I ran across this page on Tentmaker: http://www.tentmaker.org/URrebuttals/awpink.htm

Why in the world is this on here?? Is there a reply to this anti-UR argument?

And what do you guys think of Proverbs 29:1 where it says "there is no healling"?

Proverbs 29

1A man often reproved, hardening the neck, Is suddenly broken, and there is no healing.

Hi TimB.  This article is, I believe, at Gary's doing and discretion.  My thoughts are along the lines that he would be showing the "ridiculousness" of "the other side", and requests this at the top of the article;  "If you would like to offer a rebuttal to any portion of this article, please post your response at this link. Please place the title of this article and the corresponding section number (the larger bolded number that we added in front of each mini-section) in your rebuttal. Please respond section by section."

I see it as similar to when he comes in from time to time and posts a letter in the DB from an ET'er, then asks for responses.  I think he may use those somehow to respond/show "our" beliefs in direct contradiction to ET statements.  My  :2c:.

"Man cannot comprehend the existence of error; when he is to deeply immersed in it."

Therefore, his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing. (Proverbs 6:15)

A man who hardens his neck after much reproof, Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy. (Proverbs 29:1)

Appears he is given over to be exiled in Babylon!  :mshock:

That study by A.W.Pink was given to me by the other Elders of my church when they found out that I had come to the UR conclusion.

I read through it and found just a bunch of ranting. Now I believe A.W. Pink is a godly man, but the imprint of ET is such that he cannot even look at Scripture otherwise. I found this true of the other Elders in my church as well. They have to torture Scripture to make it agree with their pre-existing and predominate belief in eternal hell.

I believe those that have had the scales removed from their eyes are truly blessed by God's grace. I do not believe that I came to the conclusion of UR of my own intelligence, but that it was God's mercy to reveal it.

I can definitely 100% agree with you on this. :thumbsup:God reveals it to whom he pleases and the et side has many contradictions in their veiws on the very nature of God.Love Him or else!!!!! :mshock:And God revealed it to me it had nothing to woth me and everythig to do with God.

"UNIVERSALISM REFUTED"

by Arthur W Pink

HERE
Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

Amen.  Me too.   I have come to realize that the vast majority of Christians I know will not have those scales removed (unless God wills) no matter how much I want them to.  It was a huge spiritual awakening for me and seemed to change the bible completely.   That spiritual book became a life-giving document, whereas before, it was mostly an instrument of death to me.

I think it either should be, or be removed.   :2c:
