Hi wolverine. I have to admit that I don't normally see people who react to "UR" by such sorrow. I'm not sure because I don't know you, but is it possible that you have had these feelings before, regardless of UR? What I mean to say is, did you START having feelings like these when you found out about it, or did you struggle with despair on and off for longer?

hey there friend!
You are absolutely, definitely NOT alone.

I'm here... :hiya:

The feeling that you described, has a way of creeping itself into my mind.

You know what, sometimes I sink down with it, let it grab hold of me. But let's remember this:

All the ignorance, hatred, cruelty, greed... all of those things will no longer exist.
Those attribues will be no more.

They are slowly dissapearing more and more from those who have faith in Him.
Are we perfect? far from it. But the more we lean on Him, the more those things within us DIE and lose it's grip, lose it's power. We will never be perfect in this life. Never. But... you can put MORE of what you want to see into this world. LOVE. Let His love shine through you. Fight evil with Good! Don't grow weary. I know it's hard not to... but I'm here and I'm with you. I understand your frustration. I've been having mini meltdowns quite a bit this year. You're not alone.

But the important thing is to get it turned around and keep on going.
I've had the "I just want to be annihilated" so many times in my life.
But God doesn't want us to be annihilated! Because He has so many wonders in store for us. for ALL of us.

This life is just PREPARING us for our real life.
This life is just helping us to UNDERSTAND why we will all eventually CLING to Him forever.
(and be exceedingly glad and happy to cling to Him!!! He is the source of ALL goodness, ALL LOVE! And He is our Father.) We are all going through the "birth pangs"... and part of the birth pangs is having to live in this "fallen" world. We have to go through the contrasts of love and non-love so that we can actually truly UNDERSTAND and appreciate LOVE! (GOD is Love.)

Hang in there, wolverine....
I'm standing right with ya.
I know exactly what you're talking about.
But just... please believe that I am right here with ya.
and God is holding your hand.
Everything is going to be ok.
The only thing that lasts forever is the LOVE.
Believe it.
Everything else is being burned off.
All the dross is being burned off.
All humans will be purified.
LOVE HAS ALREADY WON.
Just... a lot of people don't know it yet! That's why there is all the hatred, greed, etc. etc.
LOVE HAS ALREADY WON.
BELIEVE IT.
LIVE IT.

Psalm 27:14
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!

Here are a few quotes I copied and pasted from another message board awhile back.
I always read through them when I'm feeling a bit ick.
thought maybe it might help you too.
Just a reminder.. that the bad stuff... it's temporary. Only for a season, to TEACH.
The good stuff (love)? Eternal.

"What is then the scope of St. Paul's argument? That the nature of evil shall one day be wholly exterminated, and divine, immortal goodness embrace within itself all intelligent natures; so that of all who were made by God, not one shall be exiled from his kingdom; when all the mixtures of evil that like a corrupt matter is mingled in things, shall be dissolved, and consumed in the furnace of purifying fire, and everything that had its origin from God shall be restored to its pristine state of purity.

"This is the end of our hope, that nothing shall be left contrary to the good, but that the divine life, penetrating all things, shall absolutely destroy death from existing things, sin having been previously destroyed,

"For it is evident that God will in truth be 'in all' when there shall be no evil in existence, when every created being is at harmony with itself, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord; when every creature shall have been made one body. Now the body of Christ, as I have often said, is the whole of humanity."

"If sin be not cured here, its cure will be effected hereafter. God's threats are that through fear we may be trained to avoid evil; but by those who are more intelligent it (the judgment) is believed to be a medicine... The soul which is united to sin must be set in the fire, so that that which is unnatural and vile may be removed, consumed by the aionion fire."

do you want to talk about your worries and hurt?
I've opened up several times about very personal things and everyone here is very, very loving.
We're here for you.
We really, truly are.
Know why?
Because God loves you...
and His love for YOU is touching OUR hearts.
Know what I mean?

ham yeah..

wait. I was supposed to type "ha, yeah" not HAM yeah.
sheesh, ya got me making up new slang expressions here...

HAM YEAH!!!!! I guess that's better than Hell yeah!  :laughing7:

anyway...
ham yeah, I know that "pointless" feeling all too well.

But that only lasts while you are where you are.
Where you are is only a temporary feeling.
It will pass.
It's happened to me so many times, you'd think I'd realize it when it's happening...
but no, when you're in the middle of it, you just can't SEE the way out.
But eventually the light comes and clears away all the fog.

Here's another good read:  http://sigler.org/slagle/newpage3.htm
I have really been posting this link a lot, you'd think I was getting some sort of commission off of it or something... lol.

It really helped me out a month or so ago.

The belief of UR has done miraculous things for me.
But we still have to live in this world.
And sometimes when we don't CLING to Him... the world can drag us back down.

I struggle.
but I know He is there.
and He loves me.

I'm very, very much what everyone else would call a loner.
it's ok.
If you ever want to just ramble on to another loner...(well maybe you're not a loner. But I definitely am. Not a scary loner. Just a major introvert is all.)
just send me a message.
I'm not annoying.
I'll just listen.

peace, friend.

Here's a little happy song to listen to:
This is Home.

If you look up and read the lyrics... it's pretty much where my mind is most of the time.
I'm usually "home" in my heart and mind.
It's just sometimes I slip back into the world and forget...
That's all.
We don't have to physically BE home yet.
You can be there in your heart and mind.
He holds our hand, wolverine.
Don't fret... we're not home yet. but your heart can be there.
Because this is the TRUTH that we know.
The future for mankind.
For all of our brothers and sisters.
Who hopes for what is seen? We hope for the UNSEEN.
The unseen eternal.
This life is a gift.
To have faith.. it's a gift.
truly.
ok?
love ya.

ok. sorry had to come back to post one more thing:
love this. a friendship between a cat and a baby deer.
and a dog and an elephant. These videos always bring out the love and peace within my heart.

being depressive in the past I can understand your feeling, but the world to come will be different...

on the other hand, the idea of annihilation, never see friends again, is also not so pleasant

  Honestly WO

this world is the dead and the dead run it , Jesus comes in Spirit to quicken us even now and give life
the Word says we are NOT OF THE WORLD  , this world
we have  some life in us , of God being born again and all

we are of Spirit and Truth  and worship accordingly
UR is just a title that many take offense
remember all organized religion has a form of godliness but DENY the Power   we do not have to stay in that ,but leave it all behind , for the best is yet to come
we Know that the power is God Himself and praise that only , not of ourselves mind you
but From Him do we glory in and seek and  hope and wait in , He will never disappoint  :icon_flower:

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things you  have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Luk 7:23   And blessed is [he], whosoever shall not be offended in me
:HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

Yeah they started when i started believing...........well i kinda felt the same before i believed ,i mean its a good thing that God will reconcile all but at the same time i just don't want to be apart of it...........just want to be non existent....with no more worries and hurt.....

So the feelings were there, but believing the truth, caused them to come to the surface more. I can identify with that. One thing that believing the truth did to me, was caused me to look at myself and begin to see me more honestly, things I didn't really know. For example, one feeling that UR immediately brought out in me was a feeling of disappointment. Suddenly, since I knew the love of God would be given to all, I wasn't in the special camp that went to Heaven while everyone else went to hell. The truth that caused me such joy, actually also caused the sin in me to come out where I couldn't see it before.

You said: "just want to be non existent....with no more worries and hurt....."

What if you could be with no more worries and hurt, have all the despair and anger and disgust removed and still exist? The Gospel says that all our sin and pain will be taken away as though it were a virus cleaned from our blood. If God did that, do think you have something to live for? The end result would be the same, no more hurt, only without the non-existence. How about being sown in weakness, but raised in power? Maybe the Gospel can give you something to look forward to.

Dear  Beloved ,

no longer in that doubt or wonder what is wrong or right  so much
with every wind of doctrine

1Th 5:9   For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

1Th 5:10   Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

1Th 5:11   Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do.

1Th 5:12  And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

hi, I will be praying for you my friend. Cast your cares on the Lord my friend. It is not what we do or what we experience that is the most important it is what God does.I completely agree that this world is full of users and judgemental people but the Kingdom is not/will not be.Blessings In Christ

There have been many times when I wished to cease existing.  So I can relate to that.  But other times, when life is good and joy is full, I would not want to "not be".

I think at the consummation of all things, every creature will be glad "to be".   Perhaps we can be allowed a long nap when we die?  I really don't know what to expect in death.  But I'm not afraid of it.   It is being alive and suffering that I don't much like.

Sorry I don't have a pat answer for you.

Bless you -

I'm going through a major life change.  Like everything.  I've done this before.  It wasn't all that tough at 20 or 30 or 40 .... but at 60 I'm really scared.  I'm not as strong as I used to be and there is no work out there.  Ill be out of money soon.  I'm pretty sure God will take care of me.  Something will come up.  Or its time for me to go through some REAL trials.  Don't know.

In the natural I've considered checking out more than a few times of late.  It would be so easy.   But then who'd take care of my cat?   :HeartThrob:   I really really love my little kitty.  I'm alone.  I have no prospects.  I'll be lucky to live just another decade or so.  I've pretty much wasted my life and if I died today I would enter eternity with very little or no reward or crown.  I've believed but that's about it.  I don't think I've ever lead even one person to the Lord.

But I am alive.  I am aware.  Conscious.  I can say yes to Jesus.  I can let him work through me.  Finally.  Because I am broken.  I am nothing ... but a child of God.  It took me 60 years to get here and I've left a trail of sin and hurting people in my wake.  I am so sorry.  But life is worth living because I KNOW God loves me.  I don't know where I'm going but I know who I'm going with and it is very very good.

Don't quit wolverine.  You have a gift.  You know.  You know.

Scot,

Your testimony is very touching.   I'm sure you're familiar with the parable of the workers who were all paid the same wage no matter how long they had worked in the Lord's vineyard.   That's because it is by God's grace we all get the same gift - eternal life.

WOW i hate to just throw scripture at you but the first thing i thought was:

Psa 34:18 The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psa 51:17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

You are in good hands and blessed.
