They don't believe their own hell

A few years ago I attented a church building local to me.
I had been to this church a few times in the past.
The congregation had just elected a new pastor and I got to meet him.
He confided in me that he had no faith and thought prayer was a waste of time.
The next day in church I recall him boasting to his congregation:
"I don't come cheap" during his: 'sermon'. (Inferring that he was a much respected and popular pastor, (and also showing what his real interest was: (money))).
Then (at the pastors' asking); A large group of people volunteered to look after the garden/grounds (of his home and church) (which were given to him for free) - consisting mostly of very old people who could barely move.   :sigh:

A few months ago I was sitting outside a church building by chance.
A woman came out and chatted to me.
She boasted of her church not being a: 'typical' church.
"We even have a homosexual pastor", she said proudly.
She said I should come to her church.
I said to her:
"I don't go to 'church buildings'; because I BELIEVE the scriptures".
It transpired that she didn't accept what the scriptures said on many issues (in just the few minutes we chatted), - accusing Paul of being sexist (etc).
I asked her why she bothered going to church (and: 'TEACHING') if she didn't even believe the scriptures, (and I mentioned the greater judgement for those who: 'teach' others).
But I couldn't get anywhere with her.
Jesus called them:- 'blind guides' and said: 'let them alone'.
...So I left it at that.   :URWelcome:

The other day I was at a church building (which is used mainly as a community hall).
But the pastor was there (at the peaceful afternoon tea-party) and couldn't resist getting in a few words about:- 'hell' before the crowd of people gathered there.
Later I chatted to her and some other people (as a group).
The subject of: 'astral travel' came up somehow, and the pastor said:
"I'm not sure I believe in a soul".  (The same person who had just been warning everyone of the danger of having their soul fried in hell forever".   :dunno2:

MY CONCLUSION:-
I used to think:
"How can people believe in eternal torment and even function as a human being"?    :Chinscratch:
I mean; if we even 'thought' eternal torment might be true - surely we would be going CRAZY warning others about it, and would be spending our lives shivering in fear.
...Yet these folks walk-around (as far as I could see) with hardly a care in the world.
So, what I have learned from all of this is that these people simply have either VERY little faith, or no faith at all.

Any attempts by myself to guide these people to any kind of truth over many years always fell upon deaf ears.

Indeed there is more faith to be found ANYWHERE else it seems.

Just imagine what will happen at the:- 'great reversal' when all the RIGHT people are in all the RIGHT places.  :HeartThrob:

Beliefs about hell promote that we should fear God or go to eternal punishment.
When we are scared of anything else we try to avoid contact.
Having children come to me scared witless is not right.
Correction of mistakes usually requires explanation.
Seems that the church says that grace is how we are saved but the attachment of works is thrown in to the process.
Jesus points out many will come in His name,  but He never knew them.
History reeks of misuse of authority claiming to be god'driven.
Fortunately this happens to show us the differences between good and evil.
The coming correction exposes the things done behind the curtains.
These churches know about Jesus, but are still in the flesh.

When I say know about Jesus I mean their own definition.
Doesn't mean they are correct in their beliefs.

  I love this .

I know when searching the scriptures  you Think you have eternal Life , but they testify of Our Lord Jesus Christ

the Word is in part as Paul said it best   , we know in part etc looking though the glass / mirror darkly

But it takes the Holy Spirit to actually teach us Himself,[the wisdom of God ]  this witness is the Spirit of prophecy and testimony of Our Lord Jesus Christ and has been since the beginning

  before this temporal world began.

I recall the first time I read Paul's  mystery message of calling  it ''the foolishness of preaching ''

1 Corinthians 1:21  how God's wisdom often contrasts with human understanding, emphasizing that what seems foolish to the world is actually the means of salvation

for believers or those drawn in the Holy Spirit  by the Fathers Will in the first place  .

At  13 I was baptized in a church, because even though my selfish motive of the heart was   ''foolish'' understanding of burning in a tortuous hell forever was fearful. and of self-preservation.

This seems to be the beginning of all the church folks motive and settle for this   gift of God though Jesus Christ sacrifice of Love for the world /mankind sitting in the darkness because of sin separating us from Him .

Not a choice of our own doing , none the less , sin nature increases death and more sin and death on all spreads like a wild fire  upon one another and those stumble and cause others to stumble etc . .

Till those called out of the world  by the Fathers drawing them out  unto Himself to be taught of the Holy Spirit  into His marvelous Light   to do and posses His will being done on earth as it is in Heaven

Gods Word is truth and His Spirit is His will being done  His very breath of Life to the dead .     Jesus Christ is holding it all together  the WORD made flesh  and His gift of LOVE , MERCY AND GRACE  to all mankind .

Psalms 40 sums it up  so  beautifully our sincere hearts motive in the end .   Fathers perfect Love overcomes all things In and though and ,by Our Lord Jesus Christ and those found moving and

breathing and functioning in Him to the end . ALIVE from the dead. Being the resurrection LIFE bought and paid for as His own possession He will Not deny Himself .
Jesus is the reward  !!
