There simply is no such thing as "the endless ages of eternity" as the preachers love to say, for the phrase is a complete contradiction of itself. No one who is sane and reasonable can maintain otherwise. To do so is to contradict all known facts and to contradict God's own Word.

Satan was created.
The creator is greater than the created.
Can the pot say to the potter why it was created?
Adam, the FIRST created being,  sinned.
Before the world began God knew this would happen.
This was planned so that no flesh would be perfect.
This was to display the need true equality would only happen through Christ.
Thanks be to God that all this will be taught to all at their appointed time through the ages to come.
Joseph into Egypt was like a demonstration of one chosen and set in place to set up the salvation of Israel by a chosen one just like Jesus Christ set in place for all mankind without them knowing until their time.

The first death is cast into the second death.  (Thus; the first death is done away with).
The second death has no power over overcomers of the first death.
The second death has power over those who failed to overcome the first death.

And so the righteous (who conquered sin (and thus: 'death') through God; are raised to life after the first death (not to experience death any longer, because death has no more power over them - seeing that the same spirit that rouses Christ is also in them).  Yet the unrighteous are raised to judgement (a following/second death) or 'another lake of fire'; which they will have their 'part' in.

The: 'lake(s)' indeed are temporal and for the necessary, loving correction of offenders of God's perfect law, to ensure all dwell ultimately in the paradise of God.  Though the lake(s) are no: 'walk in the park' (as anyone who has been through fire may attest).

A reminder to strive in doing our best - toiling for that crown of life - we who know the good we ought to be doing. -
- The present sufferings nothing in comparison to that future glory.   :banana:

Answer:

In the original language of Scripture, Hebrews 2:16 says, "God is not now laying hold of angels." So if He is not laying hold of them now, why should we? The present focus is on mankind. However, Colossians 1:15-20 does say all the invisible realm was made for Christ and is being reconciled through His cross. It would harmonize with God's character for our Good Shepherd-eventually at some future age-to lead His rebellious angels to repentance (Romans 8:19-23, Heb. 13:8). But apart from true heart-repentance, there can be NO salvation for anyone! I would caution against any kind of intercession on our part for fallen angels now. At present, we're in the midst of rescuing Adam's sons and daughters. We're plundering satan's prison-house, freeing all who have been "taken captive by him to do his will" (Luke 11:21-22, 2 Tim. 2:26).

Human wills, therefore, must first be made free (by the church's intercession and ministry) so they can respond to and receive Christ's light. Also, satan and his minions must first be judged and punished for their atrocities before we can sensibly think in terms of their eventual rehabilitation. See Andrew Jukes' Restitution of All Things mentioned in the reading list for more exposition of Scripture on this subject. His long-time bestseller, The Names of God, is still available in most bookstores. It's an excellent study of God's character. (Keep your Kleenex box handy! This book so tenderly reveals the heart of our wonderful Lord as shown in Scripture you'll probably cry a lot!)

It sounds as though you perceive satan as a former bad guy who becomes Jesus' best 'happy' buddy on the new earth? - Such teaching does not come from Scripture but from (what Paul calls: 'prattlings' of men) (false knowledge).

'Study to show yourself approved.'
'One is your teacher'.

Test what people say against proper Scripture study (and see if it holds up).

Scripturally then; Satan is an adversary (d-evil) to God's 'good'.
When creation is restored back to God - this: 'adversary' will be no more.
There is nothing 'good' in satan, never was and never will be.  He/evil was not once: 'good' and then: 'rebelled'... He is actually the father (source) of lies, and a murderer right from the outset.  Satan is the spirit (attitude) of evil, and with humanity eventually being full of Holy spirit (attitude of wholeness/goodness (etc)) - Satan (unholy/godless/goodless attitude) will be done away with.

An: 'angel' is but an: 'agent' of whomsoever they serve.
An: 'angel' or: 'agent' is one: 'delivering a message' - (whether good or bad).
An: 'angel' or: 'agent' or: 'messenger' may be in a human body or not (terrestrial or celestial (etc)).  (This is why some entertain 'angels' unknowingly (according to the scripture)). 
Paul was an angel - bringing his: 'ev-angel' (i.e. 'message' (to the Gentiles)). 
Paul thus was an: 'agent' or: 'messenger' of God - delivering a message from God - (a message of goodness, truth, sanity, wisdom (etc)). 
So too is ANYONE doing likewise an: 'angel'.

I cannot find the phrase: 'fallen angel' in Scripture, though I do hear people mention it often.

I was not going to say a word , because everyone of us must give an account of every word spoken, being good or bad and even in ignorance but . :Pray:

satan , become a prideful being /spirit in the presence of God , ''spirits of fire ''.

God Himself is described as a consuming fire.

  Please consider this.  they cannot be destroyed by any natural means. God cast him and his stolen messengers to the earth to do much damage, kill, steal and destroy by tempting us  with lies  only satan can tempt with lies to keep us from God  and kill the   good seed of faith planted in our heart , snatched away from us , by stealing what belongs to God .  But this is all so very temporary.   Only a short time and that is in the lives of all flesh beings for this moment in time. and it happens to every one of us , the most common of mankind since the beginning of time and place.
To me satan is a beast on a short leash , GOD IS IN CONTROL ALWAYS.
To me the fire is Gods presence of the burning off of everything that offends the Holy Spirit of TRUTH.  a type of judgment and a sword that cuts both ways separating the good from the evil the very anger against all forms and spirits of Evil doing and its fruits,

satan on the other hand is the anger against everything Holy and good that does offend, driven by fear not faith,

fear to me is the opposing of faith . and it causes anger to rise up in a man's heart instead of grief because of the sin nature within him , pride keeps him angry, we know the anger in ones heart  does not work the righteousness of God   Satan wants us to be angry with God for allowing sin  which is all forms of the pride of life to destroy any good thing working in us .

Satan hates us because God loves us so very much and gave Himself for us. satan knew and willfully sinned against God anyways, he cannot win, Love wins in the end. Gods love is GOD HIMSELF. That we might know this Love to the fullest possible way.

Dwelling the presence of God eternally.  The very weight of Gods glory set before us, we wait on the Lord to do HIS MARVELLOUS WORK.


  So God gave him this short time to try to do as much damage as possible, and allowed him to eat our flesh when we error /sin.  But in Gods mercy and great grace allows us to come back to Him if we humble ourselves and confess our wrong and makes a way when there was no way though Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Whom keeps us from the evil one.  Like the good shepherd that He is .

Most believers when they come to Christ are fear driven , afraid of the fire of the continual burning of Gods presence .His wrath upon them as sinners
  The main heart motive in the beginning, fear of the Lord , not knowing the love of God .
  Think about it , satan knew the love of God and yet did the ultimate betrayal against God by pride being and thinking He was every bit as good as God and could even do better pride in its vilest form.

This is why they burn forever and ever being tormented as they brought such torment upon mankind .    the Apple of Gods eye.  GOD IS fair always . when we grieve the Holy Spirit  we are in grave danger of experiencing the same wrath of God working in the children of disobedience, given over to satan for destruction in our flesh.

so in the Day of the Lord our spirits might be save there is great pain and suffering done in the world because of sin and  for me I believe you MUST hate sin as much as God does because its a harm that must be done away with forever more . with no chance of it ever being able to happen again .

ONCE for all time Jesus Christ come to destroy the works of the devil by His perfect and complete and mostly HOLY sacrifice of Himself , none could ever do what Jesus has done for us ever and we are indebted to Him for life, because HE IS THE LIFE ..

Seems only God knows, and Only God can make this a truth . We have to trust His desire /will.

I cannot in a good conscience make such a call or judgment . This bothered me for two days and nights now. I repent of it. I do not know.  God in His own glory belongs to Him and Him alone.

Rose I believe this is taught in Scripture for us to know and is understandable.

God is love - there is nothing to be 'bothered' about sister (in keeping you up at nights). - We are not to worry about 'anything'. - Why would we - when it begins in love and ends in love?  There is no fear in love.

God is love - restoring all creation back to Himself (back to love) - through His Son (Immanuel (In-man-You-El (God))  (God in man).  We are part of God...  The 'fire' (purification) is not eternal (according to an understanding of the original languages), but for however long the purification process takes for God (love) to be in all, - everyone to the measure of the Christ - the best version of themselves.  The liar no longer lies, the thief no longer steals, the drug-abuser sober, the insane in their right mind (etc)... That's what God is doing.  That's what the fire is for - fire that is right here right now...

Yes; far from being anything bad or rejecting anyone - the fire is what is BRINGING us to God.
Or: 'correction brings us to love'.
