No you do not. =] I used to believe in Eternal Torture, Hell, but this family here has helped to show me that that is not the case and how rediculous that belief truly is. =D

Welcome brother. May God bless you. <3

Hi, Welcome to Tentmaker's Forum,

No, you don't have to believe in a firey hell.  You're even free to believe that Armageddon happened a few decades ago on television between Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny, and although a couple of folks around here would snicker over your trying to be serious with that on the Book of Revelation board,

[particularly with charts, Bible code info, photos, video footage, and other proofs of the carnage, along with signed testimonies that Daffy Duck and Marvin Martian were the two witnesses that have since been raised from the dead,]

but everybody around here's going to love you like family.  Christ Jesus is the Lamb of God that took away the sin of the world and not just of the pious.  He's the propitiation for our sins and for those of the whole world, according to 1John 2:1-2, and it does say for the whole world in those verses to avoid any confusion on the matter. :cloud9:

Welcome Rani!

I hope you learn, as I have recently, how much Scripture opens up when you get beyond the perpetuating myth of hell, and find a renewed love of a God and His mercies!  :icon_king:

In any translation or any language, the message from God is simple and clear:

"For God, so loves the inhabitants, that he sent forth his only begotten Son,..."

And for the second time WELCOME from the heart :declare: of the Spirit. :declare:

the word hell is not in the original languages...it's mistranslations of words meaning the grave, the unseen, a garbage dump outside Jeruselam that was used in 70 AD to throw the bodies of the Pharisees when Israel and the old temple worship was destroyed...God's punishments are corrections, for a purpose, and His destruction is the doing away of evil, including our carnal flesh, so the spirit is saved...(I Cor. 5:5... "the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus".)

God's blessing, welcome, James.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Actually, you don't... I repeat, you DON'T need to believe in a fiery hell. And I will go even further and say that you mustn't believe in a fiery hell, because this doctrine may make a human being insane.

Even God haven't had such thoughts when he saw burning children (if i recall correctlyy).

thats right, look at Matthew 5:43-48, this chapter is the first appearance of gehenna, the valley of hinnom in the NT

Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you, that ye may be the sons of your Father who is in the heavens; for he makes his sun rise on evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust.  For if ye should love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not also the tax-gatherers the same? And if ye should salute your brethren only, what do ye extraordinary? Do not also the Gentiles the same?  Be ye therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

and now look at Jeremiah 7:30-33

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith Jehovah; they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.  And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded not, neither did it come up into my mind. Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, when it shall no more be said, Topheth, and Valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter; for they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place.  And the carcases of this people shall be food for the fowl of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall scare them away.
