Anyone ever watch Ray Comfort debate atheists?

This what happens when you get Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort in a match against atheists, using their same old logic (Hell comes up a few times), to try and win these guys over (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDUBfRSf63w&feature=PlayList&p=7E05AD9CA3D652ED&index=0).  I'm going to turn this into an exercise.  All the parts of this video are in the playlist, so if you can muster it, watch them.

Now, in what ways were the two Way of the Master stars flawed?  How were they correct?  And what would you say in response to the two atheists?

Sorry, but I'm bored.  I'm working on my responses right now, but I'm curious as to how you guys respond.  I have bad luck with sharing my faith, so I probably wouldn't be a good choice candidate to represent the Christian side!

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Still working on my response, but what did you find so great about the videos?  It's interesting to get this debate going on television, but I think I wouldn't have chosen these two as my champions.  Firstly, I think it's kind of flawed to try and prove God's existence without the Bible, and Ray did mention the Bible right away in his opening statements.

The most interesting thing about this face-off is that when I come accross people like the two atheists, I get very flustered.  I'm not good with confrontations if they're not online (I need time to formulate a good response), so I think it's pretty brave of them to be so willing to debate on national television.  However, the challenge was pretty great, and I don't think they did so hot.  Unfortunately, I didn't see much evangelizing going on...  :dontknow:

The good part was the fact that their was a discussion. Also that everyone got plenty of time to speak their mind. The public wasn't hand pick to either always support the atheists of believers. I've seen different.

The lady was weak but her closing words where true. There was no proof presented for the Bible.
Ray and his friend (who was a better speaker) could have done better breaking down the atheists claims that evolution was greatly proven even if there where no fossiles on the whole planet trough other sciences.
Firstly science without evidence (fossiles) is faith. Other parts of science point away from Darwian evolution.
So that leaves science with a much weaker hand.

QuoteUnfortunately, I didn't see much evangelizing going on...
Far to much IMO. The moment they started speaking about love/commandments/etc they weakened their position.
You can't proof God (Rays opening claim) by saying God is fantastic.
Something similar can be said about the lady several times mentioning negative things in life and then linking them to God. You can't link to something you don't believe in. For the excistence of God it is of zero relevance that God is extremely kind, cruel or everyting in between. But Ray gave her that ammo...

I've started looking at the series on youtube.  Don't know if I'll finish.

One big thing for me in talking to people about coming into a knowledge of God is I try to bring the topic into the now.  Rather than how, the processes by which things came to be as they are, I emphasize that they are.  There is something rather than nothing at all.  That is a self-evident truth.  It sidesteps Evolution debates.  Win or lose and how much closer are they to experiencing the spirit of Jesus inhabiting their body with them?  Not only is complexly ordered reality happening all around us by some means, God is present and willing to make Himself known.

Ray and kirk, didn't actually debate,  they used it as a platform to preach and try to make atheists look dumb, I have little respect for them.

Same here.  They did little other than rehash the same things they say on their television program, and the rather hardened atheists debating them seemed to know what to expect.  It's as though they were prepared for a debate while Ray and Kirk were expecting a pulpit to preach on.
