Do UR Christians suffer from Demonic attacks in dreams?

I was just wondering if any of you experience demonic attacks in dreams. Because I always hear that ET Christians are being demonically attacked in their dreams which to me suggests that the Devil is mad at them or trying to get them off that path. I was just curious if UR Christians experience this as well. It seems to go back to the idea that ET Christians believe they are in a war where UR Christians are probably more layed back. Any theories on this or experiences of being demonically attacked while believing UR? I just wonder that if UR is the right path than UR Christians should be being attacked in their dreams as well.

Colossians 1;13 " Who has rescued us out of the authority of the darkness
and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love."

Before coming to be shown that fact I used to be having the concept of spiritual warfare. Fasting, casting out demons, people sharing their "dreams" as real and therefore should be listened to by all and sundry.

Being transferred releases that deception.
I.M.O those were necessary in the coming of Christ to demonstrate His authority.
In Christ we too have that authority and position.
Romans 8;38 highlights that nothing can keep us from God's love in Christ.
The enemy tries to distract us.
Knowing all will be saved releases for me the problem of dealing with dreams of any sort, because I am assured that God will deal with them at their appointed time, just like He did for us.

Amen! I can't help thinking that ET itself would give one nightmares! :faint: And perhaps be an open door to the enemy. I'm not saying I never feel I am being attacked, or threatened actually, or mostly. Which I try to remember  to rebuke  every negative suggestion/threat which comes to, or floats through my mind.. Like oh there's a pain.. it must be.. ie some dire thing is suggested.. when in reality I'm 64 and aches or twinges now and then are not surprising, lol.

Anyway, that's the way I think about it.. order away then ignore it and it will away (lol). Though some spirits/dark "messengers" can be persistent.. But we need to stand fast and insist that in the name of Jesus they must go away and quit harassing.. If things around me are crazy.. due to others around me or in the household, a form of warfare? I pray, order away and if needed pray the Lord's name over and over.. :Peace2:

If anyone here has trouble with frequent nightmares, your sleep position might have something to do with it. No, this isn't some sort of pseudo-science or mystical new age belief, look it up. Apparently sleeping on your left side(your left side on the bed) greatly increases the odds of having a nightmare and sleeping on your stomach increases the chance of nightmares and sexual dreams(which are not sinful or anything but worth mentioning and make of it what you will). I have been sleeping on my right side with the help of a C shaped pillow AKA "pregnancy pillow"(I just think of it like "I'm figuratively pregnant... with MANLINESS!" lol ) That kind of pillow is also helpful for side sleepers since it is a head, back, and knee pillow. I got this one if you are interested https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F9MJN2X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't attribute much meaning to dreams, they mostly seem like a collage of random thoughts/memories that can go back days or weeks or more. My dreams are often like video games I have played or shows or movies I watched and have seemingly random twists. I don't watch horror movies and few action movies(no purely action genre movies since I am just not interested anymore) and that helps.

Sometimes I suspect that maybe God is getting some point across but if he wants to get a point across, don't worry, he will. I had a particularly disturbing and violent dream that may have been telling me something. It was a vivid(not lucid) dream where I was a soldier in some war in a jungle and some enemy soldier shot or stabbed me and I became angry and vengeful and murdered him by stabbing him to death(which was incredibly gruesome) but he wouldn't die! After I had stabbed a him a few times I was overwhelmed with regret and "awareness of having committed terrible sacrilege"(I don't know if there is a word for it) and he was suffering and terribly wounded asking me to finish him off and I tried but couldn't. I woke up super relieved that it was a dream but I was still disturbed for hours! Since I believed it was real while I was dreaming, I suspect that is what murdering someone is like, absolutely horrible. Maybe there was no purpose to it or maybe it was to show me what murder or war is like so I could empathize more?

I accepted the idea that demons exist as supernatural beings but did not believe much in spiritual warfare before a number of strange dreams and experiences and witnessing certain things.

For example... In the latter part of one dream was passing by a small graveyard that was locked with a high fence around it with whitish old tombstones, I heard the voice of a little girl calling out for help or for her parents(can't remember). I looked and saw a little girl and boy by the fence looking at me for help, I climbed the fence(not thinking about how they managed to get locked in there) to help them out but they would not let me get close. At some point I began to get the feeling that something was seriously off and thought that they were spirits or demons or something(I am not that superstitious in real life or I don't think I am) so I was chasing them around the graveyard trying to catch them to see if they were normal flesh and blood children and partly to help them(if they were) but when I cornered them my eyes where opened(figuratively speaking) and I saw that they were adults(a man and a woman) or something else rather than little children(it was an illusion to lure me) and I reached out and grabbed one of their arms and felt that they were flesh and blood. I was aware(inexplicably) that they were demons or possessed by demons or something(and I wanted to help them somehow if the latter was true). They had malicious/evil expressions but the "woman" began trying to seduce me and caught me by surprise and I forgot about the "man" and I was being seduced(despite her giving off a vibe that she had evil intentions) and I felt that I had a choice between the right choice in getting away until I could get ahold of myself or giving in to the temptation and I chose the latter but woke up.

I have had at least a few dreams like that, being seduced by demons(not in the last year or two) and it was mainly happening when I was hooked on porn and when I was first making progress against my porn habit. I remember at least one was vivid and I have never had sex but in the dream it physically felt like something that I had never experienced(definitely not masturbation) nor quite what I would imagine it would feel like in real life. So I can understand why a person might believe in a succubus or something but I don't buy into extra-biblical demonology. I don't know what to make of those dreams but I know that I wasn't raised in a family or church that obsesses over demons or speaks much about demons at all and I was not in the habit of thinking much about them so it is strange.

While I was addicted to porn, I became increasingly perverse and whenever I would try to quit, I would fail. At some point my conscience had begun to awaken and I was trying to quit but couldn't and out of desperation I wondered if I could be "possessed" or something. I looked up stuff about it but couldn't find anything that seemed biblical, I am wary of demonology stuff(whether they call themselves christians or not). I prayed and basically said to God that I don't know whether I am supposed to use some kind of special prayer and asked him to just do it for me if so and to free me. And I think that is when I first started making real progress, not that I stopped succumbing to temptations overnight and I still screw up sometimes but I seemed to start improving after that point. Maybe it is coincidence, I don't know. I was already a christian unversalist for a few years at that point BTW.

And ith addiction it is like I was and still am to some degree up against a different person living in my head but that "person" seems to have the goal of undermining me in strategic ways. It is like Smeagol and "The Precious"!

My other reasons have to do with things like cruelty and the drive to snuff out the conscience that I experienced in the porn addiction(I stated preferring more sadistic, aggressive, and shocking porn which is more numbing on the conscience and there was a drive to be rid of the conscience). The idea of spiritual warfare helps me to make sense of how people can be so cruel and corrupt even when it does not serve them on any level. Some things I have witnessed and heard of just seem to horrible for humans to have come up with on our own. How did societies like SOdom or the corrupted Benjaminites become so horrible? The cruelty and perversion of porn and factory farms and slaughterhouses pretty much seal the deal for my belief that demons play a big role in society.

People debate about whether demons can possess a christian but I think the debate is silly and moot. Our ideas about possession are probably pretty skewed by our culture or christian subculture. People can live under psychological tyranny under other humans "narcissists" and so on. Who said that a demon has to live in our heart in order to manipulate and terrorize us?

In controversial matters, I try to consider the implications of each side being correct. Just because there are bad and unhelpful deliverance ministries doesn't mean they are necessarily all wrong. If people in favor of deliverance ministry or casting out demons(generally more charismatic types) are correct, then surely there would be all sorts of false exorcists and nonsense going on. So bad experiences with deliverance ministries are not enough to dismiss all of them. I am still skeptical though, especially of non-biblical demonology and made up rites and ideas to cast out demons.

What exactly do you mean by a 'demonic attack'?  I find many or most 'so-called' spiritual folks 'dreamers' at the best of times so if you elborate a bit I might have an answer instead of: 'It's probably all in their deluded imaginations' and any 'evils' they are facing; probably a representation of their own perverted thoughts haunting them.

I agree! And think also of the unbelievable horror of war .. and murder.. unbelievable! Demons playing both/all sides.. fingers in every pie. Not a reason for us to fear. We resist the idea presented, whether a threat, a smear/division, or temptation.. Not that we are (yet) perfect! But can learn warning signs., the first threat/small suggestion, rather than a full all out barrage once we have mistakenly and unknowingly opened the door.

But what I also notice, in the overall scheme of things, that the demons (dark messengERS) greatly accelerate this whole thing - of choices other than God's being allowed to exist and run their course - God's truth documentary? Which smoke of - the outcome shall rise up forever / never forgotten. Apocalypse, the result unveiling the truth.

Why else would the universe and Adam and Eve and that little garden been created so long a time, not only when the bound to occur rebel thought occurred but had ripened into outright revolt and trickery/sedition? Might have taken some time of waiting when there was 'only' (lol) God, His Spirit, and the Son and angels..

Paul, and also the writings of prophet Daniel mentioned being held up or prevented by an adversary/messenger. Paul of course telling believers to put on God's armor, and all of God's armor to be able to remain standing - steadfast in the faith - even after "the evil day". I assume either an individual evil day or a collective one.. Also said our adversary walks about seeking someone to devour.. Satan replied/ confessed to God how he'd been going to and fro upon the Earth. This in the days of Job, before half the bsttle was demonstrated as won and the adversary&co. were no longer allowed access to the heavens (Rev.12). And also because of all the casting out of demons that the Lord did convinces me they are indeed rebels waging war. End of Rev. 1 says "the stars are angels" referring to seven stars as being in His hands and over the churches, and so I assume the 1/3 stars dragged from the heavens/high position by the dragon.. tho expressed poetically and using symbols - to be literal 1/3 angels. "The stars are angels". (The chapter is an insert. But is misunderstood. An insert and history from a great sign a virgin gives birth to the gathering to Armageddon to "make war". (Rev.12 + Mt.23:39).

I can't answer the question, but I will say that I do have spiritual dreams.  What are spiritual dreams?  They are dreams that happen right before I awaken and when I awaken I am instantly aware of the voice of God speaking to me (inside) giving me the understanding of the meaning of the dream.   This is not something that happens to me everyday, nor are all my dreams spiritual dreams.  I know when they are spiritual dreams because the Spirit speaks to me right upon awakening about the dream I was having.   These dreams are for me, not for me to trumpet to others.

I ve had demonic attacks in my dreams. I look at them as manifestations of spiritual conflicts. I ve earned a ot about spiritual warfare because of them, atho they were much more frequent when I was younger, I still have these once in a while

What do u mean by manifestations of spiritual conflicts"?

DanielB

I have had a few dreams where I have picked fights with demons but realized that I couldn't do anything against them and simply asking God/Jesus for help and the demon/devil is disempowered and defeated.

In one dream, I was a kid with a group of similarly aged friends and we were
obsessing over this exceedingly haunted house(it seemed pretty
clearly inspired by Stranger Things in some ways) that ended up being the
neighboring property to mine(my brain decided to add that sick detail
lol) and we were trying to get video(for evidence?) and even go inside
the house despite our dread of it.

I ended up getting the webcam that I bought from Amazon but in the dream
it simultaneously recorded in 1080p with heat vision, etc so we set it
up in my brother's room(who was also in on it and his window had a good
view of the house, which was at varying distances throughout the dream,
sometimes no more than a few feet away, which was extremely creepy). lol

It was scary enough being outside of the house, but we actually went
inside the big house a few times before retreating in terror. The ghosts
or demons or whatever in the dream where actually a real danger to
whoever went on the property like one guy got burned alive and another
guy made it upstairs in the house but I saw him going insane through the
window. Going into the house for the first time, it was just creepy
until I started hearing evil voices in my head and sensing them
everywhere and becoming overwhelmed with dread. It was the first or
second time going into the house that some of the demons/ghosts that
looked like aliens shot laser guns at me(don't know what was up with
that but I was terrified at the time lol).

The last thing I remember was going in for the second or third time(I
think it might have been to rescue the guy that was going crazy) and the
devil himself was there threatening and preparing to attack me, I asked
Jesus to help me by sending him away and the devil was threatening,
trying to discourage(why it wouldn't be answered or that I was praying
the wrong way, etc), and trying to get me to reason with him but I gave
him the silent treatment until Jesus evicted him from the area. After
the devil was defeated I was shown on a screen that took up my visual
field that I defeated Satan and got experience points and leveled up
like 1 level! lol I was surprised and thought "Really? That easily?" In
reality, the experience points should have went to Jesus, but he must be
the maximum level anyway lol

Another time, I dreamt that my house and our other house across my driveway that used
to be my great grandpa's, were both haunted. Some of it was like a
Hollywood exorcism movie and some of it was some scary confrontation. I
think it started when walking past my grandpa's house(That has old glass
windows that I can clearly see into and that I often pass walking a few
feet away many nights, when it is nearly pitch black in there and I get
creeped out). I peered into the windows and felt a sense of dread. At
one point there was some grey ghostly imposter of Jesus(just looked like
paintings of Jesus but creepy and "ghostly" and did not say
anything)walking up my stairs and my 3-year-old nephew was following
him(probably inspired by the fact that my nephew has gone into my room
at the top of the stairs multiple times and has said "Jesus in here" or
"I'm looking for Jesus"). It then took a sort of Hollywood twist since I
became or experienced things from the perspective of a know-it-all
Hollywood style exorcist. I, as the exorcist, had somehow gotten the
idea that it was the ghost of an old witch and that I had to find the
body in a dark dusty morgue, which was more like a crypt full of mostly
decomposed dried corpses("mummified"). I looked through the "drawers" or
whatever call them, pulling them out and looking at the bodies, then
through some cardboard boxes containing dry remains(creeped out the
whole time and ironically worried that it was going to give me
nightmares! lol), then I saw an old witch's corpse(how did I know it was
the witch? "She looks like one!"). The corpse let out a short laugh but
ignored me when I spoke to it so I went up beside it and called it/her
something like "stupid dusty witch" to get its attention and when it
looked at me and got up and started walking towards me, I felt like I
had bitten off more than I could chew. At that point, my dream sort of
shifted/changed(I don't know what word describes it) where it was
actually me in my grandpa's old house(rather than the exorcist in the
crypt) where the old "witch"(who I thought was actually some sort of
demon) was walking towards me. I started saying stereotypical exorcism
type things, then it started saying something(I forget what) and I felt
almost paralyzed and could barely speak, so I weakly croaked out against
the demon for Jesus's help and then it took the form of a child and I
regained my voice but did not believe it and was still trying to
exorcize it. Then the exorcist came in confused about the "child"(demon)
and why I was saying such things to it. That is all I remember, I think
my alarm went off and woke me up.

Well, I think they were at least partially just random meaningless stuff(alien ghosts shooting laser guns, etc). It is pretty cool that Jesus still has my back in my dreams though. I wonder if Jesus actually changed my dreams in response to the dream prayers.

CindyinSD

If I've ever had attacks by demons in dreams, I don't remember it. Typically the devil manifests himself as an angel of light, so if one is on the lookout for hideous dream devils, one is apt to be in danger of deception from true evil forces disguised as agents of good. While there seems to be much evidence of the demonic in the New Testament and at the present day, in stories of missionaries to far away lands, I haven't encountered blatant demons at all, not that I can remember.

Just a quick aside: I've known many sincere Christians who live in fear of the devil. Mostly, while they do believe God is more powerful, I get the thought that they're worried that any contests will be a very close thing.

There is only one God, not two fairly equally matched ones, of whom we must hope the good one wins. This concept is dualism and pervasive in (at least) western popular culture—though Christians would be dismayed to realize they hold to it. (I was.) It's a great relief to understand that the devil is well and soundly defeated (if there is actually a personal devil.) It is the flesh—the devil within—that we truly must struggle with. Even in this struggle, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us and gave Himself for us. None of us have ever, at any time, been in peril of any lasting harm. We belong to God. We're in His hands whether we live or die. So rejoice! And if you have a bad dream, tell it to your Father and learn any lessons it may have for you, and let it go.

Andrew

What's your story Cindyinsd? Did you have an interesting born again experience, and how did God reveal UR to you or have you always believed? - if you care to share - i'm very curious about these types of things...
