I guess there really is nothing new under the sun. The ole pagan fire worship is gaining ascendancy once again but this time is being clothed in new garb by Christians.

They say that God is fire and say that the lake of fire is God since God is fire.

So this morning I was thinking about all the millions of people who light their cigarettes this morning around the world. They should pause and worship that little flame at the end of their match or Bic lighter. After all, that fire, some would claim, is God.

And the next time you have a weenie roast? Christians around the world should bow down and worship the fire in that camp fire for, according to them, that fire is, yep, you guessed it, G-O-D.

So the next time you see a fire burning down a house, don't stop to help the kiddies inside. Get out of your cars and bow down and worship the fire God and thank this fire God that He has chosen these little kiddies to consume.

Forest fires threatening your neighborhood? Don't call the fire department! Bow down and worship the fire! After all, it will purge you of your sins and make you worthy of God's fiery presence! Who needs Jesus? Just thank the fire God He has chosen your neighborhood for salvation! This adds new meaning to "being on fire for the Lord!"

Just because God says He will save all mankind
does not necessarily mean He won't.

I suppose we would all be guilty of this idol worship in Christiandom if a person didn't understand similie and metaphor.

No more descriptive of christianity than than those universalists psychotic enough to think God would actually save everyone.  I mean what a bunch of devil worshippers they are.   :laughing7:

Sarah, you hit the nail on the head!
Are you the same Sarah that knew Laird?

Yea, and we are hell bound for actually believing God when He says He will save all. Go figure!

Sorry, I'm not sure who Laird is, although I used to know a special education teacher with that last name.

So those Christians know the difference between a spiritual fire and the fire on the end of your match.
Likely they aren't the pagans you accused them to be in your first message....
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...
