fig tree and cursing it?

curious on everyones take on cursing the tree.Did Jesus have a weak moment and found he didn"t have dominion over the fig tree?
Or is it just symbolism?or is it a deeper revelation of Jesus and his walk to maturity?

I believe it was symbolic of Israel, possibly they weren't bearing fruit so he came to gentiles.
This is just an opinion so perhaps someone will have a more precise answer.

Since I believe much of Jesus' earthly ministry was PRIMARILY directed towards Israel and the coming judgment in 70 AD, I agree SQ, that that was at least a very big part of it.  Probably multiple layers, huh, because obviously Jesus came for our sakes too.

Jesus was still human and I beleive(by showing an example )in frustration cursed the tree.I guess I am looking to relate more to the person of Jesus and his struggle to move forward in his calling.
