My name is Alison, I came across this board yesterday, I had seen Christian universalism discussed on another forum but it seems to not be met with much enthusiasm there, on another forum It's banned from being discussed altogether :mshock:

However, it seems to make far more sense than either Calvinism or Arminism , which both don't explain WHY God created the world if He already knows the final outcome, which he has planned :sigh:

I did once accept Jesus as my Saviour, but I have a problem with accepting in an eternal burning hell for as the calvinist's put it the "non-elect", or "reprobate" :sigh: :dontknow:

Please understand, I'm not saying that people should not be punished for their sins, but the punishment should be corrective or at least the people being punished should one day just cease to exist altogether (annihilism) which is far preferable to eternal burning :happy3:

I just cannot love a God that would torture someone forever and ever, or allow it to happen when he could stop it :dontknow: :sigh:

I also can't believe that there are Christians who have no problem whatsover, with the fact that people could be suffering in agonizing torment forever, if Calvinism is true then it's one of the most depressing things I've ever heard and God's joke on humanity, as I said I could not worship/love such a god :sigh:

Oh please let this be the true answer I'm looking for, as it as least makes some sort of sense :HeartThrob: :gangel: :girlheart:

........ if Calvinism is true then it's one of the most depressing things I've ever heard and God's joke on humanity, as I said I could not worship/love such a god :sigh:

The good news is you don't have to! God will have all men come to a knowledge of the truth.  :boyheart:
