Taking some time off from Tentmaker for a bit.

Yeah, I believe I've entered into another season where it's time to take a break from the Tentmaker boards for a while.  It's been a really weird day at the boards today. 


Overly giddy - even for me. 


And then I blurted out something about 2008 just briefly in passing, that I didn't understand and kinda shied away from at first. 


And then I found out that the Karma thing by everybody's post is a flesh popularity meter.  And I'd kinda said "C ya" on another thread in relation to that. 


But I'm now understanding my part of the 2008 thing that I blurted out, so I need to get ready for that.  Some new writing projects and some personal and ministry opportunities that the Lord wants me to pursue with everything that I've got rather than to just sit on the sidelines waiting on some day of personal perfection that's not going to happen without the resistance training of actually getting out there and doing some stuff that's been on my heart for years.  I'm to that point where it's time to do it or shut up.


Luv U guys and will be back as soon as the Lord lets me.

We actually had a similar thing to karma on another forum and we finally did a poll to whether or not we keep it. It lost and it hiding in the basement with titles by the names. Both lost the vote.

but, that isnt to say its wrong to have them at all. I think its just something we try cause its new and we see how it works for us, if it works and is used to edify folks then great. If not then its usually sent packing. So dont let it bother you brother. And sometimes God will use something as simple as 'karma' to get us to move on something, wonder if that is the case here???

ROFLOL! I love you too, Tony, and all of the rest of you that left a goodbye message that I've just seen.  I was sitting at this computer a few weeks ago when I think this thing got popped with some lightning.  Very aggressive storm, more than necessarily where the computer was situated.  Ever since my dial-up connection speed's been a 7k.  I'm not as hindered as you might think.  Some things take a while, obviously.  The Lord will provide for another modem and the rip off for simply having it looked at by people that can put it back together again if the computer case is opened up.

Anyway, among other things that I've been trying to get done, I've been baring quite a bit of fruit on an animal rights version of myspace.  Lots of interesting emails have been coming in from a weekly blog that I've been doing there and from links to my sites being on my profile page.  Even if someone had more than minimal sympathies for animals that frequents these Tentmaker boards, I wouldn't necessarily invite you over there 'cause ya might be a bit shocked by my mouth over there, where I know that I've gotta use quite a bit of "shock value" to even draw someone to click on a blog of mine, or to keep 'em coming to my profile for my links from the discussion boards over there.  Basically, if there's anybody in UR with quite the foul mouth that you can think of, uh...I'm sorta doing an impersonation over there.  But the emails are getting so interesting of people that I'm getting through to with blogs that cover everything from relationship advise, to UR, to AR.  I've been telling that crowd over there, "okay, we're in agreement on the whole animal rights issue, but if you could ever embrace UR, then there's a way of reading the Scriptures through the UR paradigm where the whole animal rights thing is a bit stronger in the Scriptures and you've got some serious Biblical ammo for dealing with Christians that otherwise make you so dang sick to your stomach.  It's the 'survival of the fittest' theology that you've gotta target, and then these other passages of Scripture take on a whole new weight for the Christian community."  Basically, what Augustine IS for the whole eternal hell thing, Aquinas IS for the whole eternal hell thing for animals.  Eery how Aquinas was born the day that St. Francis of Assisi died.  There's something so creepy about that, in the history of animal rights, that I won't take the time to get into here, but that there are interesting scholarly resources available about.

Anyway, I'm not back to dogmatize about that.  Just to take up where I left off as a bit of a trouble maker anyway (*wink and biggest hugs*) where most of us would agree.

Not sure if my comp will continue to degenerate.  It's funny for the Lord to say that I can wander back and forth from this site [again] at my discretion when the comp's so infirmed and I really don't know if I'm at any given time just moments away from being shut down from the net for a while.  But per the Lord's release to stir up the waters a bit over here again, I guess I'm [officially] back...

One of my reasons for having had to have departed, that for whatever reason (sleep deprivation perhaps??) I didn't mention as a reason for leaving Tentmaker for a while, was that I was starting to stick around 8 to 12 hours a day for a few days there.  I'm going to try not to get that out of balance again with my other responsibilities to the Lord, other websites that I have to continue to do some stuff for, and my need to start having a life for once, if that makes any sense to any over achievers over here.  :icon_king:

Every time I think I "know" which way to go, the Spirit is liable to turn me right back! So
I've learned not to say..........just that I "plan" to leave or stay....ha
Good thing we only have as much time as we have or no telling which way the Wind would
