Hi Jerm.  Where do you see "the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world" fit - i.e., that Christ's death was pre-ordained to occur as Plan A, not as a Plan B back-up plan?

IPeter 1:19,20 and Rev. 13:8 "Then everyone who is making a home on the earth, whose name hasn't been wirtten in the Scroll of Life that belongs to the young Lamb who has been slaughtered since the foundation of the world...."

Thanks, James.

Hey James.  I don't see any problems fitting this verse in with a CV view of atonement.  CV definitely asserts that Christ died an atoning death on behalf of mankind, it just defines the reason, motivation, and execution of that atonement differently from Penal Substitution.

OK, I kind of thought that could be the case from what you said earlier.  Thanks for clarifying that for me...I'll look at it some more, thanks.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2
