well as  keeping His Word to the  jot and tille of the laws working in us
both laws     brings life and death to us ..
Jesus is the reward  !!

The thinking ability is definitely there. Many philosophers have influenced man's opinion considerably. So-called experts have deviated from the truth so far yet many know no different.
We are to call no man teacher, yet we do.
A wicked and adulterous nations seek signs, yet these seem to be happening among many religions.
We are to seek first the kingdom, yet many are indoctrinated to value the things of this temporary life.
I love the illustration of a kid in the playground being watched by a parent. The parent lets the kid just go crazy and have fun. Sees the child doing some not so smart things, yet does not correct because the parent knows this is just a drop of water in the  ocean of life- is in there, just not a problem.
Our Father knows everything. Has a plan for us all as His beloved children in Christ. Did this plan before making the world.
Has not deviated from the plan. The plan is just starting to unfold nicely. He is only revealing that plan bit by bit to the people involved in the first part; then will unfold that before others as they too become involved.
All pretty brilliant and strategic really.

Where is there any wimp in that equation?

  Clearly well said, Ross

My 2 1/2 year old grandson was  following his dad  down the slide today in the park   , he went without   fear  or protection , they  ''both parents''  watched  and cringed   , he  got busted up badly and   bawled like a champ   and blamed the  slide   for hurting him ...

One day he will know , but today  his  troubles were adequate  in themselves

Matt 6 Do Not Worry
...33"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Right on!  :iagree:

There are enough troubles in one day without getting stressed about all the others that might happen.
Look back on our own life. Can probably list heaps of events that were not pretty at the time. So much so that if had known what was going to happen would have avoided things. Unfortunately the avoidance would be pretty much like putting a kid in a bubble.
Wisdom come from experience. No experience- no wisdom.
Hebrews 12 says all that well.

Amen   sista Marie !!!

I can recall a  man   worried about his wife , while waiting at pizza hut  years ago  and an opportunity to speak about God to a ''stranger ''

I believe faith has to be ''developed    and matured  '' though experiences   ,  just as Hope and Love   do   also

Those  3 things   help us'' remain  ''in Christ  gift  of  grace

The image  or imagination  could think  rationally  that this world could be like heaven  , as carnal babes ..

I was under this delusion    or imaginations   like that  mans wife was ,  '' Oh ye of little faith ''   If God is   with us ,'Why is the world in such opposition ?

The peaceful answer  did not come till years and experiences later  , Staying in the Word  and reading it , ,  that hunger even come from God to keep looking   for Hope   in the midst of chaos,
My Kingdom is NOT of this world  ,  those things are ABOVE way above   the  body of death    only this world   holds to  ..

Every knee will  bow  , even those whom do not know God intimately will   when  meeting Him face to face , we have the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ  , the  intercessor    as the help between the  great gulf  fixed ,    Jesus is the bridge over troubled waters  , the  every thing,  the way  , the path , the hope ,the love, the all   part   missing of the WHOLE TOTAL     that the world cannot  see for being blinded   ,    without Him we can do nothing   ...

I thank God   the Father for the Lord Jesus Christ coming when  He did and   waiting  for     WHOLE / RETURN

As we becomes the lambs  of His sheepfold  ,  struggling in our own blood    , you have not strived against sin   Hebrews 12

4You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; 5and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;...

So many of  those here  at the  Tentmaker  have this in common     and  have done this very thing required  I believe  !

All things in common  IS KNOWING    IT IS   ALL THE LORD     and not of ourselves !!   ACTS 4 Sharing among Believers

32And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own,

but all things were common property to them.

33And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all....

so true, so simple, speaks volumes! of which I dont do enough off. God will look after us I need to spend time on today, not worrying to much for tomorrow!

thanks for this!
