Hey Martin, you posted this on another part of these forums, and I thought it very interesting.

"If I believed that someone loved me, but that I absolutely had to do something about it today OR ELSE, then not only would that very likely not be love ..."

Interesting because, it made me think of this: is there ANY love by ANY person that is TRULY love which ALSO says "Love me OR ELSE"??

I can't think of any person who could say this and truly be loving. How you can you learn to love somebody under pressure of a threat from them? I don't think you can. I don't love anybody because of threat of punishment, PERIOD. This alone should throw out any doctrine of eternal torment or annihilation. Not throw out correctional punishment mind you, but simply any over the top punishments as just mentioned.

definitely.  :HeartThrob:

The two great commandments...

The more the true picture of God is formed in a person's heart and mind...
the easier and easier and easier those two great commandments become.

It's truly wonderful. Those two great commandments.

I will be honest and say that lately I feel I have only NOW begun to love God... it's only lately become truly REAL to me. I've believed the true gospel (UR) for about 6 years now. But, I don't know... the "love your neighbor" part is what I seemed to be focusing on. But now the "love God with all your heart" part is what is starting to really get etched into my heart.

and it's because the picture of Him has become more and more lovely, overwhelming, and just... majestic.

Those two great commandments..
slowly but surely... it is the path to life.

slowly but surely... it tears down the false picture and builds the true picture.
day by day... the love becomes more and more real.

and that is what is so lovely.

There is absolutely NO love in forced love.
If it's forced, it's not love.
ET'ers unfortunately make that horrible mistake.
They picture "Every knee will bow" as some sort of twisted FORCING..
instead of what the REAL picture of love it actually is..

Every knee WILL bow... because the absolute overwhelming love will bring them to their knees.
It's a beautiful, amazing picture to behold in your mind and heart.

QuoteEvery knee WILL bow... because the absolute overwhelming love will bring them to their knees.
It's a beautiful, amazing picture to behold in your mind and heart.

The fact that we are able to feel this emotion, not just for our families, not just for our God, not just for all of humanity, but for life itself, is a priori proof that God exists and created us in his image.

Thanks, Sparrow!
