just another perspective on "watch" and "when you see"... sorry, it's so sketchy, but I don't have time to type out all the Scriptures...however, I wanted to share this from my notebook full of notes (mostly scriptures) from a study on the word "watch" ...
Jesus: "Watch and pray"
in garden Gethsemane
Matt 26:41
Mark 14:38
Jesus: Watch and pray"
re: end times
Mark 13:33
Luke 21:36
=====================
Jesus: "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies" "when you see the abomination of desolation" flee to the mountains.... pray
Luke 21:20-21..... v 36 pray
Mark 13:14-15..... v 33 pray
Matt 24:15-16 ..... v 20 pray
May I ask what you would pray for/about.
Love Julie :HeartThrob:
yes,Anna...prayer is PARAMOUNT in order that we may be able .toescape these thingscoming
on the entire inhabited earth
Luke 21;36 Be always onthe watch and pray..that ye may be able to escape all
that is about to happen, and that ye may be able tostandbefore the SON OF MAN
I sure hope I do not ruin this thread for you Anna. I have learned much about prayer from experience and most is not pretty. Looking back, I wasn't much more than a spoilt child, essentially nagging Father for something. It was like I didn't even think He heard me the first time, so that there was no way that He heard me the second. Did He ever hear me? :dontknow:
Well of course He did, before I even voiced my prayer. These were the days before I realized the my wants far outweighed my gratitude. When I looked long a deep, I found I was using Father like he was Santa Clause. Shame on me. I had so much to be thankful for, so much He has given me that only ever received a cursory "thanks."
Well that has changed. My prayers are now giving Thanks for all Father has done for me and His children. If I ask anything, it is for wisdom and strength to be of the highest good for all concerned. During the oppression that is to come in the last days, I hope my prayers will still be gratitude based and that I will still be asking for what ever I need to be the greatest good during this time. I truly believe that Father will protect those that never lose sight of His Love. Truly, it is not my life to lose, it's Fathers. This will be truly a time of remembering.
This might sound self centered; but I believe "each" person will go through this "alone." Perhaps Father would cut it short if enough prayed for Him to stop? Although, I truly believe if all of His Children of the Spirit are fearless in the face of adversity, giving of themselves without constraint, the tribulation will be short indeed. This time will be IMO a Test of Faith more than anything else.
Is not Faith, knowing that Father has equipped oneself with all that is needed?
Just my thoughts.....

Flee to the mountains... spiritually speaking I wonder what this means? And if the mountain of the house of the Lord is meant?
Isaiah 2:2-3 ESV
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord , to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Thanks Sheila (Luke 21:36) and Lomarah (Isaiah 2:2-3)...
I am printing in large bold letters on the cover of my "To do" notebook: PRAYER IS PARAMOUNT... thanks Sheila... for this and the many, many scriptural insights you bring to this forum.
Lomarah... I especially needed to be directed to Isaiah 2:2-3-- as I have been thinking, pondering a great deal on "flee to the mountains". Thanks so much. (You've been on my mind and in my heart these past several days and I've asked the Lord to consider my every thought of you to be a prayer for you...)

Mountain XRef
Rev 21:10
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Jerusalem the HOLY City.....
Rev 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Rev 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

there was a man named Doug..that wrote some very nice articles about the mountains
being the promises of God,onthis forum.......Anna...

Ok I never looked at it that way before Sheila, I was thinking the mountain must be symbolic for something/someone. For example WW and I were talking about this the other day and he said mountains represent authority. And that in every religion there is a "mountain" (ie the pope, etc). I was wondering if the mountain of the house of the Lord might represent Father. WW wondered if it might represent Jesus. Just throwing out our ponderings lol.
Anna you are the sweetest lol ever. ;) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your thoughts and prayers! :HeartThrob:

Thank you seems like such a small way to express my gratitude to Sheila...
I started this thread mainly to show that there is yet another way to respond to the end times desolation, etc.,... I truly believe that I have been called to pray... and have often felt like the sparrow
alone watching on the housetop (place of prayer) I have been wondering, pondering on "flee to the mountains" and you and lomarah really gave me much to consider... and, yes, I typed in the search area "Doug mountains promises" and received 20-24 posts re: mountains/promises in several threads and yes, I have already printed all these...
God is so precious... I just wanted to share my perspective on watch/when you see and He gave me a wealth of Scriptures and insights by Sheila, Lomarah, Doug... again, thank you so much...
QuoteIsaiah 2:2-3 ESV
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
King of kings.

Above all other authority.
Imo that Jewish rhyme. Repeat the same thing in different words.
Hills=mountains.
Quoteand all the nations shall flow to it,
Rev king marching to New Jerusalem
Quoteand many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord , to the house of the God of Jacob,

Rhyme.
Law=Word. Zion=Jerusalem

Singular would have made more sense. -> Flee to God.
Plural Mt. Olives + Temple Mount?

[Yet,I amnot alone for my Father is with me]
This is an interesting topic. Thanks Anna :HeartThrob:
I asked a very simple question at the beginning of this thread: What would you pray for/about?
Don't worry, it is a difficult question.
I write none of this lightly as this tears me to my core. Father has been so loving and kind to me and I have done so little for Him. Truly, He has given each of us all that we could ever possibly need.
Eph 6:13-18
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.
Keep praying for all the Lord's People......
As the Lord's we are told not to worry
Mat 6:25
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Mat 6:28
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Mat 6:31
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
Mat 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Mat 10:19
But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say,
Mar 13:11
Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
Certainly with the full Armor of Father and Hs assurance that all will be provided; worry should be off the table. We must Trust Father in everything.
Rom 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Father is so gracious in that He provides for our every need and asks nothing but our trust. Those who trust him are even given another precious gift, an over abundance of hope in all that Father has planned.
Paul spoke much on thanking Father.
2Cr 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
1Cr 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Phl 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Col 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving
1Cr 15:57
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through faith we can be strong
1Cr 16:13, 14
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Do everything in love. :HeartThrob:
I truly believe that we are all one in the body of Christ. On a more personal note, I have loved ones going through difficult times. Father knows this way more than I, so I send my Love with the request that it be used to the highest good for all. I send love to those who hate us, for surely they need our love more than our hate. I believe that Spirit and communicate with Spirit at a much closer level than any other medium. The medium of Spirit is LOVE.
I thank Father for Love He has allowed flow through me. I truly believe that by asking Father to help me replace anger, hurt and despair with the warmth of Love to the highest good for all, is something that I can do. If this world is lacking anything it is LOVE. Love Heals, Love Creates, Love is Light and Love is Peace.
So, I thank Father constantly for even the smallest of things and I am sure that little love that I am, is making a small difference somewhere. :HeartThrob:
