this verse is interesting, Isaiah 34:10

It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever. (KJV)

for ever and ever here seems to be le'netzach netzachim – for permance of permances as the Concordant version translates.

The Septuagint has:

νυκτος και ημερας και ου σβεσθησεται εις τον αιωνα χρονον και αναβησεται ο καπνος αυτης ανω εις γενεας ερημωθησεται και εις χρονον πολυν

nuktos kai ēmeras kai ou sbesthēsetai eis ton aiōna chronon kai anabēsetai o kapnos autēs anō eis geneas erēmōthēsetai kai eis chronon polun

le'netzach netzachim might be translated with much time (chronon polun?) in the LXX, le'netzach netzachim might be the same idiom as age of ages

nocte et die non extinguetur in sempiternum ascendet fumus eius a generatione in generationem desolabitur in saeculum saeculorum non erit transiens per eam

the vulgate seems to have saeculum saeculorum (age of ages) for le'netzach netzachim

another interesting point is, that there is eis ton aiōna chronon, chronon I think means time, so possibly an aeon of time? - which might prove that they didn't use aeon in the Platonic sense of eternity contrasted with time (chronos) could anyone translate the Greek verse here? - do you get what I mean?

and than in verse 17 it says

And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

isn't the land meant where noone should pass through it "for ever and ever"?

It's about Edom not Sodom, I thought aeon of time is an interesting expression, also le'netzach netzachim which is age of ages in the Vulgate, I think the "forever and ever" of verse 10 ends in the same chapter in verse 17

This is a very literal translation...

By night and by day shall not be quenched to the long age,  and the smoke shall rise up above to their generations, and it shall make desolate to numerous long time

The phrase  αιωνα χρονον indicates a very long age
