Hey everyone.... hope everyone is well!

A thought came to me yesterday as I was pondering the meanings of the "elect" versus "those that are called". Just wanted to toss this out here and see if you all had any revelations regarding this.

~~~~~~~~~~~
We read that there will be a new heaven and a new earth... Is it "possible" that the "elect" will live in heaven and that everyone else will populate the new earth?
To me at least, this would make much better spiritual sense regarding the scriptures that talk about those who will never enter into the Kingdom of God, while at the same time doesn't conflict with our revelation that Jesus will eventually save all.
If not.... what is the purpose of the new earth?
Any insight into this general topic is much appreciated!
The New Earth is simply the earth being cleansed by fire in the way that it was formerly cleansed by water in Noah's generation.  Don't have my list of Scriptures handy, but 2Peter 3 comes to mind as a Scripture that contrasts the previous, present, and future worlds.  Things will be restored on the New Earth that were perpetually lost through the judgment of the flood.  In the book of Isaiah, in talking about the New Earth, it talks about people living as long as trees.  The New Earth precedes the all in all state of 1Corinthians 15:28.  It's simply the reign of Christ Jesus on a refined earth.
I'd go so far as to say that I'm not sure about immortality for any believers prior to 1Corinthians 15:28.  Otherwise, it's a peculiar construction of the chapter in the order that it lays out events.  Immortality in Scripture is always bodily.  As believers are progressively moving from glory to glory, so's the rest of Creation.  Longevity prior to immortality by varying degrees based upon one's walk of faith and purpose in grace is completely possible.  I don't have a problem with myself or anyone I ever meet living a thousand or more years old.  But the distinction that I believe that the book of Isaiah is making about the New Earth is that longevity will be the rule rather than the exception.  Won't necessarily be 'cause someone lived such an amazingly narrow road.  Otherwise, why make deaths at 100 for sin such a glaring peculiarity on the New Earth?  Right now, most folks are still "trying" to make it to 100.
Universalist Catholic
If I am correct, Earth represents the physical creation, and heaven represents the unseen creation.  In modern Catholic Theology, heaven is defined as a state of ever blessedness and life to those who have lived righteously.  But if Im correct, heaven is referring to all of the invisible creation, such as righteousness, angels, peace, love, brotherhood, ect.  Earth I believe represents all the physical parts of creation, such as animals, people, plants, landforms, and other such creations.
I believe that the idea of the Elect ascending into heaven is from Jehovahs Witness theology.  They believe that a number of 144,000 will rule in heaven with God, while the rest live on Paradise Earth.  But Jehovahs Witnesses tend to overanalyze the bible.  I never really understood the scripture justification for their belief.
  To me  '' the elect''  represent  the vessels chosen to show Gods mercy Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you,
so also [do] ye And above all these things [put on] charity,
  which is the bond of perfectness.
1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
  the new heavens and earth is where  the Lords righteouness is
the old ones  is on fire
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Jam 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
1Pe 2:9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a
Royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Those that KNOW His mercy will SHOW HIS MERCY
the elect of God actually love their  neighbours as themselves and the Light / Knowledge of Christ shines in them
New heaven and New earth....
The Old Heaven and the Old Earth was talking about the Kingdom of Hebrew under the Old Covenant Law, it's rule and power and pricipalities.
It was established with blood of animals with laws and governing bodies and a political stucture and leaders.
The New Heaven and New Earth is talking about the New Covenant under new rule and power and principalities.
It was established by the blood of Christ, with a new structure and political system.
Nathan
Hmmm . . .for me, it is similar to Dallas and yet a little different I guess.  Heaven represents spirit or unseen . . . which would also be "belief".  And earth is the seen, the visible attributes which essentially are an extension of the unseen.  What we see in on the earth is a result of what has transpired in the spirit.  So when there's a new heaven and a new earth, for me, this is a transformation within every man.
Receiving revelation from the Father is the new, being taught "about" the Father through flesh and blood is the old.  It's a Peter experience.  Who do "you" say that I am.  The New heaven and earth is the transformation manifesting within the heart of men.  God didn't make all new things in me, he made the things already existing illuminate with new meaning.
The New Jerusalem is us.  The 144,000 is not about a specific number, but rather it's a natural symbol pointing to a spiritual truth.  Are we not all spiritual Jews, circumcized by the spirit?
As to the elect, for me, the elect are those who've experienced a personal relationship with Christ "now".  Considering the fact that salvation is not about going to heaven or missing hell.  But it's about reproducing after our own kind.  It's about seeing the finished works in the spiritual realm and calling them out in this natural realm.  It's as the song goes that so many churches sing with such passion, but I'm not so sure they realize it's a UR song.
"One day every tongue will confess you are God, one day every knee will bow, BUT STILL THE GREATEST TREASURE REMAINS FOR THOSE, WHO GLADLY CHOOSE YOU NOW . . .
Novus-Ordo-Seclorum7
Those that will never enter into the kingdom are those that are Followers of the Law that can't follow the law and wont follow "their" high Priest . They are twice dead, and will only be saved or made alive IN Christ-of the future for them, The Christ was soon to be revealed to them, but they did not except Him. So They will be saved in a future eon.
A new order has begun
Since the things that are unseen are superior to the things that are seen, I think we get confused sometimes and seek to make the inferior "seen" things reflect an image they are insufficient to transmit. That which is earthly is of the earth, that which is heavenly is of the heavens, for example.......
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.(earthly) This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above(heavenly) is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
(Jas 3:10-18)
The kingdom of God displays the divine nature, the earthy principalities display the old nature, carnal, unrenewed- the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience(towers and strongholds and captivity in the earthly, sensual, demonic).
The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
If I cry out of my need for Him then God will then God supplies the need through the Spirit- overflowing love.
Mat 5:3  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
When the fire has done its work the earthly is consumed and there is a "new heavens"(renewed mind) and a "new earth" (resurrected body) wherein "dwells(tabernacles) righteousness".
The earthly mind cannot attain to the heavens. Only transformation by the Spirit- which is the result of "BEHOLDING"(first love devotion) can take us there(seated in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus as co-heirs)
BEHOLD, I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above(heavenly), where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God(kingdom). Set your affection on things above(first love devotion, BEHOLDING), not on things on the earth(earthly sensual demonic- the corruption that is in the world through lust). For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify(reckon yourself dead to) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God(fire) cometh on the children of disobedience(carnal believers and unbelievers): In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man(earthly, first man, old Adam) with his deeds; And have put on the new man(heavenly, last man, new Adam, Christ), which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:(partakers of the divine nature)
(Col 3:1-10)
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
(2Co 3:17-18)
Dallas
The Elect were the Hebrew people, they were by law the ones elidgable to recieve the kingdom.
The choosen were the remnant, the 7000 who never knelt before Baal, the Jewish believers in Jesus.
The elect and chosen are not synonomis or even related to heaven and earth.
Well Glory ! Amen and Hallejiah! :thumbsup:
Beloved Servant
Amen.
Without the Spirit of the Lord, Jesus would still be in the grave and we would all be partakers of a hopeless, dead religion.
Might as well all be Buddhists or something that suits our own selfish needs in glorifying the creation instead of the Creator.
