usually we talk about salvation by grace through faith only in connection with Jesus. This is at least how St Paul has spelled out salvation theory.
But I have come to also see a salvation by love through the Father's work. Jesus, in a way, brought us the Father and brought to light the new belief in God that would come to everyone hearing of him - and which would stay with us if we wanted it.
When it comes to faith I don't see it as a jurisdicial necessity anymore. I see it as an ontological necessity - for when we do not believe in God anymore, we cease caring for participation in God, it is AS IF the things of God don't exist anymore (although in reality they do continue to exist).
One deep matter that I found recently was the connection of Jesus' appearance with the coming end of the then jewish system of religion in Israel. In my understanding, when Jesus died and rose from the dead, Abba stopped being the God of only Israel and became instead something like a wandering doctor. The jews were not abandoned by they stopped being a people with a land belonging to them.
The salvation in God the Father is long term and mysterious, but sometimes it shoots right through into our reality. And while Jesus is important, we can see salvation not only in the son but also in the father. God is not good cop and bad cop. God is wholly good.
