Title: how to be reconciled ?

In 2 cor 5:19 every sinner is reconciled
in 2 cor 5:20 reconciliation is not automatic
why ?

My take on it is this:

God removed the method by which he counted man's sins against him: The Law of Moses. It is now impossible to follow the Law, since the entire system has been removed. Now, we should be reconciled to God.

"For the carnal mind is EMNITY (strong opposition against) God" (Romans 8:7)

This is why, in context, Paul says that if any man is in Christ he is a new creation. The old mind is removed to be replaced with the Mind of Christ so that our minds are no longer in enmity against God.

"through Him to reconcile all to Him (making peace through the blood of His cross), through Him, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens" (Colossians 1:20)
