As our body needs food to live, so does our Spiritual Body.

The past few years I have found myself driven by this unquenchable hunger, one that never seemed to get satisfied. I devoured deep spiritual books, fellowship on forums, reading others deep teachings and sharing the things the Lord had shared with me... all giving me a sense of being fed, yet I walked away even hungrier then before I ate.

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

This scripture had come to my mind many times and I always wondered why,  if I was coming to Him would I still be hungry? Something was not right. Was I really coming to Him?

Recently I found myself feeling so hungry yet all the usual outlets I frequented no longer where satisfying my hunger, not even temporarily and when I saw this Lord started to speak to me.

Our physical bodies are a parallel of our spiritual body. Both must be fed to survive.

When a person is physically hungry, they have a choice to either prepare a healthy, nutritious meal or run off and get a fast food meal. The fast food meal is quick and seems to satisfy, yet its lack of nutrients actually causes one to crave more and more food because the body was not truly fed and the toxic additives reek havoc on the body. We continue to feast on junk food and wonder why we continue to have this hunger, not seeming to get satisfied yet at the same time getting "fat". Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

In essence, I had so much hunger that It was too much work for me to prepare a true, healthy meal which would have been me spending time with God in whatever way He desired, eating true manna and getting truly satisfied.

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Jesus taught us to pray "give us today our DAILY bread" yet we seem to want to store it up, gather much in advance, to somehow give us what we feel is an advantage. The church has taught us "the more the better" but Gods view is that we get our DAILY BREAD from Him and only when we do this will be truly be satisfied.

Exodus 16:4
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.

Deuteronomy 8:3
"He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man  does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

Deuteronomy 8:16
"In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test  you, to do good for you in  the end.


There seems to be a GREAT purpose for God desiring us to only collect only our daily bread. God tests our obedience and test to see if we will "walk in His instructions" that we may KNOW that we can only live by everything that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.

Yet we set up and partake of banquets filled with chewed up, processed, secondhand manna fast food which we consume in mass quantities, thinking that we are getting nurtured when in fact we are getting puffed up (fat), not passing the test of being humbled and relying on Him for true manna.

Does God have something much better for us? A banqueting table full of rich and satisfying Food?

Lord, give us ears to hear and eyes to see what your desire is for each and everyone of us. May we be led by your Spirit and eating only from the tables that you have set up for us to eat.

Yes, God gives us our daily bread. These days not many people ask for their daily bread and serve God and so I notice that the more I "feed" from God, the more I seem to notice that people who don't serve God seem to feed on me! :eek: I'm sure others have noticed this as well, or will begin to.

Oh, but what a blessing it is to come upon one who has eaten their daily bread.....for they just seem to ooooozzzzzzzzzz out LIFE :girlheart:

  :laughing7: Pretty funny, and the truth. One way I can tell if a person is "feeding on me" is when everytime I talk with them I go away feeling horrible and they go away feeling refreshed, and invigorated, I avoid these types of people, one easy way to spot some of these people is when they like to argue alot or continually try to make you feel sorry for them. My mother in law is one of these people, even when she often "hangs up" in the middle of a phone conversation with my fiancee, these actions lead to a satisfaction for her, and depress my fiancee (she does these things often), there is more than meets the eye here.....energy has indeed transferred.

The Lord has been giving me more freedom lately to not feel obligated to continue in those types of relationships.  I'm so glad!

This is something the Lord showed me when I found myself repenting from my own gorging and it is one of my very favorite set of verses in the bible.

Pro 30:5  Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Pro 30:6  Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Pro 30:7  Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
Pro 30:8  Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Traditionaly organized religion  that we have so blindly accepted as the Church over the last two thousand years feeds many fancy dishes of ready made fast foods such as fables, myths, doctrines of men, religious rituals and spiritual pipe dreams of wealth unending ( all of course of this world) or the boxed up and packaged revelations given to another man who sells them for profit at religious church gatherings where in those churches they are preaching themselves first before the good news truth of the gospel, or your nearest christian how to do it book store, the more of this fast track food we might eat the more straved we become, I believe is Gods way of bringing us to put no other Gods before HIM, God shall feed us and him alone can satisfy the needs of our hunger in our exodus from the letter into the spiritual.

There is one mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus, not organized religious churches, not the Pope, not priests, not any man or churches who preach themselves the doctrines of demons and men.  All of these sources of food leave us at best lacking vital spiritual nurishment and at worst starving in spirit

And when the Spirit spoke to you in the exodus from the letter into the spiritual, weather that happened long before you ever read my reply to this thread, during reading or after there was  probably an increased inner comforting, peacefulness and rest? I ask because that is my personal experience of being lifted up due to a rest coming over me inwardly  that I was not aware of even exsisting in my former years.
