when did Jesus enter the"rest"

Can we see from scripture ,what led up to Jesus understanding what He needed to in order to accomplish kingdom directives?
We seem to be hinting that we are close to the sons and daughters being released.Can we see this same progression with Jesus?
How did Jesus handle the "evil"...did He blame his Father?,did He see evil for what it was and just laugh at it!?
Jesus went through the same things as us...I'm just looking for the answers in the word

John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.


Christians love to quote half of this verse to show that they are not responsible for what happens in this evil world and thus, are legitimate to disengage from it. 

But, Jesus never disengaged.  He didn't hang out by himself on mountaintops singing religious songs.  He went off by himself to pray often, but he rarely prayed in public.  He rarely went inside the synagogue. 

His relationship with the religious leaders of the time was always contentious.  Jesus fed and healed the common man.  He was always out and about doing his Father's business, and placing himself in constant danger because of it.  He was active and pro-active.

If he returned today, he would look as radical now as he did then.  Before his death, he told Pilate "now is my kingdom not from hence."  But, it was near, as near as passover to pentecost.

Luke, chapter 2, from about verse 42 till the end
was what I was just reading.
At 12 years old Jesus knew who His Father was, and he grew from there to the Jordan.

Jesus handled evil in just the opposite way that Adam did, He overcame it.

But he did nothing on His own, only as the Father led Him.

Jesus may had had something like that at the wedding feast.

1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."

4"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."

So although He knew who He was by then, it took the woman to tell Him, NOW IS THE TIME.

11This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

Thanks everyone...I guess we must patiently wait while we receive our understanding.I was hoping for the fast track solution(ha,ha) if there was one?
Dieing to the flesh sooner might help speed it up,but I wish the battles would be simpler to understand and so get past them quicker

 all good answers...but until that last enemy death is placed

under His feet...and He was sitting beside His Father,nails it

for me.

   Another things..as long as He is warring in the spirit for

righteousness and truth...I see that as my Father has

  continued working,and so do I.

  I think it is only when He has His bride with HIM at the

  Lambs wedding that He truly rests...this due to a newly

  married man being exempt from service..to make the heart of

   His wife rejoice

   these are just some thoughts, really not put togather in any

  concrete fashion.

I think "My time has not yet come" simply means His ministry hasn't started yet. The ministry starts a little while after the wedding. Possibly at Pentecost.


John 2:24 writes "he did not commit himself unto them" so that seems another clue that Jesus' ministry hasn't started yet.
