Christmas and Easter ?

       Since I've been studying here at Tentmaker ,   I've learned some things regarding the pagan origins and histories behind these two holidays and now I am considering stopping my celebration of them.    And I guess I'm looking for some advice regarding this.   Of course my family and friends do celebrate. I'm not sure how this will go over with them. They will probably think I went off the deep end again.

 You could tell family and friends you celebrate Jesus birth and resurrection every day,no need for a special day.
I doubt anyone will take you seriously though, if they are like many families. :dontknow:

Yes they are pagan. But you could just look at them as just a holiday.
I doubt many celebrate Chrismas as the rebirth of the sun god. Or Eater as the fertility rite of Isthar. We know what happens if you put two bunnies together. The colored eggs are drenched in blood.

If you want to celebrate the birth of Jesus use: 1 Tishri (Feast of Trumpets) or 10 Tishri (Day of atonement)
Personally I'm quite/very certain it's one of those days.  I calculated those dates from 3-5 different angles. Both from scripture and other sources. If you look deeper into the meaning of the festivals they even make more sense. Anyway way closer as Christmas. About the American 9/11

I think we are not commanded to celebrate birth of Jesus. Servants have no memorial days...
I think His resurrection is more important.
That's on 18 Nisan. Name of the feast: First Fruits.....

I wrote the dates with their Hebrew names because the Gregorian and Hebrew calendar are not in sync.

No advise on celebrations from me. As that question to others. But if you celebrate I'm very certain the above is to be trusted.

 :cloud9: As in all things, always be led by what the Spirit is telling YOU to do at this juncture in time. There is a principle with some things, that once we lay something on the altar, many times He cleanses the motive of the heart of it, and we are free to do or not to do after that, as the Spirit would lead.

What this does is remove the contamination of the fleshly desires from it, so that the Spirit can then use it in our life without any attachments to it from us. Which, for example, might free you down the road TO 'celebrate' with others weaker in the faith, so as not to be a stumbling block to them.

This is why Paul said that it was not the idol that was anything, but the SPIRIT behind the idol. Once the spirit is dealt with, the thing has no power over you, but you over it. Blessings....

  I went though  the same thing , it was something in me that changed /
  influenced me
  my desire  for doing what I felt was  silly  to keep up for apperances sake  keeping the traditions  of Christmas and Easter up    eggs /gifts stress  etc.

    You guys gave some great advice  on this matter of the heart ........
 
and I can truely say  in  my heart is NOT in celebrating  the way  I used to before the Knowledge came  of how pagan it really is .


   the world  does profit on these  2 holidays .


using  the Lord's  birth and death as  a way  to  gain .  :mblush:


I love to esteem  each day as the Lords day ! as it is spoken of in Romans 14   , that  to me is just being grateful/thankful   for everything  the Lord has done for us all and wait for Him   who is always ..
and the  Lords Day is special /Spiritual Rev 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty   just my random thoughts on it
