  "Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."  Phillipians 4:8.

dwell on these things

   Great thoughtS Bro Dave and so true .........

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

1Th 4:10   And indeed you  do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that you  increase more and more;

1Th 4:11  And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

1Th 4:12   That you  may walk honestly toward them that are without, and [that] you  may have lack of nothing.

1Th 4:13 ΒΆ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1Th 4:14   For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th 4:18   Wherefore comfort one another with these words

   the whole chapter  :HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

I have found that if one has the courage to stare evil in the face and know it for what it is, then one will see clearly what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent, and worthy.  But, few have the courage to look at evil.  They look away, allowing it to prosper.  They become complicit in its darkness.  They don't realize that only by looking at evil, will they ever see good.

for our edification
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer

Rom 12:13   Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Rom 12:14   Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not

Rom 12:15   Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Rom 12:16   [Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Rom 12:17  Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Rom 12:18  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Rom 12:19  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Rom 12:20   Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21   Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good

15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

:thumbsup:  AMEN ! to know  Jesus Christ  is the Light unto men ,,,,

the Light is come into  our hearts and does shine forth  ......

 Jhn 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Jhn 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

1Cr 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

2Cr 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

  the Light is the knowledge of Jesus Christ   some do not have  the light of the knowledge  in the Face of Jesus Christ   to their shame  :mblush:

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1Cr 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame

Beloved Servant

Hold back the four winds until I have sealed their foreheads.

Cardinal

 :cloud9: Amen, and the reason is the 4 winds (4 parts to the soul) try to "blow" our candle out. But there is going to be a remnant that do not taste of death. Blessings....

Remember the Day star to have his light rise and shine in your heart , burning steady and not pulled about as the four winds blowing, to go on burning even brighter when darkness of the night comes calling.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable.
