What does it mean that God is just?

I searched for the topic "justice" and couldn't find this, but the forums are pretty huge so sorry if this is a re-post.

This is my favorite line: "God is love, but he's also just!!!"

What does that even mean? That justice is locking someone into a prison cell and sustaining them just so they can remain miserable for longer?

How can God's justice even be used as an argument for eternal Hell?

Yes, God is just, so ask yourselves a question what is justice? Justice is making wrongs right.  :2c:

So which is a better fulfillment of justice:

1) Leaving someone in a state of evil and misery, while causing them to suffer

2) Reforming someone's heart so they never do anything bad again?

Seems like a shoe-in to me.  :2c:

This should be obvious, IMO.

I shouldn't be bitter though.

Yes, He chastises us for our own good, so that we can share in His righteousness. His judgments are always unto victory.

If justice is to make wrings right, then God has a very different way of doing so.  Men all too often prefer to bring about "justice" by violence.  God brought about justice by dying in our place, an action that should amaze the very wise.  Now we are expected to believe that the same God, who went to the trouble of suffering and dying for us, is going to toss most of those He suffered and died for into Hell for eternity...no, I don't think so.  Indeed, He lets us off easy.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

...one aspect of His justice that I greatly appreciate, has to do with HIS 'JUDGEMENT"  and impresses

me with His 'fairness" and being no respector of persons.

AS ALL HAVE BORE THE IMAGE OF THE CORRUPTIBLE ONE,SO TOO<SHALL WE ALL BEAR THE IMAGE

   OF THE INCORRUPTIBLE ONE.

GOD HAS BOUND UP ALL MEN IN SIN[blanket judgement that all have fallen short..break one law and

you are guilty of breaking them all] IN ORDER THAT HE MIGHT SHOW THEM ALL MERCY

For the creature was subjected to vanity...not of it's own will, but by the will of He who subjected it

in order to set the whole creation free into the Glorious Liberty of the Sons of God.

There is a recent thread on justice under the Discussions on Universal Salvation section on the home page.  It does get a bit heated though.  But you might wish to give it a gander.

These would be the people who agree with a sentence of life in prison.  I guess if you are an immortal, life in prison means forever.

Life in prison has never made much sense to me unless the person is clearly a menace to society and has to be locked up like an animal.   But, for most it is a horrible sentence, devoid of hope or mercy.  I can't understand how this sentence can be handed out so casually to so many.

Therefore, God is not like us in this sense--He has mercy.

It means that he doesnt ban poor innocent (and incredibly handsome and enchanting individuals) like marcmarc from forums!  God is just!  He forgives!  He LIFTS the ban!  LIFFFFFFTTTTsSsSSSs ahhhHHHhhhh thee ban! Oh yeah!

ded2daworld

OK marcmarc, I've read enough of your baloney. Acting like the wronged person, poor little handsome bighunk. What you're doing is making nice with the members so that the moderators look bad because the members don't know you're full story. It is also a violation to get back on under a different name when banned so you're obviously not following the guidelines.
You said you would go and not come back if a moderator asked you to. So Please,
Leave and don't come back.
Any member that has a problem with it can blame me.

I hear what your saying.  But it's not true.  I can see how it could look that way to some people, but it's not true.  Anyone who knows most of the mods on here knows they are not like that, they are hardly going to side with me...Most folks on here just want to see us all getting along, which is what Im hoping for.
In my opinion, i dont think i should have been given a lifetime ban.  I don't think i deserved that in the least, i will be honest about that.  And even since ive been back, vinebranch has called me names etc, but its ok for HIM to get away with it for some reason.
But that's fine. I'm only here to try to clear my name and be welcomed by those who did like me, which i think is fair, and good for everyone and to try to make things better between myself and the people who dont like me.
I ask that you show some forgiveness, and ask why you would be so personally offended by me calling a member a troll, when clearly he was 'trolling', (and still is, and still is name calling me....and getting away with it).

Thanks for banning me again.  What exactly am i doing that makes you hate me so much?  Why one rule for someone and another for someone else?
It's so sad, there are a lot of good people on here, and it's ruined when people like you behave like that. You secretly called me troll when you banned me too. I'm not a troll.

jesusloves

What of love and forgiveness....Do you even know God?  Your behaving very unlike Him.  Let's try to fix this, I'm asking you as a friend.

eaglesway

Love and forgiveness doesn't mean letting someone do whatever they want whenever they want however they want.

Hey, if the other moderators want to let you stay on as jesusloves they can make you a moderator in my place, it's OK with me. I see what you are doing and am astounded so many members are falling in line to your pleadings even though banned means BANNED, not come back under another name and whine and plead about how unfair I am.
