I'm just a bit shocked (as are the fundies) that SO many CUs are posting in the Christian forum there all of the sudden!

Those evil rascals!
Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

Glad to hear it, Byron. We know the truth has to come out eventually. By the way, I've been following your posts over at TEU forum. What a bunch of tough nuts, eh?

Just for the record, I find myself agreeing with you a lot more than them. I think some of those guys are a little too good at outsmarting themselves.

Orthodoxy is tough to 'reason' with. Love those guys though...

if that was the reason for his name, that would be pretty cynical

PRAISE THE LORD. I notice a lot of us are on City Data...We were taking over on another forum I was on at some point... The Lord is so good, I tell you, he will have his way and no devil in hell can stop him. I say that to say this. On Christian Forums ( The BIGGEST Christian site on the web )a little over a year ago they were trying to make it where we could not discuss at all the topic of UR because it supposedly went against the Creed or whatever. Well, I started talking about it and my post would be reported and sometimes threads closed. Then apparently it came about that they could not stop us from talking about it, and oh boy..lol!

All I could say was, "Look at my God".  :bgdance:

Threads were popping up everywhere about it, people were getting curious and questioning what they believed. I know a few who are afraid to admit it in the open that their mind is changing about ET now. God is awesome!....His word can't be stopped...  It can be hated, but you can't stop it...

I can fully understand that on a Christian site UR can't be discussed because it's focus is on Christian movements like:
Islam, Wicca, Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheism and other highly Christians denominations :laughing7:

LOL.  Back in my more orthodox days, I think I would have felt somehow "superior" to the Buddhists, Hindus, etc., probably less threatened.  Maybe UR is so on target it's somehow more threatening.  Hits too close to pet doctrines, pushes too many buttons, etc.  Just some thoughts/suggestions.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Hey guys,

I was just reading a bit over there this morning, and I see b57 has showed up there.

B57 is great for helping people to see what Calvinism + ECT really is. On his big "Jesus is willing" thread I posted a link from another UR forum where he stated that he and God would be "LoL" at the fate of the damned.

This is where many, seeing the scripturalness of predestination, abandon the ET ship (through conscience) and see the light.

Shadow

I dare say this is true, when I heard of the Phelps clan last year, and shortly thereafter seeing that Youtube video from Bill Weise that totally freaked me out, I was so horrified I went on to christian forums to find the truth, nothing could have prepared me for what I saw, which was the total opposite of what I expected to see

I was led to believe that atheists were immoral and bad, however this isn't what I'm seeing, if anything I have found the christians to be far worse behaved on forums, than the atheists

However I also heard about UR for the first time and what led me to investigate it further was the odd reactions from many christians, after all most claimed that deep down that they yearned for the salvation of all people, but their actions and words on forums speak otherwise  :mshock:

I've got to give B57 credit though, if ET does exist then his interpretation HAS to be correct, he may be pompous and most unlikeable, but at least he's not being a hypocrite, he openly states what he believes instead of hiding behind innuendos (I can't help but wonder if this is what the ET doctrine really looks like, when it's not hiding behind a mask). I can't imagine ever becoming so hard and indifferent, that I would actually relish in the ECT of another human being :mshock:

I may be confused but one thing has happened that's inexplicable, I have found that I have a level of forgiveness and compassion for people that I never thought possible and verses like the following keep going through my head

1 John 2.11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 3.15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

"He that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?" 1 John 4:20

Now for the punchline, who is our brother

malachi 3.10 10Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

In case someone tries to get clever and say this only applies to the Jews, like John Hagee(like the church I used to go to, that says that Gentiles could only get saved after Christ died on the cross for our sins)

Romans 3.29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Romans 3.30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

ECT = Eternal conscious torment  :dontknow:

Actually I'm so glad I'm not married to someone like B57, if I was his wife and read that he would laugh if I were sent to hell, I might be sooo sorely tempted to get a divorce, and I would feel totally justified in doing so  :sigh:

sparrow

It will be a wonderful sight one day, to see those like b57's knees crumble under the weight of God's love.. to see all their darkness cleared away, and to see their faces lit up so beautifully with the realization of God's love...

Just gotta look past this present darkness that surrounds, and look to the glorious realization of God's love.

Some just don't know.
And the not knowing can wreak so much havoc in the heart of a man.

b57... yes, it will be a glorious day to see all the darkness be chased away by the realization of God's magnificent love. Let's see him through those future eyes, eh?  :HeartThrob:

sven

we should rather have pity with him than to condemn him, if he has not a heart of stone, he must live with his belief, I guess if you believe such a doctrine, you'll often feel alone, alone with that picture of God that you created, alone with the demons of your mind, one might suppose to be an elect, and the whole world around one might suppose would to go hell, wouldn't that make one alone?

Shadow

This is just the thing, and I understand what you've posted Sparrow and Sven :HeartThrob:

One minute I feel this intense rage (my flesh perhaps), then the next I feel unconditional love and compassion, the point is I want EVERYBODY (even people I don't like) to be in heaven together :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:, in fact I feel so strongly about this that I don't want to be there myself, unless everyone else is there with me, including all the most evil people that have ever lived (once they have reaped what they have sown)

Isaiah 26.9

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

I mean we all have to put up with one anothers bullcrapola, whilst we are here on earth whether we like it or not, so what could be more miraculous than people that were once sworn enemies, really being able to forgive one another, and being friends  :HeartThrob: , surely that's what the restitution of things should be  :bgdance:

Shadow,
I remember I use to feel that same rage, then love and compassion. The rage was at the evil of the world I think...But, I remember that all too well. The love and compassion overwhelmed me in a way I had never experienced before, it was two years later that God opened my eyes...

Shadow

Thanks for posting what you did SPOKEN FOR  :HeartThrob:

It seems as if I'm going through something similar to what you went through, only I'm still going through it, It gives me hope that I'm not on the wrong path after all :icon_flower:

Perhaps one day I'll get to the same point you have reached :bgdance:

I post a bit over on city-data. I really like that forum. I recognize many of your screen names.
