I have just discovered this website and find it rather intriguing.  I've been a Christian for 7 years and I'm starting to question certain aspects of the Bible and theology in general.  After going through a horrible marriage and then watching all my pastors' reluctance to address any of my husband's addictions and abuse....well....I was terribly disappointed and have had my eyes opened wide to the prevalence of sexism that exists in many, if not most, of evangelical churches. They tell the wife that you have no biblical grounds for divorce(although, I personally feel that pornography addiction IS adultery!) and tell you to buck up and pray that your husband changes while not even making a phone call to the man.     Probably the most important thing that I've gleaned from this site thus far is that I should truly seek to follow the "heart" of Jesus' message and pray that the Holy Spirit guide me in seeking to understand His Word.

Thanks for all the great info on this site!  It truly has been a Godsend!

:cloud9: Welcome to the board........and I hear you more than you know. Went thru the same kind of response when my own ended. Thankfully God had me in a place with Him where the words of man had none effect, or they would have done some real damage. I feel sorry for women who don't make it out of the system without first being so damaged by the system that they equate that with God and turn from Him in hurt and misplaced betrayal. I saw so many babes "murdered" by the churches in this fashion.

Praise God He has His hand on you, and the words of the flesh that were spoken to condemn you have no power this day, and you are FREE to ascend into Him and HIS ways. May the blessings of God come upon you and overtake you as you discover who you are in Him.  :girlheart:

Hi, RoseOfSharon!  :icon_flower:

What a nice time of gleaning you have had!  I met another Rose of Sharon once.  Could you be the same?
