2nd Corinthians 5:20 introduces the office of Ambassador. I would like to hear what this means to the other members.
What does it mean "we are ambassadors for Christ?"
What does an ambassador do to fufill that office?
Is an ambassador responsible to the foriegners in his "host" country,or...
Does an ambassador have a greater responsibility to fellow citizens of his native country?
Just what does / should this verse indicate to us as believers today?
Thanks for your indulgence.

:cloud9: An ambassador goes into a foreign land and conducts business on behalf of the ruler of his own country. In ancient times, he would be wearing the King's signet ring which gave him the right to put the King's SEAL on any purchases he made on the King's behalf.

We too, are ambassadors for a King  :icon_king: whose Kingdom is not of this world, and we (hopefully) are about our Father's business somehow, every day; which, if we're letting the Spirit do the works, means that every day is a Sabbath (rest).

And that we are capable of "purchasing" other lands (earthen vessels), and setting His seal (Holy Ghost) upon the purchased possession, thus securing the covenant (contract) made, and holding the purchased with a down payment (earnest), for the anticipated future complete dwelling place of the King (glorified body = King in full residence).

This is the reason why He sits at the right HAND (like a ring) of the Father, and why He shed forth the Holy Ghost in His sted, for it is the King's signet that marks us with His image.

And if this SAME SPIRIT, that raised Christ Jesus from the dead, dwell in you.......HALLELUYAH! Blessings....

..we hope on the Living God, Savior of all men, especially of those believing.  Charge these things and teach.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2
