What a great phrase! From the first chapter of Ephesians.. Wow what a chapter, yes? ?The same power that raised Jesus from the grave, is at work in us!? And then verse 18 says ?I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy/hagios-set apart people?. Notice the word ?hope?. I?ve often read that the word should tead ?expectation?. That we should know the expectation to which He has called us.? It being the greek word ?elpis: expectation, trust, confidence, hope?.
    The ?glorious inheritance? I take to be ?we shall be like him?/Jesus! He is ?forever first/proto?. He?s the prototype!? We know this of course, but do we fully appreciate/see it?
     Eph.1 says we have recieved the Holy Spirit of promise which is the guarantee (& down payment) of all that He has promised. That Spirit in our heart that cries ?abba! Father!? And we UR believers KNOW how GOOD he is!⭐️ And I think the word should be expectation! If we have that ?guarantee? in our heart. (Isn?t that more logical, in context, than merely hoping?
