Unforgiveable Sin

Repented means to have a change of mind, reason differently. i do not, imo, consider it to be a "i am sorry" kind of thing as much as beginning to KNOW.
1Co 2:16  for who did know the mind of the Lord that he shall instruct Him? and we--we have the mind of Christ.

..to me, it would depend on how grievous the lie was, and how much harm it did, if lots, perhaps it would make you feel better to send a brief letter apologizing.. or it could just open up a wound? I would seriously think about and pray about that.. would it be a blessing to that one, or a curse? If a blessing, then perhaps you may indeed want to contact them..

I am probably the opposite of you.. I expect myself to slip.. yep, I've even been known to cuss.. just this morning as a matter of fact.. I say "oops, sorry Lord!" and mean it, and then I forget about it.. Past sins way in the past.. I forget those, they are "under the blood".. I sometimes over eat.. I've been known to get crabby (menopause, oops did I say that out loud?)

I figure I have ONE RULE - love God.. which is a verb. And I do it by daily seeking Him in prayer and bible reading.. in quiet moments with Him.

One of my favorite sayings is to "cut people some slack" as I myself am so far from perfect..

I think it's the Lord who showed me I should also cut myself some slack..

I figure that's all part of "entering His rest" and Jesus being that rest.. Of course if I was fornicating or defrauding folks, I would take those sorts of sins very seriously. But if we are LOVING HIM, we don't want to do those grievous sorts of things.. nor harm others..

I pray the Lord will let you know if you should call, write or what not the person you feel you grieved.. that you will just KNOW.. what to do, or not to do..

It cost Jesus a lot.
I mean he gave everything and held nothing back,
So that he is able to say you are forgiven.
We are not so special that our sin is greater than his forgiveness.
We are required to walk in that forgiveness Dailey, no matter what else.

thank you....some how i keep thinking i am some profound exception to what he accomplished on the cross...i was asked if i think he should have suffered more to cover it all....i so misunderstood so much for a long time...i did not even know what grace really was until sometime last year when all this was beginning...and i was supposed to be a christian for 21 years

Hi LandB,

God does not hate sin like man hates anything..................God thoroughly understands sin.  To sin is to miss the mark..........as in archery.  God does not hate the fact that we miss the mark.............He gets it, and ordained it as part of our experience.  Sin harms us, but in no way harms God.  We learn to overcome sin.  It may take many times of missing the mark before we beat a particular fault.  God does not leave us or forsake us because of our sin............He is always there to help us to decide to overcome.

Every one of us struggles with sin.  Every one of us knows the mercy of God for our sin.  For me the worst sin is to fall short of love.  Love is a spiritual practice.  We have a perfect example of love in Jesus Christ.

We will most definitely fall short of love on occasion.............but we see it!  That is the glory!  We see where we fall short, so we have the desire, and the help to overcome the next time.  The Christian life is truly a great adventure every day.  Our faith is so deep and multifaceted that it blows the mind.

God is teaching us to think...........to think Godly.  It is an awesome privilege to have this precocious daily faith, that always leads us to love more and more.
