What does restore mean?

Pokathistemi, or the alternative form apokathistano is used to determine a restoration to a former condition of health.

Dear friends do you know what atonement means?

Jesus Christ is the atonement for each and every one of us, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Atonement = katallage

In Romans 5:11 katallage in the A.V. is translated as such.

HOWEVER

Katallage signifies not atonement but reconcilation, linked firmly with katallasso & to reconcile.

He is the reconciliation for us & the whole world.

The purpose of God has always been one of recovery. Sin entered the world by one single act of disobedience. Thru that one act the entire human race has been "made sinners".

Our Heavenly Father has a perfect solution, the same mass of mankind made sinners are destined to be "made righteous."

and he -- he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world, (1 John 2:2)

hilasmos- is the lid of The Ark of The Covenant and in Hebrews 9:5, it is translated as "mercy seat".

He is a covering in the image of God, that will cover and transform everyone.

In Hebr. 9.14 His blood is polus mallon.

In Rom. 11.24 the wild & natural olive branches are in the same polus mallon dimension.

Yes, and this majestic Prince-Leader of Reconciliation not only undoes the despair of Adam, He does it polus mallon!

The following post is by another individual on another Board, but reflects why for me, the Restitution is not simply Scripture, but our Father healing our broken beings.

"My friend died suddenly a month ago of a brain aneurysm. She left behind a son, aged 26. He weighs 35 pounds and wears child-sized clothing. He was born with over 100 anomalies, one of which is that a portion of his brain never formed. His mentality is about that of a four-month old. His body is twisted. He is blind. He doesn't speak, he doesn't laugh, he doesn't cry. He occasionally makes some noise, for example, when the wind is blowing in his face, which he seems to enjoy. He will also reach for you and grasp your hand or finger.

Yet, when you hold this boy, you feel his spirit. There is someone in there, and it's my theory that you feel his spirit so strongly because he lacks the physical and mental defenses that the rest of us hide behind.

I think he's ahead of the rest of us spiritually. I also think he will follow his mother before too long. He was expected to die shortly after birth, then at two, and now it's anyone's guess. I believe that now that he does not hear the sound of her voice, he will leave."

This young lad is one of the reasons the Restitution of our Father is so glorious!

Our God has promised to restore absolutely everything back to Himself. He has promised it long ago through the holy prophets and sages!

As a result of sin we have become separated from our rightful Owner. That separation requires intervention and a balancing of accounts.

I just recently was studying that word.. also translated "the restoration" - and found it literally means "re-genesis"! I found that to be very exciting!

2 Peter 3:11-13 says - " 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."

And of course there's Revelation 21:1-5 - " Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell (Tabernacle) with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."

And, 1 Corinthians 15:22-28 - "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father" - who iS a consuming/purifying fire! - "when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all."

The re-genesis! When He makes ALL things new! The elements melt (LOF?) and there is a new heavens and a new Earth wherein righteousness/perfection will dwell " (will rule). (God Himself (?) being Life itself and perfection, Mt.5:48)

[How does He have genuinely able to think and reason beings, aNd, keep paradise/perfection intact? I guess right there in the original garden of life you put the visible option of imperfection/disobedience/"missing the mark" even though imperfection is a bottomless pit of potential (in every imperfect heart) and it - imperfection, can only ever be trouble (tribulation), ruin (apocalypse) and ultimately, without His intervention, death (not being). Letting it run its course.. even some of the darkest potential (tartarus). [He returns with fire and His angels" 2Thess.1:7-8] and gathers the wheat into His barn after/as? the tares have been gathered to (fiery) armageddon, where there is mention of (a) LOF.
