FRUIT IN THE FIRE
Sometime between Babylon conquering Judah and razing Jerusalem, God showed Jeremiah the vision of the very good and very bad figs. This is in Jeremiah 24:1-8, and the figs represented two classes of the people of Judah.
What makes fruit/people good? It is sort of Christianity 101 that only the Holy Spirit can do that. What is not so well known is that there are seven Spirits of God. The are mentioned four times in the Revelation, at 1:4, 3:1, 4:5 and 5:6, but to ID them, we must go to the Old Testament. We see them in Genesis 2:7, where God creates Adam, and in Isaiah 11:2, where the rest are listed. They are as follows:
1. The Spirit of Life
2. The Spirit of Wisdom
3. The Spirit of Understanding
4. The Spirit of Counsel
5. The Spirit of Might
6. The Spirit of Knowledge of God
7. The Spirit of Fear of God
Now the fruit of the Spirit, or the Seven Spirits, is as follows:
1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Forbearance
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self-Control
These are the Good Fruits, and we see in James 2:26 that "...as the body without the spirit [Spirit of Life] is dead, so faith without works is dead." The nine traits listed above are the works we build on the foundation of our faith, with the help of the Spirits.
On the other hand, the bad fruits of not having the Spirits are works as well, listed in Colossians 3:-8:
1. Fornication
2. Uncleanness
3. Inordinate Affection
4. Evil Concupiscence
5. Covetousness
6. Anger
7. Wrath
8. Malice
9. Blasphemy
10. Filthy Communication
Also refer to II Timothy, chapter 3.
Now if we compare the good figs/fruits/works of the Spirits of God, and compare them with the figs/fruits/works of the lack of having the Spirits, the following Scripture comes into sharp focus:
"11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." I Corinthians 3:11-15, KJV
This is how this writer interprets the passage: Verse 11 tells us who it applies to. Now some will insist it has only to do with the saved, or the church, but I note that Jesus the Christ is the Creator, the One Who sustains us and gives us life. Thus, no man can lay any other foundation than Him, for good or ill. Verse 12 gives us the figs, fruits, and works in new terms – gold, silver and precious stones for the fruits of the Spirits, and wood, hay and stubble for the fruits of not having the Spirits. Verse 14 promises reward for those who have gold/silver/precious stones left after the fire...and verse 15 predicts loss for those who have little or nothing after the fire, after the wood, hay and stubble are consumed. Please note as well, reader, that it is the WORKS that are burned up, not the person – they are "...saved; yet so as by fire." Saved! God's fire burns up works, not sinners, not the wicked. I see this as a purification, nevertheless, those whose works are burned up suffer loss, and what is the loss? I think it is the loss of the right to inherit in the Kingdom as co-heirs of Jesus the Christ: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." Romans 8:17, KJV Further, we have this from I John 3:2 -
"Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is." Those who suffer loss, if I am putting this together correctly, lose the right to inherit and worse, becoming like Jesus. Thus, we can understand Daniel 12:2 aside from everlasting punishment: "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

I see this as a purification,
Amen! A literal process.
I.M.O part of being purified completely is being shown what is being removed and why, so that the process makes sense and is fully appreciated for the totality of the plan/system which brings us to the real position of power and authority we have "In Christ!"
-just like we do not give a child a complicated piece of machinery/technology until they can grasp the power through the use of said equipment, until they have the pro's and con's pointed out; then they go through practical experience to re-enforce that info. They will make mistakes, but that is an essential part of learning. To know their mistakes have been paid for and are part of learning removes all insecurity and guilt- but realising, becoming aware of that plan only comes at their appointed time.
  Amen brothers!
Your analogy Lazarus - I loved! Especially the "Saved!" ...And how true it is!
...also the 7 spirits / essences (?) of God.. the fruits.. He is the vine, we are the branches.. to abide in Him is to produce that fruit. I think however that the 2nd resurrection will in time catch up to the 1st and all will be one in Christ Jesus.. just this morning I was thinking of how "obtaining our salvation/choice - being chosen.. in "obtain" is "by lot" .. and then I was thinking of the umim and the thumim, how they were used to cast lot for Gid's answer to something.. (it always seemed a little strange to me, but now I get it!) I love how life and his Word fits all together like pieces of a cosmic puzzle.. perfectly fit.. all things, pertaining verses, puntogether..
And the fruits.. gold, silver.. surviving the fires.. perfectly fit..
Amen Ross! Recently I was reading the parts in his Word which talks about his covenant /contract and how the guarantee.. pledge.. and "seal" is the Spirit in us.. of the bread (daily) and the wine, Jesus said this is the blood of the covenant.. no coincidence most stamps on scrolls etc are red..(?)
Our Father it seems to me is very methodical.. and I think this is a clue to all things..
...As is the FRUITS!

not to be a stick in the mud but wouldn't "the loss of the right to inherit in the Kingdom as co-heirs of Jesus the Christ" nullify "All in All"?
I love what you shared Laz , :HeartThrob:
wonderful ! made me think of the these also :HeartThrob: Matt 5 3
Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs are the Kingdom of God
Knowing our lack and need before Him and asking to be filled with and by His HOLY SPIRIT and not desiring our pitiful self serving , being evil spirit to rule our hearts any longer ...
Luke 11 ...12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children,
How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
Matt 7 ;11 calls them'' good things '' in place of the Holy Sprint , when we ask the Father out of a humble heart
What are we overcoming but this world and it is full of evil :sigh:
Gifts of Gods grace though , the Son [ Jesus is the reward !] the ONLY way to obtain power from on high and overcome this world ... is though Jesus Christ [Christ in you the hope of glory ]
Eph 4 ...7Now to each one of us grace has been given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8This is why it says: "When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men."
9What does "He ascended" mean, except that He also descended to the lower parts of the earth?...
Grace is loving and overcomes evil with good always , for me [ in my opinion /judgment ]
Grace is unmerited favor from God , can you imagine not knowing Gods grace in the here and now ? or how much He loves us by sending His Son ?.
The high minded rulers of the earth [earthly sensual and devilish deeds] than and now [Matt23]
hated His bold truth[stopped their ears from hearing ] and desired to kill Him in their hearts ,
but GOD proved they could not destroy Him ,
for this very reason He was sent by the Father , to be the first born from the dead ,
and raise the dead to Life again ,being an open show , no longer a hidden mystery any longer !!
We are told to keep loving one another and praying for one another ,as being secret from the heart to God s ear ,hearing us , not before men .
 Jugghead...I think it would...at most it may hinder the 'entering in" a little while[enter first/last etc..harlots tax collectors
enter in before you"
Ross.. yes it it aconscious process for some..but not all... there is the example of legion possessed who was out of His mind
until the Lord appeared unto him and he bowed unto him...then he was 'in his right mind' and the dead He raised to life were certainly not
conscious of what was going on..............some men's 'works' precede them to judgement..some after.
we shall NOT all die..but we shall ALL BE CHANGED.....IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE :2c:
Parable of the wedding banquet......those previouslyinvited[Israel when Jesus come] and christian churches in our day......invited
to wedding supper......go to the street corners and invite anyone you find...both bad and good[prodigal sons/bad behaviour faithful/good
or walking in spirit/walking in flesh]the salvation of all is our feast[best wine for last/best robe]...including gentiles was Israel's water
of life. Now the Lamb and His bride have spread a feast for the poor and for all that can not pay back.
.......no wedding garment= didn't eat the wedding supper[spiritual food/truth] willcause you to be clothed with
spots of demonic doctrines...love for ALL , grace for ALL..and truth= spotless and blameless by His sacrifice..
prodigals=all in Adam whodied..get Best robe[new skins/immortality/incorruption freegift eternal life...a ring for the finger=
a circle judgement[spirit return unto God..Prince of this world judged] sandals for the feet[I willwalk in them,O'Immanuel]to declare
that GOD ALONE WILL BE EXALTED IN THAT DAY...no flesh boast!

A henge, used to measure times & seasons, is just a bunch of sticks (woodhenge) or stones (stonehenge) stuck in the mud or earth. I expect that the loss of the right to inherit is not permanent, but lasts for a season or age, until the Kingdom is handed over to the Father. I think we all here subscribe to the idea of complete and eventual Reconciliation, yes? The Bible says God will become All in all, and I believe that, for it is the ultimate Good News. :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny: :dsunny:

I do too! :HeartThrob: Those come in lastly , Dan is last to me , they were never sealed or spoken of in the new testament ever ..
The reason I say this is because of Amos 8 and also Jesus saying you will NOT see me again TILL , you say ,Blessed is He whom comes in the name of the Lord .. Matt 23
and the description of the tribe of Dan in the last days Gen 49:16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
:18
I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD. those that hinder the path and bruise the heel , are those whom heads are crushed along the way , in my opinion , just my thoughts .
serpents sure would "hinder " the path & process of Rev 20 Blessed is he whom is in the first Resurrection [ Christ body]
the 2nd death is for Rev 21 ;8 & 9 Revelation 21:8 (NLT)
8 "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
serpents of the evil one , and they have the seven last bowels of plagues in the wrath of God to contend with still ..
Maybe even the woes of Matt 23 receiving the stricter punishment ...38Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
9 Then one of the seven angels who held
the seven bowls containing the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come with me! I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."
I must follow the scriptures and hear what the Spirit says , not add to them or leave any of them out either .
each one of us has to hear and obey as they understand it , we are not to judge anyone but judge what is right in the sight of God .
GOD is the lawgiver and judge after all , and is able to save and destroy .
But He does also make, " all things new ", as well . :dsunny: :HeartThrob:
I agree with that it would be temporary, but the reason I asked is because as I read the verses what popped into my head was that the works being burned up was the loss they suffered
but that's just my opinion

That would be odd because if the works are burned because they are useless, it's not a loss.
The type of works spoken of are sins of not 100% trusting Christ. I can't imagine that the Bible calls the removal of sin a loss.

Well for me the works of anyone building a false image of God and idolizing it and than telling others to worship it also
is the works being burned up , the fruit of your own doings , not the Holy Sprint fruits
Same works of the devil [adversity ] as working against God and the Holy Spirit is grieved and being a hindrance and not a help at all , the help meet is the Body of Christ, His true Church /bride working with the Lord to create new children of the Day , holy fruit to God and not darkness any longer .
here are some scriptures to consider please , but first
I cannot help but think of Jesus calling Simon old nature '' instrument of violence ''along with Levi , he cut off the soldiers ear with a sword , Peter also new name and nature pebble /stone
Called him Satan , when He was hindering the Lords work of the Cross , saying you are mindful of the things that be of men and NOT GOD
Peter had to be sifted like wheat and the chaff is burned up on the threshing floor , God is a jealous God and consuming fire .
but the chaff he will ''burn up with unquenchable fire."
Our baptism of Holy Spirit and fire consumes the evil and leaves the good to prosper in every harvest season .
Bearing more fruit to God being a process of cleansing and refining purity .
This verse describes
wind winnowing, the period's standard process for separating the wheat from the chaff. ... The unneeded chaff would then be burned.
God gave him dreams to keep him from going back under the old law of bondage and slavery to the sin nature he just come out of .
We see where Peter suffered greatly in the scriptures. but was also given a beautiful testimony to the glory of God
For me, it is man making idols of their own thoughts and works of their hands , will worship and worship of angels messengers of the true God and false gods of this world ,
We remember how much John wanted to bow down and worship the angel /messenger in Rev 22 9But he said to me, "Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book
. Worship God!" .Eph 4 .New Life in Christ is putting God first .... being fruitful and multiplying the holy seed .
...29Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.
30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice....
Genesis 6:6
The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
Psalm 78:40
How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness And grieved Him in the desert!
Isaiah 63:10
But they rebelled And grieved His Holy Spirit; Therefore He turned Himself to become their enemy, He fought against them.
John 3:33
Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.
Ephesians 1:13
And in Him you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, having heard and believed the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:19
Do not extinguish the Spirit.
Hebrews 10:29
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
Keeping ourselves from idol worship means letting go of everything that hinders and letting God reign our hearts to me imo .
and it is a pressing thing to go though , a very easy thing to say and never an easy thing to do in this life .For sure , the devil is here to tempt us and accuse us before God day and night , but drawing close to the Lord is our help in the hour of need like no other .
1 John 5
20And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding,
so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ.
He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Perhaps it is thought of as a 'loss' for all the time, energy, and talents that were put into something that was not for God's kingdom.

That is what came to my mind D ..... it is a loss if what you thought (believed) was right turned out to be wrong
excellant word,Sis. ..and not one is lost[loss]but the son of perdition..that the scriptures be fulfilled.Judas/as portraying satan entering
and doing a 'work' in a man's flesh[liar thief man killer]...betraying Christ for 30 pieces of silver. Jesus said...'the prince of this world
comes and he has nothing in me" it is a loss to us desiring to bear fruit unto Christ..to harm/grieve Him inany way.Judas repented
and died in great sorrow of heart..and I believed he felt great loss. Peter denying 3 times out of fear..felt loss. the moreof Christ
in us[increasing]..........30,60,100 fold..the talents increasing..or loss of what you thinkyou have...when all things are laid bare.
Judas..as a picture of one expierencing this great loss..when his works were consumed of the fire.[as having been of the works of
the devil].was still saved as though through that fire[Jesus cross]
new heaven/new earth=no more hurt/harm....
