The Lord revealed this to me a couple days ago as I was giving a teaching on the throne of God being the source of the lake of fire. The Lord told me that the reason his throne is white is because it is the purest and hottest flame. I confirmed that indeed, the hottest flame is white in color. This came from comparing two scriptures describing the same event:

Rev 20:11 I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

with...

Dan 7:9 I saw until thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat: his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.
Dan 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Sorry, but God didn't reveal that to you, your own mind came up with it.

The white is a well established symbol throughout scripture refering to purity and righteousness.

You sins although like scarlet will be made white a wool etc.

The white horse Jesus rides is the truth and justice steed, rightousness.

The transfiguartion the men were adorned in light and white robes.

Sorry not God given, yourself given.

It definitely has to do with purity. I agree wholeheartedly. And that is exactly what the fire is about. The Greek word for fire is pur, which is where we get our word pure from.

The confirmation for me is not in what I believe the Lord told me, for you are right, I could come up with something on my own. But scripture does confirm it, when I compare the two accounts of the judgment in Daniel and Revelation. In one the throne is spoken of as a fire, and in the other as white.

Rev 4:3 The appearance of Him who sat there was like jasper or sard; and encircling the throne was a rainbow, in appearance like an emerald.

:cloud9: Let me also add to this thread Ron, that I had a vision in my sleep once of being one with and surrounded by LAVA. I was stunned to say the least, and He later showed me it was as His love which MELTS the ELEMENTS (ELEMENTAL THINGS) with a fervent heat, making it flow as the overFLOWing scourge that heals/makes whole everything it touches. Blessings....

White Throne judgment is going on right now with the books being opened, Bible codes, etc., and people being judged for their works via sowing and reaping, their understanding of what's being opened as the books are being opened 'cause Daniel mentions in chapter 12, I think, something that shouldn't be passed over about the wise understanding these things and turning many sinners to righteousness.  The Lake of Fire, therefore, is simply the transfiguration that begins with the wicked receiving a revelation of the Love of God.  (Doesn't mean it can't temporarily end in death.  I've personally nearly had that happen to me before where the revelation that was coming of His love was teetering on way too much!!)  For anyone new to UR, that's liable to seem like I really worked at stretching that, 'cause I'm not explaining my multi-year process in working thru the meanings of 2Peter 3, Revelation 20, and many other Scriptures.  But this is one of those subjects where it's almost too big to mess with on a discussion board and you really need several hundred pages on this alone to address the weaknesses in competing interpretations such as "final judgment," et. al.

Hi Dallas.  Could you explain some more your thoughts on this?  I have no particular known, extreme level of revelation on it, but could it be both?  The "fire of God" AND purity?  Not one or the other?  I'm no expert on this, just find it interesting/intrigueing.  I think heat/fire purifies, His blood also...The workings of God are mighty and marvelous and beyond my comprehension.

Thanks, James.

It amazes me still how somany of you who say you love that Jesus has saved you and delivered you into freedom and the hands of God yet for some reason think that God is going to pull out and shake out some old document and judge you.

Judgement is the law! Where there is no law there can be no violation, (Romans)

The judgement was poured out on the Jew for rejecting God, that was it, done and done.

The judgement seat of Christ is a good thing. It means eventually all will come before God and recieve the same judgement Jesus recived, Righteousness!!! All will recieve their unvieling of righteousness.

ALL WILL come before and recieve the same judgement, and it doesnt matter what they did, whether it be good or bad all will recive the same judgement!!

How can this be?

The New covenant, I will forgive their sin and remember thier iniquity no more.

I think those are good, interesting points Dallas.  I'm personally not saying the "fire of God" is punishment...seems it may have to do with His holiness too, that awesome power and presence, His character, that we right now cannot look upon  :dontknow:.

Hello;

Not to sound all up on myself, that is not my intent,

The bible is written to be understood. It is not peopels feelings or dreams, it is literature. People don't sit around milling over the passages of moby dick, yet it like scripture is literature. Written to be understood. There are definite meaning to the things being said but you need to know the book in it's entirety to gain perspective.

If you were to throw on X-Men three and see Wolverine stabing the Phoenix(Gene Gray) through the chest you would be appalled at this brutal man, menacing. However thats a limited view because opf limited information.
The white has a definite meaning and if one sits and surmizes without whole
bible context it can be whatever you want.
