Hi,

Thought I would join. Having preached hellfire and damnation but always having struggled with it, I thought I would do some research. Still on that journey. Would love to lose all ties to such a doctrine but want to be sure from God that this is truth. Have ordered a couple of books recommended here on the site and have read one and a half of them. Feeling really good about what they teach.

Looking forward to wisdom in this area.

Hello, Waitin!   :dsunny:

Oh, I'm so glad you're here and I'm so glad you're waiting on Him!
You can't go wrong when you're in Him!

Hi Waitin...

One of the great ways that God gives me reading material is through my browsing the second hand, and used books stores, and sometimes just books people give me.

I found one a couple weeks back called "Short Meditations on the Bible and Peanuts" by Robert L. Short.

I always loved Charlie Brown as a kid, and then to find out that he is a believer in UR, by reading this book, written by his friend Robert L. Short, was such a blessing!  I highly recommend the read.

T'was the Spirit told me to tell you that. Normally I wouldn't just jump in with recommended reading, I find that highly personal.

WELCOME

Hi waitinontheLamb,

Welcome to fellowship in the spirit,

  • "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (Jo 14:6)

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come" (Jo 16:13)

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (1 Cor 2:12,13)

Abide in the Living Word and the truth is yours. We are seated with Him in the heavenlies, let's just sit with Him on victorious ground and in Him we have overcome.

Grace and peace to you

Nelson

Thank you all for the warm greeting. Love the fellowship of the Body, even if as impersonal as over the web. Thanks also for the recommended reading. Will look around.

Lots of good info here.

Welcome, Waiting. I do understand your caution and it is always wise. Teachers carry an important resposibility for what they teach others. If it is of God, it will grow in you until others may eat the fruit of it from you. If not, it will die as only that which is of God can grow in fertile spiritual ground. Look forward to learning together.

Hello,   :hihat:

It took me 6 months, 4 books and about 1200 pages of articles off of about 25 web sites to finally accept the truth. Tradition and fear is a hard thing to overcome!     :boyheart:
