Hello,

A little back storey to the reason I'm here. I was given faith a little bit more than a year ago. I had no previous interest in religion or God, was happy with nothing so didn't really ask for anything. This was until I prayed out of curiosity, or just to put the matter to rest.  But I had a surprising experience, a bit like Garry Amirault's experience the next month or two, I could see God's love for everyone. I didn't really pay much attention to what was happening and when because  I thought it was the new normal, the new me. Since then I guess normal is just whatever God says it is, it's been a strange year.

The first few months of my experience were a mix of bliss, when I was at work, just interacting with people and sending thoughts to God, and serious head and heart ache, when I was 'learning the truth'. I remember, as I was walking along a street, praying something like; "please don't make me responsible for my loved ones destiny". I felt very cowardly and like scum. But the response I got was to be flooded with love, this really confused me. Before 'Faith' my feelings were always in sync with my thoughts, here I was thinking something like; "OK God, thanks, that's enough, just tell me what you mean!"

My journey to Christian universalism was pretty short. I was a third through Calvin's institutes, I never read much before so I was thankful God spared me the rest of the book, when a famous Calvinist, James White, mentioned in a video something to the effect of; 'Universalism is the only other logical conclusion to harmonising the scriptures'. This was in a debate and he was having a jab at the other person, but it peaked my interest. As it turns out; God's not a hypocrite and he is genuinely Love. This was in, maybe, the first four months.

This tentmaker forum has really helped me a lot, not so much with Hell as with where do I go after seeing that there is no Hell? I considered if I wanted to go back to my old life, but thought forwards looks better. Everyday has been long and I've found all the different views on a multitude of topics very helpful and energising. If I was just getting help from the people around me and various Church folk, I would have been bored and more lost than I am. So thanks.

My days were definitely easier, calmer and shorter before believing, but they were dark in a 'dead' kind of way. So thanks Jesus, as well.

Dear Eddie: It is marvellous how our loving Father draws each of us to Him in His good time. You will find as He leads you into His vast treasures a holy hush falling upon you and joy that is beyond your wildest dreams.

Welcome to our Tent!
Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

LOVE your witness Eddie !

We  learn to desire  HIM  , desire to walk in the Spirit after so much stumbling along the way  ,  :dsunny: :HeartThrob:

I pray Gods will /desire be done every day  and in every way now . and find it much easier to  accept   and  cope .

as we wait on the LORD to fulfill all things in and though and by and for HIMSELF .

more faith come by hearing His voice ,AND SHALL LIVE  unto Him  . being hidden in Christ as all the  chaos in the world continues   fulfilling HIS WORD exactly as planned from the beginning  to the end  .    here is the patience of the saints /holy ones born of God and  no longer worshiping the beast but   rest in the body of the TRUE AND LIVING GOD .

rev 14...11And the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."

12Here is a call for the endurance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13And I heard a voice from heaven telling me to write, "Blessed are the dead—those who die in the Lord from this moment on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labors, for their deeds will follow them."... :HeartThrob: :dsunny:
Jesus is the reward  !!

Andrew

Welcome Fat Bird. I hope you enjoy your time here. I'm curious what your experimental prayer was that you said that led to seeing God's love everywhere - if you care to share...

Thanks

Andrew

Sorry Andrew, I can't remember what I said. I do remember I had my eyes closed and I saw a cross, I also had a definite sense that I was addressing someone despite not knowing if they were real. Before this I had come across something on the internet about the sinners prayer so it may have been similar but may not.

My life has always been disjointed, I've had lots of separate periods and at best they were half decent. I think it was more of a case that the season in my life was right and what had taken place before was leading unknowingly towards God, than what words were actually said. IMO. Maybe I'm being too introspective, but before Jesus returns to earth it has to be desolate (I think of this like the works of man revealed to be hollow).

Not too introspective at all! Or at least, that's how I think of things.. that this life is going our own way and as a result proving it very hollow, doomed to failure - especially collectively! As to the world and man's kingdom(s). That's my basic thought about bible prophecy about "judgments", being results and consequences., not God being angry. Even if it's called that, but that it's more like a top natural law built in to everything, that everything has fruit (results).

I too felt God's sweet love from the beginning of knowing about Him. I could feel the outflowing of His love toward all others. :cloud9: For me it's been 40 years now, and like others too have said, He guides and teaches us.

I follow a New Testament reading schedule I made for myself. I wanted an "enter the story" schedule, so I blended the gospels into two 6 month readings and I read the letters in the order it's believed they were written. I'll leave the link just in case you'd like to use it. Acts (of the First churches/believers) and Revelation are in weekly readings. [ https://inner-monastery.blogspot.com/p/daily.html ]

Lazarus Short

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus
