Hello,

I just joined the forum, and I wanted to introduce myself and give you guys a little background. I am new to Christian Universalism. I am from Tennessee and grew up in a Southern Baptist church. I kind of just accepted most of the things I was taught in church when I was younger but always had a problem with the idea of hell and the fact that alot of things just didn't seem fair or characteristic of a loving god. As I got older, I really started questioning alot of things and began forming my own ideas, rather than just blindly following what I had been taught. Most of the things that I came to believe are really the basics of Christian Universalism...I just didn't know what it was called or even realize that there was an organized group of people who practiced it. I then started doing some research online and came across some great resources, including this site. Like I said, I am new to CU and still have alot to learn. I am excited to be here and thankful for the great resource.

I'm very glad you're here.  Also had been a member of So. Baptist for years, God in His mercy began to show me (and my family) some other things.

Quick story...revealed my new beliefs to my son...he told me he had been listening to the preacher a couple weeks prior, and had the thought, "there's got to be more to it than this" .

Welcome, God's blessing, James.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Welcome IceMan,

All it takes is to punch some holes in our religious armor and let the Holy Spirit start to lead us into the truth. We know that God is pure love and that He never meant for even one to be lost.

Yes, I am very much into auto racing. However, the person in my avatar is Kimi Raikkonen, who was the 2007 Formula 1 champ. His nickname is Iceman, hence my moniker. I like Nascar and Indycar as well.

Ahh very good.  I don't follow much outside of NASCAR for lack of time.  Good to have another race fan here.
