I am looking for a good word study on how this term is used.
It seems to me that end timers want to put the "day of the Lord" as end times for judgments that have already occurred.

I think the Bible pattern is repeating itself. God judged Israel 2000 years ago leaving behind only a remnant (even before 70AD at the time of national blindness) of believers to spread the word to the Gentiles. I believe this will be repeated in a future day of the Lord for the Israel that bears Christ's name. :2c:
