Hi guys!
Well Hello Girl ,
How been Colleen ? you have been missed here at the Tentmaker :friendstu:
Being bold, as I have been in times past, just where are all these former posters? Have you quit? Found a new home? Grown weary of the/our rhetoric? It does seem strange that some who were certainly stalwarts, even moderators have been given to silence longer than usual.
It is certainly curious, but I pray that there is a place found...a rest, perhaps. I as all the others wonder. :Chinscratch:
Hi all, So who Posts?
Seems like different types of people who have an interest in forums:
Those who are curious and want to read posts.
Those who are curious to the point they join but do not post much.
Those who only post when they have something that is scripturally stimulating to them.
Those who post as a form of fellowship for whatever reason.
Those who post as something needful for their spiritual development.
Others post or visit and lose interest after a while.
And still others post for reasons that you may think of.
I would be very interested in knowing how many members of this forum are also members of other similar forums.
:dontknow:
Joe
You Joe, form my point can continue to be curious. The brothers and sisters mentioned have had worthy posts afore. I, me myself, just wonder of their well being. Like all good things, of worth, they will again emerge, hopefully with wealth, of some value... to expound, or a story of their search that will keep us anticipating. Ah Glory! :dsunny:
Hi everybody, I'm still here not saying much same as in real life, but read a lot of the posts. They are pretty important to me and I feel like this is like a special family.
Remember Miss Zoolander. She has been gone a long time and was having a rough time last she checked in.

Thanks onlytruth... for me, a second witness to your encouraging post was this morning's devotional...
My Utmost for His Highest (Oswald Chambers) for March 10
last paragraph
"Allow God to have complete liberty in your life when you speak. Before God's message can liberate other people, His liberation must first be real in you. Gather your material carefully, and then allow God to "set your words on fire" for His glory."
I'm here - multiple times daily (usually 8-10 times). Blessings :)
Thanks, needed that. I need to put on that "appearance," I speak to much and listen to little, been a weakness of my for awhile. :2c: :dsunny: :Peace2:
Hi Rose and all. I have a fantastic group of fb "universalist" (not too fond of labels but ya know I needed a word) friends. Pastors even! Seems the good news is spreading like wild fire with the dawning of Aquarius. I often see a link to a tentmaker article when a fundie comes on a thread with honest questions, wanting to leave that awful hell doctrine but not sure how.
Also I do end a lot of time being still and knowing. Christ is my sabbath rest! 24/7!
You all helped me so at a deep dark time and I'll always remember that!
And Sheila, you're still the bomb! And now when i come on I even understand your posts much better. You were an anchor to me. I still remember many things you told me from our chats. Would love to do breakfast again! :girlheart:

each member posts lots, it's blogging for all, so I link posts which are faith based - meta tags put the posts in search engines too..
planning a post "coming out of the closet about UR!!" this sunday morning if the Lord guides so..
God bless!! I LOVE Tentmaker Forums!!!! :dsunny: :cloud9:
I, me, personally an beginning to understand.
I'll tell you all one thing though. For all the members it lost, this forum has still retained some top notch universal salvation thinkers.
I, me, personally do not believe this site has lost any, a recess at time for one, is welcome and needed.
I agree. Not "lost" more like, on a different path for a while. I was away for a few years myself.

With Sheila, Rosered, Eaglesway, Marie Glenn, Anna and Jabcat, when he can, I have been blessed by y many deep and rich perspectives, even though the volume of posts overall have tapered off. I definitely don't think this form is lacking in depth.
Abusiveness is in check here now as well, something sorely lacking in the past.
You know Seth, that's the first time I've heard you say something I didn't like. I think you guys need to get off your high horse and be a bit more charitable to those who are not in your "inner circle".
I have learned things from mere babes in the Lord, I'm sorry I haven't attained to your standard.
Jock.
I didn't mean to make it sound like an inner circle. I don't think of it that way. I just threw out some examples. I have greatly enjoyed your posts too.
OK then, lets just drop it. I learn from the members you mentioned too. Thing is, we all need each other, we all bring bread to the table, but I know you know that.
Well, shucky darns, we cool?
Shalom
Jock.
we KNOW every good gift and perfect gift is from the Father of Lights and does not change
Jesus Christ is our greatest gift of Mercy and grace given by God for all of us
I dont see anyone diffent than the other,,,,, all are in Christ
and Christ is good to all of us
Love you all in Jesus and hope we all can agree on that much , its a good start
for me I dont mind the sparks of kindling our hearts and the conflict that rises up at times to me much more fruit is produced by them conflicting views as we eat of them
Noted that many times Gods blessings come in the midst of Chaos as the Lord divides what is spirit is spirit and what is flesh is flesh and the type of spirits we are of ..
all have a purpose and we learn from them ...
Love is the greatest thing we can show and make known but must be sincere and real and from GOD not from us , but the knowledge of good and evil only fuel the fires
I see separation of the carnal and spiritual experiencing the fires in two different ways often and especially within my own being often
but Know that God has not forsaken us , not any of us and that is a good thing
I would miss and do miss many that have been in our lives over the years and always thankful for the new ones as well , we live by faith in the Lord and what He wants not by what we think is right because God knows what is right of everyone of us
learning to ask lots of questions and trusting Him to answer in whatever ways He chooses to is like
being like a little one and love being His little one !
just precious the both of you !
I love seeing the goodness of God overcome within all of us here there and yonder

Of course. I didn't realize getting specific would come across that way. I really enjoyed our exchanges on the future Gehenna thread and the Nephalim thread. Good stuff.
My whole point is that I think this forum, overall, is as deep and mature as I have ever seen it, and I have been here on and off for 8 years now. Sure, the volume of posts has decreased, but I think the understanding is still strong as ever with much less fighting.
Love you, brother.

There is no call for people to be attacking and abusing other people. The Apostles called for discipline for abuse and this forum has it among its leaders. There is a price for ignoring bad behavior.
Lack of peace should be about truth vs. untruth, not about blatant abuse of one person upon another.
Well, we're not into numbers anyway. You're right Seth, I was on Tents about 3 or 4 years ago and there was a lot of fighting. Not conducive to eating bread and drinking blood with Christ.
It's a lot different now :Peace2:
I find that many posts have real spiritual meat. For that I am grateful. I have not been here often but I am finding it profitable spiritually. And I am happy that arguing and intended controversy is not dominant.
:gimmefive:
Personally what i witnessed in what maybe called arguing is doctrinal. Like trinity, water baptism, a soul like the "immortal" soul, man having free will, and the big one "soul sleep." stuff like that. :2c:
For those who may not know, it was decided several years ago that name-calling, insulting, people declaring their long teachings of aberrant theology such as saying the cross wasn't necessary, the scriptures were suspect, and about whatever else goes or people wanted to ARGUE about, would no longer be prevelant on the boards. Gary also said there should be a respect for scripture. It is an agreed-upon approach. Gary trimmed the boards from so many different categories, and also said he wants a focused forum; focused on the Victorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, rather than a general, open, "anything goes" forum like exist elsewhere. Of course many people didn't like it, and most of them went elsewhere. Most who stayed share in unity and peace, attempting to build up the body.
Gary owns the site and he wants a forum that fits certain criteria, like anyone else who has their own privately owned site. He doesn't want the distractions of fighting and open teaching of aberrant doctrines that are OBVIOUSLY against the scriptures (much room is given for varying interpretation within the scriptures, but still, not just anything goes like on some sites I've visited and like some people want.) I think Gary and the forum would rather have a smaller group of active members who know how to get along and share with each other in a helpful way, building others up, who are then able to help folks who pass through and might be looking for help. That's Gary's mission for the boards. In essence, people that are here to fellowship and help, not here to fight, complain, and be a put off to those hurting and searching. Gary realizes TM does not fit everyone's wishes, and he's OK with that.

Thanks so much. Definitely an answer to the question/prayer I had these past few days regarding what Gary was hoping to accomplish with Tentmaker Forum.
"Fellowship and help... focusing on the Victorious Gospel of Jesus Christ..."
re: "...know how to get along and share with each other in a helpful way, building others up..." Sometimes, I am very unhappy with myself because I don't reach out--- I don't put my arms around the hurting ones... and I am so grateful that we do have a few members that do that very graciously and lovingly. But, I also know that my way of "sharing"... "getting along with others" is acceptable and appreciated and so I don't remain unhappy with myself...
yw :)
I posted regularly here for a while and I still return to read, not just the threads but the wealth of material there is on the home page. I found this forum very shortly after first coming across the concept of universalism and everyone was very welcoming and kind and I learnt a lot - and am still learning. I am not much of a poster on any forum these days but I continue to read and study. Tentmaker will always have a special place in my heart as the place where I first saw that there were other people who really did believe that the good news is that good.
