Interpretation of the Unpardonable Sin

One thing I have asked believers concerning this is...

"Have you never wept and gnashed your teeth, as the fiery light of the Lord Jesus surrounded the stronghold that was exalting itself against the true knowledge of God? As the flood of waters brought you to the awareness of what your stubbornness produced and prevented?

As the fire in His eyes penetrated the veil of your lie and forced the hidden attitude you were cuddling in the dark up from the deep, did you never wail, at least within, and writhe like a worm in the fire with regret and remorse for your sins?

I know that I have. It is no strange language to me. It is not a bad thing, tho it may for a time be an unpleasant thing. And being thus surrounded by the glory of His goodness and grace- falling to my knees within and confessing that he alone is righteous, and pleading with Him to deliver me, and forgive me, and change me from what I have been to what He will have me be.

I confess that as often as I feel as tho I have come to rest, I find He takes me again back out into the wilderness and the testing begins again.

"What!? I thought I was made to lie down beside still waters and to graze in green pastures!"

"Yes", he replies, "I, the Lord, am your gentle shepherd, but today I must lead you again into the valley of the shadow of death and comfort you with my rod and my staff. Today I must lead you in paths of righteousness for my names sake".

So who would deny the wicked their Day in the fire?..... I assure you they will Praise God for it as they emerge from their testing and trying and purging, converted and released from the heavy bondage of their carnal nature.

Heb 12:5-13

You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;

and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,
"MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;

FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."

It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.

I think the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost has to do with rejection of forgiveness. It was also the guild of Judas Iscariot - he despaired and did not trust Jesus to save him. Moreover, we have to think of demons and of the devil who can cause us to say blasphemies we would normally never say. Ultimately though every sin is covered by Christ's cross. A murderer has done something worse than a blasphemer. But God in his incredible love and mercy wants to forgive all sin. That is why we need to ask for forgiveness, and in this way God's forgiveness even cancels out blasphemy of the spirit. It's always the devil's influence and this shows that the devil is not forgiven. He commits the blasphemy of the Spirit everytime and works against him, and he causes normally innocent humans to follow him in that. God recognizes sin done in unbelief and ignorance not to weigh so heavy. And Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Sin destroys us but Jesus and His cross are the ultimate antidote. In the end all are forgiven.

Amen! I think the translation would read more accurately if it said "unable to be forgiven" at the time! and not "unforgiveable"!

Blasphemy against God's Holy Spirit is evidence, I believe of devout, stubborn, determined, even angry(?) unbelief. Such unbelief, while held to, imo, is unable to be forgiven..

But.. we know, every knee shall bend.. all families of the nations will rejoice.. He is able. Able to reach every heart and mind.. ultimately.

There are some Biblical Scholars who believe that the Unpardonable Sin only pertained to those in Lord Jesus' generation who saw his miracles in person but didn't believe.

Thats a reasonable perception to me. I think maybe in any generation where the Holy Spirit manifests on that level it could apply, but the basic principle of it rings true to me.

I do believe you all have made some excellent points , on Blaspheming the Holy Spirit in this whole thread ...
Anti-Niech , Judas is a good example of tasting the heavenly gift / call = Holy Spirit and ''stumbling in faith '' , But God is able to make him stand even after mortal death , that being a big lesson of itself , because being judged by the deeds done in the body and yet we still have a soul and Spirit that are yet to be dealt with after mortality/ death has destroyed the body in decay /seeing corruption :thumbsup:

What I love about Holy Spirit being the teacher and Comforter , is how much more learning and comforting comes from SALVATION , the saving grace by the WORD in Power by the Holy Spirit in power over the course of time for the lack of a better word .. :HeartThrob:

The Wisdom from above keeps teaching us and seals us , learning ALL ABOUT THE LOVE OF GOD being the greatest thing and all will KNOW THIS in the end
This knowledge is the Light/LIFE in the world /darkness and is spoken of of being meted out into mankind and the Life and Light gets brighter and Shines greater as to overcoming the darkness and ignorance of not knowing GOD . ...

John 1 3Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.

4In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it....

So is other words overcoming the world is overcoming the darkness/ignorance and understanding the difference BY THE LIGHT /LIFE in CHRIST and Christ means Anoint and the HOLY SPIRIT IS this anointing of HOLY OIL to keep the lamp/ EYE burning JESUS SAYS IN Luke 11 34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your vision is clear, your whole body also is full of light. But when it is poor, your body is full of darkness. 35 Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.... the error /sin that remains when one says they see and yet are blinded by their own eye /worldly thinking and doing ... This would be worldly wisdom that is earthly sensual and devilish according to James testimony And not the Wisdom from ABOVE and , That Jesus Christ IS fully /perfectly /and complete in the Wisdom of God being ''conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT '' and chaste virgin /pure mind /womb ... ....

Something recently in Revelation made a great ''impression '' as to what the Blaspheming the Holy Spirit can be the BEST example of, or represent in a figure of speech ...
Satan knowing the scriptures / Word of God , which is Jesus Christ the TRUTH AND THE WAY AND THE LIFE and yet accuses the brethren before GOD DAY /knowing the truth and night in the darkness and ignorance still ?
So is this WISDOM still the mixing between the two types known as Babylon ? We know all of the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ is the destruction of Babylon that started when JESUS HAD RISEN FROM THAT CROSS Being told it is the DAY /LIGHT of the LORD .and would intensify 7 times brighter than the SUN at NOONDAY as the scriptures prophesied long ago in Isaiah 30 and other places of old . as the Key to revelation is the number 7 times as the seals were opened and the BOOKS OPENED UP , this would melt the ''elements with fervent heat '' that being the LOVE FOR THE BRETHREN , and that GOD being the consuming fire of jealousy of burning Love that is stronger than death even ?

Rev12 The War in Heaven , I see this as satan loosing the position of exalted power , that seat or place in the mind /heart of mankind as JESUS rose up to take the place of the right hand as to be set in power over ''hell ''/ the grave /body of death and soul/''state of being or HEART of the earth /bodies ''held in death like a prisoner ,not understanding what LIFE is or means or KNOWING GOD , JESUS/WORD MADE FLESH /LIFE NOW being given , holding the keys /open understanding and satan loosing all power in the heart/mind and only able to use worldly wisdom to entice the body to error /sin by lusts of the flesh/ clay the weakest of elements
Many in their youth , me included, confused lusts with love and was confused as to the meaning and results of desires of the heart .

the deceiver of the whole world that lies in darkness /ignorance . He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Faith makes the mortal body dead /useless, because of sin error , you cannot act on what the mind conceives , if the mind / heart belongs to Christ
or becomes a part of that divine nature that is HOLY , a consuming fire of Gods Love and Spirit of truth and in the LIGHT no darkness can dwell because the Light consumes it :dsunny: :HeartThrob:

So satan has an END, this world is on fire , since the baptism of CHRIST ON THE CROSS BEING THE FIRST to cross over into the NEW AND LIVING WAY SITTING ON THE THRONE OF GLORY AND GRACE for all to join in as ONE .. REV 3;21To the one who is victorious, I will grant the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. BEING THE WHITE THRONE OF JUDGMENT ,being made white and worthy rev3 , the 7 eyes of the spirits and brightness of HIS COMING to us ....

So blaspheming the HOLY SPIRIT IS speaking evil against the very works that salvation comes THOUGH .. in a nutshell .. missing the mark of the Higher calling to RISE AND SHINE and come up here , Where the LIVING WATERS DWELL AND BE ONE as in ONE FAITH ONE HOPE ONE BAPTISM ONE GOD , all IN ''ONE CHRIST '' that is done already conquering the world/darkness /foolishness , as we work , JOINED TOGETHER ,AS ONE , till ALL BE in the HOLY ONE'' THE LIVING GOD ''...

It got me to thinking.. if our heavenly Father were to lose even one ..wouldn't that be darkness winning in that instance? And then could be said that darkness overcame the light..
