"He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.  John 12:48

"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.  John 6:44

"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:54

Willi just posted something in another thread about the Last Day..the trump shall sound.  I also read a statement by Gary A. yesterday that "the time is short".

Got me to thinking.  With Gary's (what I believe is) Preterist leanings; Willi's (for lack of a better definition, help me out Willie) "timelessness" thoughts; many folks' either pre-mil or post-mil leanings, what do you think

a) the Last Day actually is (what will be occurring, what will lead up to it, what will we know about it, who will be here, in what form, how will we participate, etc.) and

b) what happens next, then next, etc. (culminating in God will be All in All)?

Growing up it was things will get awful/great falling away;  rapture;  tribulation; Jesus comes back for Armegeddon; judgment;  hell/torture forever; heaven, singing and playing harps forever.

Thoughts on the Last Day and what happens then and next?
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Don't know that there are really answers for (a) brother James... guess those who are involved will know they are involved... As JESUS noted, it is not our calling to worry about the "Last Day"... rather we are to be about our Father's business, and therein we are preparing for that day to come...

As far as (b) "what comes next"... what I believe "comes next" is what was BEFORE... The END ...is... the BEGINNING!

We will be returning to the ETERNAL state in which we were, prior to entering TIME, and prior to learning the KNOWLEDGE... which is what this TIME REALM is all about.

GOD already IS and always has been, ALL in ALL...  He never changes, so what He IS, He already IS!  He does not need any TIME definition... He IS what He IS...

Somehow, as members of this limited FINITE realm, we have practiced placing too much emphasis on the TEMPORAL, and literally NOTHING on the ENDLESS/BEGINNINGLESS realm of the ETERNAL...

What GOOD NEWS is in this list?  I see it as many subjects to UN-LEARN eh?  :laughing7:

I do see the LAST DAY, as the GREAT DAY, for it is the DAY of DAYS... when ALL of the Children of GOD are made ONE and return for the Big Family Reunion in the Sky!

It is something to LOOK FORWARD to, not to DREAD... The GOSPEL is GOOD NEWS ONLY... No "awful, tribulating, judgment, hell" etc...

It is when ALL shall either LEAP for JOY at the appearing... or get over the SHAME of their lives... in any event, ALL in a POSITIVE motion toward Him instead of running from Him...

Guess we will all find out -- eh bro?

I believe in the "High-way" of LIFE, LOVE and FORGIVENESS... instead of the DREAD and DEAD "Boulevard" of DESTRUCTION, HORROR and SORROW...

Alright, got it started.   Further thoughts anyone?

WillieH,

What do you think being judged on the last day means?

Quote"He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day."  John 12:48

And, could the last day be when Jesus died on the cross, as he said it was the/a judgement of the world?

QuoteJohn 12:31
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.

QuoteJohn 12:31 (Young's Literal Translation)

31now is a judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast forth;

Nathan

For me, Zechariah says it really well . . .
Zechariah 4:7
Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

The message is one of death to "man" in men, but Grace to "men".

Scripture states that my mind is at emnity, it rejects the things of God, it's at war with God . . it's "anti-Christ".  My mind is the carnal man . . .my renewed mind is my resurrected spirit bringing my mind into submission.

The pictures of Scripture are basically revealing the same truth, just in different formats.  The one truth of Scripture is, God created "man", the first Adam.  There were living laws for him to adhere to, primarily, subdue his earth . .but instead of subduing, he submitted and ate not just from the tree, but he received from his Eve . . .he brought disorder to the living law and because of that, he could no longer live in the realm of the living spirit, but was separated from spirit and cast into flesh, because it was flesh that he gave his authority over to.

So, the second Adam was sent to manifest in all dimensions, he was already spirit, but he manifest in body and soul to redeem the first Adam back to God.  And that's what we see in all these experiences of other men, God is causing them to act out his predestined plan from the foundations of the earth.  What Jesus did 2,000 years ago was simply a physical manifestation of what had already taken place in the spirit.  Hard to comprehend, but still true nonetheless.

Jesus is the "day".  He is the first and the last . . .Day.  The last day for me is the Sabbath day, it's the last day of the week.  Judgment comes "at the last day".  Jesus took judgment upon himself on the 4th day .. . because that was when the sources of light were made manifest to the earth, It was on the 4th day that God created the sun, moon and starts . . .so that when "the last day" arrived, resurrection would burst forth rather than death and darkness.

When one walks according to one's mind, all that is seen is death and destruction . . .simply because the carnal mind is in a fallen state.  But when one "chooses" to see from an ascended place, then the meanings of things change drastically.  Areas that once projected fear and shame, now project love and light.  That's why we say the written word can only "lead" you to the kingdom.  Because if you're still walking by natural reasoning when it pertains to things of the spirit, your perspective will keep you from being able to enter "into" the kingdom that the Word just led you to.

But when you read Scripture "inwardly" life begins to form "in" you, causing a rapture moment . . .after moment, after moment, it's all progressional.  So instead of seeing judgment come to all men . .that's seeing it outwardly . . .but if you see judgment coming to the "man" IN you . ..see the difference?  The last day comes when you enter into it.

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the time of the coming of the son of man . . .it doesn't mean that there is going to be another flood, it doesn't mean that judgment is coming to all men existing to be wiped out and annhialated.  Noah means "rest"  as it was in the Day (Jesus is the day) of Rest (something we enter into ourselves) As it was in the day of rest, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man . .the day you enter into rest, Christ will appear to you . . .it's not about doom and gloom man, it's about the wedding supper . .it's about intimacy with the Father.

The message is really just the opposite of what traditional interpretations tell you.

WillieH,

What do you think being judged on the last day means?

Don't know everything, but ALL GENERATIONS of Man appear in the SAME DAY which is likely the "LAST" DAY -- Gen 2:4 -- These are the generations when THEY were created, ...in the DAY that YHVH God made the Heavens and the earth...

ALL men are IN ADAM and ALL men are IN CHRIST... just not in the chronology and manifestation of TIME... EVERYONE appears in "NOW"... which (IMO) is the "DAY" of God...

Quote from: Tim B"He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day."  John 12:48

Quote from: Tim BAnd, could the last day be when Jesus died on the cross, as he said it was the/a judgement of the world?

The word "LAST" (as applied to anything) implies that there are NO more to follow... This says to me, that upon the EXPIRATION of TIME which gives way back to the ETERNAL... that ALL Judgment will be complete...

Quote from: Tim BJohn 12:31
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.

Quote from: Tim BJohn 12:31 (Young's Literal Translation)

31now is a judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast forth;

The "ruler" of this world is MAN... and he "rules" by his will, which by NATURE, is in OPPOSITION to the Command of God... for ALL have sinned... (even those YET to BE)  :dontknow:

One by one, our "wills" -- (re)bite the dust!  :laughing7:

I think Rebecca is correct, ...CHRIST ...IS... the "Last Day"... He is the SABBATH REST of GOD... reconciling all men, during the course of "NOW"... which totally encompasses ALL the moments of TIME... for all moments occur "NOW"...
