Will Unbelievers want to repent and believe after they die?

Hey Everyone,

What about those who do not believe? Wouldn't they repent and believe if they were given a second chance? The answer is no, they would not because their hearts are not changed simply because they die. Their hearts and minds "are at enmity" against God and won't accept Him even when they see Him face to face. This is evidenced clearly in the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. If ever someone should have repented when given a second chance to see clearly the truth, it was the rich man. But although he was in torment in hell, he only asked that Abraham send Lazarus back to earth to warn his brothers so they didn't have to suffer the same fate. There was no repentance in his heart, only regret for where he found himself. Abraham's answer says it all: "And he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even though one rose from the dead" (Luke 16:31). Here we see that the witness of the Scriptures is sufficient for salvation for those who believe it, and no other revelation will bring about salvation to those who do not. No second, third or fourth chances would be enough to turn the heart of stone into a heart of flesh.   :sigh: :thumbdown: :mshock:

37, please restrict your comments to threads already in existance.  There are plenty existant and new ones you've started in the past 24 hours in which to discuss your views.  Spamming is not tolerated, and even if one did have a good grasp of scripture, they would be discouraged from doing dominating the boards.

On a personal level, I'll suggest you read and pray more for understanding and enlightenment/revelation from the Father rather than talking so much.

Some never believed in God because they didn't see Him. When they see Him they know instead of believe.
Some believed but had the wrong religion. When they see the true God they know

If God can make, say, 20% of His creation believe in their short lives; why you assume God can't convert the remaining 80% in the infinitly long time after death/resurrection?

Amen! and that is the difference. Believeing or knowing. 

Scriptures says that "all" will come before the Lord. Believers and non believers. It also says that "all will say Jesus Christ is Lord". It also says that no one can say "Jesus Christ is Lord" without the Holy Spirit. 

Even when an unbeliever stands face to face with Jesus.  They will no longer be an unbeliever.  They will see that He is real. He lives. All their unbelief will be gone. They will know that He is real. They will KNOW.  They may suffer loss.  They may have to go through further growth even on the other side of the grave but they will "know"!

I have a question for you COG...however if you are on vacation Lee can feel free to answer. Which Adam was more powerful, The first or second?
This is a very valid question because your partialist veiwpoint places the first Adam as more powerful than the Second (Christ).

of course the second is more powerful than the first. the blood of God, is there anything more powerful? but in order to receive what Jesus undid you have to repent and believe in His sacrifice for the payment for your sins.

So the 1st Adam plunged 99.9% of humanity into darkness. (
Then the 2nd Adam came and manages only to get 5% back into the light.
Doesn't sound like a big victory for the 2nd Adam.
Especially when you consider the 2nd Adam is immensly more powerful than the 1st Adam.
