Many people don't like science fiction. But if we set aside personal movie preferences and look at the message communicated, I think we can see that there have been some things portrayed which give us a glimpse into what God has in mind for mankind.

Ben Kenobi in "Star Wars" said before dying, 'if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.' A powerful concept which seems very Biblical. (Although unfortunately, in the various sequels we never saw this awesome power he claimed to obtain.)

A movie came out later called "Artificial Intelligence." In the last 20 minutes or so, we see the appearance of some creatures which held some of the characteristics I believe we will see in the Sons of God:
-   a peaceable character,
-   the power to resurrect,
-   the ability to travel to far away places quickly (albeit without spacecraft),
-   the ability to tolerate extreme temperatures and other physical conditions without the need for special clothing,
-   the ability to know all things about people (even without the physical contact we see in the film)
-   the power to create
-   the power to communicate in other languages spontaneously (in this film they communicate with the boy in English, although we might imagine that they had another native tongue)
-   and a physical appearance which lacks "individuality traits." (Their physical bodies are very slender. I see this as indicating that power is to be found not on the physical level, but on a higher, spiritual level. Is not our food Jesus Christ Himself?)

I found this exact clip on YouTube (the music is not from the film) and you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM0_y4N7ufw&feature=related

I'd like to hear your thoughts!

Brian,

I used to see the manifested Sons as appearing very supernatural, almost angelic, as they moved among the people blessing and correcting to bring the Kingdom to manifestation. I am not so sure now.

Think about Jesus as He moved among the Jews both before and after His resurrection. He never did any mass healings or truely astoundingly supernatural miracles en mass. He just moved among the people with nothing about His appearance that He should be desired and blessed and corrected face to face, one person at a time.

All people will have to come the same way as Jesus did and these manifested Sons will have come. They will have to learn obedience by the things that they suffer and will have to live by faith to receive from God. I can see these Sons walking down the street and seeing a funeral possession like the widow that Jesus met and they will be moved with compassion by the Father and will bless that one and move on.

I used to think that all will see Jesus coming in the air at the beginning of Tabernacles and these Firstfruit Sons will be clearly glorified and seen this way as was Moses when he came down from the holy Mount. But, I think it will be more subtle than that. They will appear here or there as ordinary men whom the Father always hears when they pray. They may speak words of acceptance to a woman at a well or stop the stoning of a sinner surrounded by religious zealots in Iran, but other than that, they will appear to men as men. And yet, they will also be able to change their garments and appear before God and His throne to minister to Him as priests of the Most High.

No proof for all of this, just how I feel today.

The sons of God are already here.  The one salient characteristic they have to an observing eye:  they speak the truth and work for the truth, tirelessly.   Go watch the movie, Amazing Grace, again and you will see them there.  That is a true story.  The only problem is--there are not enough of them yet.

Kratos:
I agree with you in part. Yet I see Jesus as one who also walked in the supernatural. He escaped a lynching crowd just by walking through them. Not something many can do today.
His accusers fell down before Him when He said, "I am He." That's Holy Ghost power.
He walked on water. I have yet to see that one myself.
He raised His hand and stopped the tempest. That, too, is Holy Ghost power.

Even one of the disciples, after witnessing to the man reading Isaiah, was "taken away."
Peter's chains were loosed through prayer.

These are supernatural things which I really believe we shall see Sons of God moving in. I don't agree with Molly that they are already here, because I believe that when they are manifested, the world will tremble.

To me, you can't keep God's Spirit down. When it comes, it comes with power. Yes, truth is upheld. These will be those who, like Jesus, will say, I do what I see the Father do. It's not just about doctrine. It's about supernatural power.

Peter or Paul (I don't remember which) also resurrected one from the dead. THAT is GOD. And I believe He will be imparting that power to us some day.

Well, at least that's what I'm seeing today.. :)

Love to all,

:cloud9: They're here, they're just not fully manifested for public display yet. The fact you or anyone else even knows about them is proof they're here, because the revelation of what that even means has to be given you from above, in the appropriate timing. He only reveals things as you are able to walk in them, or getting ready to walk in them. He is in us, waking up and stretching His abilities/nature in us, as a man wakes from sleep and stretches in his garments. Christ in us, the many-membered body is the Son(s) of God, walking in our flesh garment.

We already have all those abilities as He is in us, but He will only manifest them in His season and partially, until all has been accomplished in us. We can do all those things now, but only as He lead us, and because He has not led us in all of them yet, we think we can't. I know this to be true, because He has on one occasion (to my shock), given me authority over the weather (a tornado), and has performed miracle healings. But it's HIM telling you what to do, and then the Spirit performs the Word/breath that was spoken. When all is completed in us, it will no longer be Him TELLING us, but Him simply DOING it thru us out of a complete nature change, bypassing our carnal mind completely as it will be consumed by the light of His appearing. Blessings to all.....

I still don't agree that because we have been given a revelation of the Sons of God means that they are already here. In this, I side with Mickiel. The Spirit can't be hid. When it comes down, the earth's gonna shake. I believe that what we're seeing right now is only breezes. But the hurricane is on its way.

Now I don't know what you all think about what Jesus said in Matt. 9 about the Son of man having power on earth to forgive sins. I think this is another work which we are called to do today.
Now, yes, God reconciled man to Himself at Calvary. Still, men are being called to "be reconciled!"
Christendom would condemn anyone who forgives sin, saying that 'only God can forgive sin.' We are called to intercede for others who don't know Him yet.
And it's easier than saying, "be healed!"

But Christendom will always want to put a lid on what man can do in the Spirit. The anti-christ has not been taken out yet, and we will find it raising its ugly head within all people, including us, if we aren't looking to Jesus (God) in surrender. We have to put our "all" on the altar, or we'll miss it!

Brian,

Jesus after His resurrection is our Biblical example of a manifested Son of God. Yes, He could walk through a wall and be translated form one place to another. He could, also, eat food and be touched. I like the teaching from the OT priesthood where they would put on a woolen garment to meet with the people and a linen garment to meet with God. Manifested Sons will have immortal physical bodies that will appear normal to men and selestial bodies by which we can minister to God in Heaven.

However, the vast majority of people alive on the earth after the resurrection had no idea that there was a manifested Son in the earth. Jesus was revealed to those whom the Father wanted Him revealed to and the rest went on as usual. I see where we are heading as similar only multiplied by many Sons who have come to glory.

:cloud9: That's because you don't yet realize that the sons of God are the many membered Christ in a many-membered body. Only begotten Son means just that; there's only ONE begotten of the Father, and the Father is SPIRIT. Peter, who do you say that I am? "The Christ, the Son of the living God". Flesh and blood (including Jesus's) has not revealed this to you but my Father which is in heaven. Upon THIS rock or revelation of who Christ is, He builds His church, or called out ones. Blessings to you.....

PS. Yes, the Spirit can be hid. The angels had to be told Who to worship........

Yes, Amen, there was always only One.

Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

eirinikos

My dad tells me about an experience he had.

When he was seeking God, he knew nothing except whatever goes on growing up in catholic school.

He read about the promise of the holy spirit in the bible, and one night on his bed asked God for the promise. He said as he laid there, suddenly, this "door" of sorts opened up above him, and within it he could see what looked like this golden light. But he said it had a sort of substance to it, as though he could have reached in and scooped out some of it.

A shining ball of it descended from this open portal, and splashed up and down his body, entering into him. He said it filled his entire being, and he was filled with such heat and joy. He said it happened so fast, and when he realized he was seeing some kind of vision, he went to put his hands together in the "holy" pose that they teach in catholic stuff. When he did that, he pulled them instantly apart again, because he was shocked by this feeling that he touched someone else's hands.

Just as quickly, it passed.

He said later he realized that the holy spirit is not a "person," it is the spirit OF God, it is the very substance of his being. "God IS spirit..." It is the eternal, uncreated spirit OF God, THE eternal life.

Of course Paul teaches that if we bear the image of the man of earth, we will also bear the image of the man of Heaven. That if we are patterned after the likeness of his death, we are also patterned after the likness of his resurrection. "oh that I might know the power of his resurrection" Paul said.

My dad says that in our present condition, it is our blood which gives us life, and our soul is trapped into the mortality and will of our fallen sinful flesh. The soul has no life within itself, it is dead. But it is given life from within from Holy Spirit, the holy source and substance of God's own being. Right now it is only our spirit which is quickened. But at the resurrection, the entirety of our being will be transformed.

The power of life in our bodies will be merged with the spirit, the blood no longer being necessary, it will be the spirit of God which will give us life, and the soul spirit and body will be unified with that substance of the spirit, of which the unity of marriage is a shadow & type.

Because we receive of God's own life (spirit), we receive of his own immortality. We will never again die as long as God does not die, and God cannot die.

This all sounds a little crazy, but I was listening to Elaine Cook's teaching on the resurrection  [ http://www.kingdomgospel.net/audio.html ]. And she said some of the same exact things. She told the story of a man she knew who was told by the Lord to go get a blood test because He wanted to show the man a sign of the resurrection.

The man went to the doctor and asked for a checkup. After they drew blood and did their other tests, he was sitting in the waiting room, and the nurses one by one began to come out and look at him all crazy. A little bit later, the doctor came out holding the vial of his blood. It had been transformed into some kind of almost liquid golden light.

I was floored when I heard it, because its what my dad has been saying for years.

But whatever the nature of resurrection is.. it sure as heck has GOT to be better than these cumbersome bags of bones we inhabit now!

:cloud9: AWESOME! YES AND AMEN! I have seen the door and I have felt the hands. In my testimony I told about seeing my spirit man as being composed of cells of light. They were gold in appearance, like living gold. As for the blood, I totally believe that. Blessings to you......

Where is your testimony? I'd like to read about that.
