First thing I do after my breakfast is go down to the common area to check/read the daily newspapers. Usually there are 4-5 in disarray--today only one The Free Press (Mankato, MN) neatly folded showing in huge bold print the headline FORGIVE EVERYONE EVERYTHING
The whole front page was dedicated to the commemoration activities of the 150th anniversary of the mass hangings of 38 Dakota/Lakota Indians (Dec 26, 1862) the largest mass execution in US history.
Theme: Reconciliation
Location: Reconciliation Park, Mankato
first quote: "Today, being here to witness a great gathering we have peace in our hearts--a new beginning of healing."
bits and pieces:
pain, suffering, guilt, innocence on both sides... events portrayed as violent, dark, life-ending...
both cultures had attitudes that led to actions that honored and dishonored their cultures...
Prayer: ... asks for humility, understanding, knowledge... lessons learned to be remembered everyday, not just once a year, but every day!
=================
This very secular newspaper printed/reported so much spiritual food for meditation, praise, ... just wanted to share this with others who know and experience the forgiveness provided by Jesus' blood shed on the cross...
That was great seekfirst
One of the hardest things to do(IMO) is to FORGIVE EVERYONE, EVERYTHING. - but isn't that what was done for us?
well, that's a double wittness as far as I can see. That's a fig tree branch putting forth tender branches
and bearing fruit. A sure sign of the son of man. Forgiveness of all is Atonement. Love keeps
no record of the wrong[because all wrongs are forgiven in Love] Love covers over many sins[a fig leaf]
Wow, that was beautiful. Thank you for sharing that. :HeartThrob:
It is a poultice made of the fruit of the fig tree that heals from the effects of sin. Hezekiah's illness
Hezekiah became ill[sinsick] and was at the point of death.'Isaaih went to him and said,'put your house in order
because you are going to die you will not recover...........
I have heard your prayer and seen your tears....I will heal you.........
ON THE THIRD DAY FROM NOW YOU WILL GO UP TO THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD...............
THEN ISAAIH SAID 'PREPARE A POULTICE OF FIGS" They did so and applied it to the boil and
HE RECOVERED....Forgiveness[Jesus fruit of fig tree]
Hezekiah had asked...what will be the sign that I will go up to the temple of the Lord in three days?
Isaaih answered...'Shall the shadow go forward ten steps or shall it go backward ten steps?
Hezekiah said..............Rather have it go back ten steps. Joshua 10;13...so the sun stood still and moon
stopped til the nation avenged itself on it's enemy[overcome].darkness driven backwards
the plague of the kingdom of darkness covering the land as the shadow of death...and see the wicked
ways of darkness that King Ahaz worked................
SOS 2;10 My lover spoke and said to me,'Arise My Darling, my beautiful one,and come with me.
See! The winter is past[if they do these things when the tree is green what shall they do when it is dry]
the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land. THE FIG TREE FORMS IT'S EARLY FRUIT, THE BLOSSOMING
VINES SPREAD IT'S FRAGRANCE. ARISE,COME MY DARLING,MY BEAUTIFUL ONE
COME WITH ME.
and ..thank you for your sharing,too. Breaking bread togather in the Lord.....is such a Blessing :HeartThrob:

We are to forgive others as God has forgiven us.
We are also only to cast the first stone if we are without sin ourself.
We are also to take the plank from our own eye before trying to remove the speck from a brother/sister's eye.
Then knowing that Christ has taken away the sins of the world should also help to show that the others are forgiven too, just do not know that YET.
This seems to be a time of learning for some to see the right/wrong difference thing. Good vs evil with the outcome being that man will become like God with the resurrection to postions of sons/daughters of God.
Very much what Paul is talking about to the Galations about being under a temporary guardian until coming of age. Just each in their own turn.
Hence forgiving other because we know they too are to be raised to a postive future. This life is only temporary, while the things not yet seen are eternal.
Now you have gone too far with your "being like Jesus says" you fanatical christian.
Don't make me get up out of my E-Z chair. :punish: :laugh:

Since you love the Song of Songs so much, let me ask you - have you ever read it in the Ferrar Fenton Version? Fenton aimed to know the Hebrew so well that he could read it as easily as his daily newspaper. He decided that the Song of Songs must have been a wedding-day drama, and consequently he translated it in dramatic form. It works, and the language is beautiful. More than that, I am beginning to suspect that Fenton did not have a "Hell" bias is his translating, but I am only now starting to verify that...more later.
No and I've never even heard of that version before. I'll have to google it. Thanks!
We know we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren.
Love keeps no record of wrongs.
Love bears all things.
Love endures all things.
This is a demonstration of being In Christ, the hope of all glory.
we can become 'spotted' before the Lord..when we do not forgive men that tresspass against us.
Jesus told His disciples...you Must forgive those who tresspass against you. Routinely
searching our minds and hearts to see if there is anything that we are holding against
another..and then releasing it..and feeling the cleansing that comes with it,sanctifies us.
for if you do not forgive those who tresspass aginst you,neither will your Father forgive you.
Yes we should forgive everyone EVERYTHING. And lift BANS on people, especially great ones like marcmarc....Ooft the big handsome beast that he is! :eek:

Ross, in reviewing this thread because I found a hymn that speaks to forgiving everyone everything, I read again your very beautiful, scriptural reply and was challenged--in a very productive way--to see less of the speck in others' and ask forgiveness for the plank (s) in my own eyes. Thanks!!!

REMEMBER CHRIST, OUR SAVIOR Smith, 1991
Remember Christ, our Savior
Who paid the debts you owed
To God the heavenly Father
And to you mercy showed,
When others sin against you
Be ready to forgive.
Since you have been forgiven
With them in peace now live.
Go first to find your brother,
Your sister or your friend.
Do not reveal to others
The hurt you need to mend.
Confront in humble spirit
The one whose sin caused pain
That he might seek forgiveness
And you a friend regain.
When bitter anger tempts you
To nurse your broken heart
With brooding thoughts of hatred
And vows of vengeance start.
Pray to the Lord of Pardon
For power to release
Each selfish act against you
That rage might in you cease.
O Father, Son, and Spirit
Who lift from us sin's burden
And from its debt set free.
Grant us the will to pardon
All those who us offend.
Hi anna274;
I realise this has been a long time since your last post. I also realise that our Father has everything in a master plan and works to a different timetable to us. So this is probably meant to be a blessing for you if you do indeed read this.
Christ paid the price for us all.
Phil 2;5-8 " You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, Who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, and was made in the likeness of men;
and being found in fashion as man He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross."
Christ displayed how we should love others more than we love oursellf.
Knowing that Christ paid our price in full inspres focussing on the coming ages and releases from the bondage of the law.
All this seems to be saying how we should love our Father more than this world/age. For the things to come are of such awesome magnitude that the things of this age are only a preparation for the coming glory. For we shall be LIKE HIM for He WILL transform our lowly bodies into the likeness of His glorious body by the power that enable Him to subject ALL things to Himself.

Oh my--our Father's "timetable" is so lovingly in tune with our needs. Yesterday afternoon because I was so very lonely for human fellowship (where two or more gathered in My Name) I started praying in earnest... was led to go back to read this thread Forgive Everybody Everything ... it seemed like I was being told to read again your reply of Dec 28 ... so I did and found such comfort, edification, encouragement, and the kind of fellowship I long for... I again thanked God for your encouraging words and asked Him to bless you with great peace, joy... Earlier today, although no longer a member of TM forum, I decided to read the recent posts. Oh my... can you imagine how I rejoiced when I saw that you had posted to Forgive Everybody Everything and again with such edifying, encouraging, comforting words. Oh yes, indeed, our Father has a glorious "timetable" for us even as we are still on this sometimes sorrowful spiritual journey. Well, I had been thinking about re-registering and had even decided that I would come back this time as OneThing (I have five favorite scriptural one things on which I have been praying, meditating, thanking, praising God) to thank you.
Thank you Ross:
Eph 4:29...proceed out of your mouth, that which is good to the use of edifying, and ministering grace unto the hearers.
You are welcome.
I love focussing on the positive.
2 Cor 3;9-11 " If the old way, which brings condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way which makes us right with God? In fact that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new which remains forever!"
vs 17 ,18 " For the Lord is Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. So all of us who have had the veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord, Who is the Spirit- makes us more and more like Him AS WE ARE CHANGED into His glorious image." { N.L.T}
So, indeed, may the Lord make His face to shine on YOU and give YOU peace.
Quote21 Then Peter having come near to him, said, `Sir, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him -- till seven times?'
22 Jesus saith to him, `I do not say to thee till seven times, but till seventy times seven.
23 `Because of this was the reign of the heavens likened to a man, a king, who did will to take reckoning with his servants,
24 and he having begun to take account, there was brought near to him one debtor of a myriad of talents,
25 and he having nothing to pay, his lord did command him to be sold, and his wife, and the children, and all, whatever he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant then, having fallen down, was bowing to him, saying, Sir, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all;
27 and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion did release him, and the debt he forgave him.
28 `And, that servant having come forth, found one of his fellow-servants who was owing him an hundred denaries, and having laid hold, he took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which thou owest.
29 His fellow-servant then, having fallen down at his feet, was calling on him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all;
30 and he would not, but having gone away, he cast him into prison, till he might pay that which was owing.
31 `And his fellow-servants having seen the things that were done, were grieved exceedingly, and having come, shewed fully to their lord all the things that were done;
32 then having called him, his lord saith to him, Evil servant! all that debt I did forgive thee, seeing thou didst call upon me,
33 did it not behove also thee to have dealt kindly with thy fellow-servant, as I also dealt kindly with thee?
34 `And having been wroth, his lord delivered him to the inquisitors, till he might pay all that was owing to him;
35 so also my heavenly Father will do to you, if ye may not forgive each one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.'
Matthew 18:21-35
:flowerred: Amen , let it be so !! :HeartThrob:
