I grew up in little independent, country Pentecostal Churches.  Heard and saw some amazing things, with all of it being a learning experience.  Happened to think tonight of a song my mom sang when I was a child, and thought I'd share a little of it.

Safe were the ninety and nine in the fold,
safe though the night was stormy and cold
But said the shepherd while counting them o'er
"one sheep is missing, there should be one more".

Although His feet were weary and worn,
And though His hands were rent and torn,
Although the road was rocky and steep,
Still the good Shepherd searched long for his sheep.

There in the night He heard a faint cry
From the lost sheep just ready to die.
Then in His arms to shield from the cold
He brought the lost sheep safe back to the fold.

The Shepherd went out to search for the sheep,
And all through the night on the rocky steep
He searched till he found him,
With love bands He bound him,
And I was that one lost sheep.

God bless you.

That was beautiful.  I am just old fashioned enough to really appreciate it!

Give me that ole time religion.

It's good enough for me.

Is that the same one that Moody would have Sanky (sp?) sing?

Who's Moody and Sanky?  Not the Moody Blues, not the Maull's Singing Convention...who is it?

Who's Moody and Sanky?

Moody was an evangelist and Sanky was the guy who would sing for the altar calls.   :Sparkletooth:

Ah, that Moody...I have heard of him...didn't know Sanky though...at first I thought of Spanky, but I didn't know a Little Rascal named Moody. :OhNo:.  You've got me curious now.  My mom's the only one I heard sing that song...I'm gonna research it now.  God's blessing.
