Wow, that is alot but muslim is only 600 year old regilion

The part about christian felling apart, I read this here:
"they believe in a personal God but not in a formal faith tradition."

That's because they are not comfortable with hellfire, however this make no sense because muslim also believe in hellfire too, I just don't get it how this muslims regilion get so many people in the world? HOW?!?!

Christian need to start thinking bigger picture, if Jesus is the good news, why few christian in the world like right now? I bet they will said "Well Jesus said few walk in narrow road, many lead to destruction" Maybe Jesus talking the last day that few christian are saved. That's us!"

How sad......

is there any reason why this happen?

I am not bashing muslims, all I am saying is why muslim get many people, how do they do it, and what their's secret weapon to involved more people?

Because they appeal to mans carnal nature...For instance they get 72 virgins in the afterlife.

Well, we can joke about the 72 virgin thing (as many already have :laughing7:), but the truth of the matter is not that Muslims are gaining converts at an abnormally high rate, but rather just that the population of majority-Muslim countries is growing faster than majority-Christian countries.  Two parents of the same religion are just statistically likely to have children of the same religion.  For that reason, the statistics regarding the growth of Islam are kind of misleading.  They're not "taking over" or anything.

Actually, Islam was founded in 600 AD, so it's almost as old as Christianity.

They have an effective conversion process:  Convert or die.  :mblush:

Of course, to play devil's advocate, Islam's history actually has striking similarities to Christianity's.  Both started off well, with believers accepting all with warm embraces and open hearts.  Both were then plunged into darkness when powerful men with evil doctrines got their claws into it.  The difference is that Christianity's plunge into darkness happened around six or seven hundred years before Islam's.  And if we go back about that time into history... well, that conversion process you describe kinda sounds like that of another religion that we know quite well.

Another reason the Muslim faith continues to grow is because in many countries, it is a crime NOT to be a Muslim.  And they keep their women subdued and the men rule over them like tyrants.   There is a lot of pressure in Muslim countries not to be counted as 'an infidel'.   Christianity, which it used to be that way somewhat in the dark ages when the Catholic church ruled, it is not like that in too many Christian societies any longer.   The only truly free people in the world are those who are free in Christ -- free from the spirit of fear -- free from the fear of death, liberated by the law of liberty of life in Christ Jesus.  There are many professing Christians who, while not free in that sense, still would not consider converting people with the literal sword -- they just use the psychological/threat of hell sword.  Perhaps the Muslims are more prone to use both the literal and psychological sword to keep people in religious chains.

When was Muhammad NOT a violent man?  I must have missed that history.

Yeah, I read that Muhammad was in something like 52 different battles and basically said, "Convert or die." He'd convert people and then go and destroy and/or take over another group of people and if anybody converted to Islam they'd join in on his "crusade".

Not sure if it's true or not, but it's something I read.

Yes, by this time I've already heard all of the verses from the Qur'an that are perennially taken out of context.

That doesn't change the fact that, for the first three hundred years or so of Islam's existence, the Muslim world was basically the center of the world for scientific advancement, and Baghdad especially was one of the greatest cultural centers in the entire world.  Islam in its current form did not take hold until a guy by the name of al-Ghazali came along and basically stopped what had occurred over this three-century period in its tracks.  There are thus actually a lot of parallels between Al-Ghazali in Islam and St. Augustine in Christianity.

That's a rather complex question this late on the evening iD  :laughing7:
a] If they are still a virgin at death... why. Are their looks a blessing or a curse?
b] 72 virgins.... 71 virgins.... 0 virgins.  :sigh:
c] They have nothing to enjoy the virgins because their dynamic belt was around the waist  :laughing7:

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Christians do the same thing sometimes.  They did in times past during the reign of the 'Holy Roman Empire'.  And btw, I don't know if you know this, but apparently our military has largely been infiltrated with people who believe they are in a literal 'Holy War' against Islam.   I feel sorry for the guys in the American military - I really do because they have been scooped up into the beastly system and are young and confused - very vulnerable to having their minds impressed, then set out in enemy territory and many of them have gone mad and committed suicide.  The V.A. system is not taking care of them as they should and has sent many of them back to the middle east over and over and over again.  It is something to cry about if you think about it.    Our mighty military is terribly evil -- putting all these people in a kill or be killed situation.   Most of these young people don't want to be fighting any war, but because we spend most of our money as a nation on war, that is what they must do to put food on the table.  It is really, really sad.

Sure just look at all the religious wars of a few centuries ago.
But I think we shouldn't mix up two different things here.
War because scripture commands it or war because scripture is abused.
A few centuries ago man made Christianity was a synonym for war/trouble/oppression.
Today the same can be said about (man made???) Islam.
I simply judge muslims for what they do. And until they change for me islam mean trouble. Lots of it. And then I don't care if the quran has 20 'love verses' on every page because i'n everyday life that love is translated in love hurting others.

Islam is the religion of the oppressed...and it is the "Christian countries" who are the oppressors...

how do you judge the "Christian nations" who kill millions of others then? can we then say "Christianity" means trouble ie BIG trouble, on a nuclear scale?

The difference is that in the past the claimed reason for a war was religion based.
Nowadays that claim in never made (at least I'm not aware of it)

The answer lays in another reply I posted earlier today. I think there are barely 50 million Christians on this planet.
I think there are no Christian nations on this planet. (yes that includes the USA)
